Norii stumbled about slightly, then finally found a chair, fainting back into it. She let out a loud sigh, muttering the word "Paper..." to herself. Paper. She was just in shock, what with all the information being fired at her like this, one after another. Not to mention being frozen. Like that's good for the system.

"Well, I guess I have to look forward to The Talk later..." Yamazaki muttered, but put a smile on his face, letting them know he wasn't really freakin' out about any sexuality discoveries or the ilk. So what, he was already planning on having to have one talk with Steve, another with Isys, later, about it. Mostly a "How to" for Steve and a "Never do" for Isys, just because he was like that.

"So, yeah. Piece of paper. Found it in all those party favors from the spring thing," he said, taking a seat hiimself now that it had all settled down. He rocked Isys slightly in his hands, helping her go back to sleep.

"Big magic on it. Figured it was some protection charm. Seemed to be when I examined it. Musta made a mistake," he shrugged that one off. It happens, after all. And it was in the past.

"Tried to use it to enchant something I was working on. Slapped my hand to the paper, and boom. Kid."

"Or you could let them hang out in Aunt Ri's basement. There's an education all by itself." Cody piped up helpfully, grinning from ear to ear as the Coloured Eye took a swat at him and flushed a brilliant deep red. "Shut up, Cody."

Rune smirked triumphantly at her cousin for a moment before blinking at Yamazaki's description. "You found a scroll with magemarkers during the Spring Event, and you didn't TELL me?!?" She half-yelped. Oh, gods above and dires below, if the scroll had been what she suspected it was -

"Is that why Aunt Caitlyn told the Councilman he could shove his scroll up his bum?" Aura asked, head tilted slightly to one side. Mirelle's eyebrows lifted almost to her hairline. "She said what?"

"He said he had a - I think it was a petition or an old law." The green-haired child shrugged, eyes closed to recall the incident clearer. "I didn't catch that part. Something that meant Isys and Stevie should be raised by Tenjutsu and not by their dad. And Aunt Cait told him she'd boot the scroll up his a**, then knock his head off before she'd let him come near them."

"As if I thought you'd be giving away baby making scrolls..." Yamazaki said, rolling his eyes. Then of course, he realized that it was one of those damned babies. And that they would try to put their hooks in her... and trouble...

"Wait... when was that meeting?" Yamazaki asked the kid. Suspicion was growing in his mind. After all, he told no one about the kid until, just a few weeks ago, when she came over. He had thought he had shielded her, and the house, from scrying fairly well.

So who knew?

He was starting to scowl, "It doesn't matter. They have no claim to my daughter," he muttered sternly.

"Today." Aura frowned, thoughtfully. "It was before Mom got there. Cait was suprised, 'cause she didn't know they knew about Isys. The Council said she was Tenjutsu, but they couldn't tell how she got Yamazaki's blood too. Well, unless he knew more about the Tenjutsu than he was telling." She flushed a bit. The actual content of the conversation had included a few wild accusations about the magesmith's "assignations" with poor, unsuspecting Tenjutsu women, for which Sora had ended up having to hold her younger collegue back from a few unsuspecting idiots. "The man said it proved Mama shouldn't have given him Stevie, and Cait got up in his face."

"That sounds like Cait." Mirelle grinned briefly. She quite liked the fiesty teacher.

Yamazaki let out a long groan, rolling his head back in the chair until he was staring at the cieling. So, this 'council' (Nothing good came out of councils or comittees), thought he somehow managed to get to some realm that he had no way of getting to, found some defenseless woman that didnt' exist because they were all warrior assassins, raped her. Kept her prisoner supposedly until impregnated, through the pregnancy, and took the baby? Probably would have to kill the woman or there would be a witness?

Wow, what the hell did they think he was? Apparently they had a greater belief in his power and depravity...

Regardless, he glanced over towards Mirelle, "Seems a good thing Mother Dearest came today..." he said quietly. At that, his mother stirred, and seemed to come to from the shock.

The mother and son stared at each other. No telepathy, no spoken words, they understood each other well enough.

He looked back over to Mirelle and the others, "So... who do you have spyin' on me?"

Obviously if this Council brought it up today... they knew about it. Obviously Rune didn't tell them, or Caitlyn, from their reactions. So someone was spying on him.

Mirelle blinked, though she caught the inference well enough. The past life she'd led had trained her well, after all. Kirika sighed. "They're not spying, exactly." The younger twin shook her head. "It's common knowledge here in Gaia, so it was common knowledge to them."

