.

Now, I see your point. But, what about the USA itself.

I know that they will require a payment for their help, but how about the USA as a country itself without the relationship with other countries.

What don't you like about the country's government?

Also, what can the Philippines do that WILL actually work and WILL actually be done. There are very good proposals for an altered government, but do you think a lot will approve.

I think some of us are only looking at it in our perspective. I don't know the views of others, but we might be middle-classed, but what about the less-fortunate.

There I go again. Blabbering stuff I don't know...

Like I've said half a million times before: nobody can be blamed but you. When something goes wrong, it all goes back to the person. Remeber, everytime you point your finger at someone there's three fingers pointing back at you.

It's really stupid to start blaming other people for something that went wrong in our own country, when we could've used all the energy to start and fix it rather than point fingers.

I'm confused...naguguluhan na ako sa lahat.
What are you confused about? Well anyways, it looks like me and flashpoint have different perspective concerning the American Empire. I just totally don't want help from them because it will end up bad anyways (i.e.: They are going to say in the end something like this: "You'll Filipinoes need to pay us back for that."). I'd rather let Philippines be an isolated nation. Look at North Korea, they already have nukes and they are "the most isolated nation in the world today". Now where are our nukes?

Are you suggesting to close our country of from world politics and relations? Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Hongkong-The East Asian Miracle was able to develop indirectly because of export led growth. (Johnson)

You need to understand that all countries are self interested- no country is altruistic all actions are gained to achieve an end. To blame america for being like that is being too idealistic.

And the countries' woes shouldn't be blame to america alone. Sure they did kick our ares in the Bell trade act and other legislation plus they left us in the dust after World war 2 and didn't even give us a single cent. But that is past and we should live with that. But I do agree to the notion that America is evil but if you're defenition of "evil" is selfish and self interested then all countries are as such evil.

And you're relating it to North Korea? What could nuclear weapons do when you don't have food to give to your population? The point is that you can't ignore that fact that it is important to relate with these core nations and to deny their existence is foolhardy. We need to adopt to this globalized world which would already press upon us very soon. Do not be afraid of it rather we should learn to accept it and learn how to use it for our own country's interest.

personally i do think that we can somehow blame the US for teaching us that they are superior over us..... this is because during the time that the american colonizer lived in our land, they educated the people here to think that what they have are the best things that the world can offer.... they are corrupting the young minds then by teaching those stuffs.... this is the reason at present we have that mentality of looking at our selves as a third world country......

Blame those american colonizer for me. The bad influences they brought to our country immanate us filipino till now...... We believe that they are the most influencial people that's why our country can't contribute even a little progress itself. We believe too that when we work abroad our lives will then be secured but then that's a very wrong thought.

Please be reminded that other countries were also colonized but they were able to transcend this fact. The problem with blaming is that we put RESPONSIBILITY on another actor and in this case America but in fact responsibility lays within us.

If we put the blame on America then we wait for that country to take care of what they have done, then where does this mentality lead us? Given the fact that they did impose their superiority through education(can anyone supply proper evidence for this.Is it part of the core cullicurum before to praise the americans as gods)

ACCOUNTABILITY rests within our people and our public administrators.
So as voiced by others in this thread change must come with us. And actually the values that keep us down are asian values and the values we got after the 2nd world war. Research suggest that the mentality of being selfish and the mentality of old people who live through the war where they would usually keep their belongings even if they are trash all sprung from the fact that our race endured through a very devastating war but a value system emerged because of this and that is, the fight for survival.
Most of the filipinos became selfish after the war and during the war itself and after that those who reigned carried this mentality, that survival instinct which pervades up to now. That is why most politicians are selfish, they keep money and welath to maintain their families not the nation.

Actually for all the rotten tomatoes thrown at the government it's not really bad as others would picture it to be. I managed to work for Central Bank for a while and really saw how dedicated those within the bureacracy are. There's good governance practice in most public institutions the government jsut needs to work on it more and perhaps it shoudl aslo scatter to the higher echelons of the bureacracy. (Legislative, Executive and Judicial)

we blame them, yes, but we don't wait for them to fix what they did bad. i personally just want them to stay far away from me. im gonna help in fixing things in here, but im not gonna let them help me then ask me for something in return, like what weed said before.

Di lang america ganyan

Japan, China etc are also like that, there's no such country who would "help" another and get nothing back. Even in donations in times of trouble, these countries expect help in the future or some kind of favor. Foreign relations is heartless.

Pero sana maging united na ang mundo sa future, one world, one species, one humanity na sana. Mawala na sana yung idea of country and nation.
Pero mangyayari lang yan pag nagunite na ang buong mundo.