"You thought we TOLD them?" Cody yelped, gaping at the magesmith with hurt in his eyes. Yamazaki really thought they'd have betrayed him like that?

"They probably checked the house and realized there was one baby more than there should be." Ri shrugged, making a face. "Since she's not Rune's, and she doesn't belong to the rest of us and she's not waiting for adoption," one hand lifted, palm up, in a 'the rest is obvious' gesture, "it makes sense that they'd figure it out. They're not stupid, just," her gaze flicked almost teasingly to Norii, "a little set in their ways. They think they're right, and they know what's best."

Yamazaki groaned. He had a daughter, and he just wanted to keep her, and keep her safe and well... and now there was some bit interrealm fight over her...

He slammed his head against the back of the chair, some nice, blunt force trauma to give him some pain to clear the frustration and rage that was building up in him over this all.

"Then who the hell is comin' around here, countin' babies and somehow can tell a human from a little ninja thing?" he asked them. He was frustrated, he was angry, he wanted to go out and get his hands on someone, anyone, just to take it out and make himself feel better about tit. Damn the consequences. They probably already had him convicted as some murderer-kidnapper-rapist anyway, what's one more charge against some corrupt, moronic council?

Norii humphed as Ri made her little 'comment' towards her with the flick of her eyes, "You should respect your elders."

So, what's the problem with this council thing? Norii thought over at Yamazaki.

A flood of images, emotions, and memories came up, and a dark look came over the mother's face, very similiar to what the mage smith himself had before 'making up' with Cait.

You stay here... let me handle it, I'll make it better... just stay here, take care of our daughter... she sent him again, with some nice, forceful calming emotions.

Yamazaki relaxed in his chair, his taunt muscles just oozed, and it seemed he woudl sink into his chair.

"Now then..." Norii said, turning towards the others, set in a fairly regal, noble lady's way in her chair. Back straight, arms folded in her lap, legs together, tuck to the side and under the seat, "What are these little old men going to do to my granddaughter?"

"Considering that the house is linked to the Academy, it's not a major leap." Rune glowered. She was going to have a TALK with those bastards. Connections did NOT give them the right to sneak about in her domain, damnit.

Ri, on the other hand, was grinning, eyes alight as they took in Norii's change of posture. She may not have liked the older woman originally, but seeing her this way - well, she looked very much like the handful of nobles the Coloured Eye had grown up with as a child. Namely, with the same attitude of competent, capable civility over a core of 'I WILL kick your a**.'

Settling herself in another chair across from the telepath, Ri mirrored the posture unconsciously, speaking as calmly as any respectful equal. "They don't really want to DO anything to her. Rather, they think since she's a Tenjutsu, she should be raised by other Tenjutsu, who would know what's best for her."

A snort from Mirelle echoed the wry disbelief on the Coloured Eye's face. "They have a habit of that. It's partly why we've kept Ila and the other Elemental children under wraps." She shrugged one shoulder elegantly. "If we'd known Isys had the same kind of problem, we might have been able to keep a lid on her."

"But she is not this, Tenjutsu," Norii calmly stated, "She is of my blood, a Yamazaki."

No one had disputed that fact, "And there was no crime committed in her birth..."

She shook her head slowly, "Perhaps you shoudl take me to them, I wish to speak to these leaders."

Yamazaki shrugged. Doing that was less likely to cause trouble than killing this council. Or maybe not. Either way, it couldn't hurt...

"Go ahead, sounds good to me," he told Rune. Almost expecting her to pop open a protal to them right then and there.

"Actually, she's both." Ri drew a deep breath. "The scroll - it was a Tenjutsu essance. That combined with Yamazaki's blood to make Isys. So technically, she's half Tenjutsu, half Yamazaki."

"Which is the problem." Rune sighed. "Scrolls like that are rare - more than rare, really. There've only been two others found in the last ten years." A ghost of a smile touched her lips. "Oddly enough, they ended up as my two daughters. Which is part of the reason they're a bit up in arms over Isys."

"Mom didn't know about the scrolls when Chloe and Rose were made." Mirelle chipped in. "Now that she does, they'll expect her to have given up the scroll before Isys was created. And now that she's as powerful as she is, they definitely think they know what's best for her."

"Surely if their, informant," she stated, pausing over the word to give it the proper emphasis, "did their job, they would have noted she has potential outside their realm of expertise. She needs her father, her clan, to properly teach her a measure of control. Or she'd be dangerous to everyone, including herself."

"And how was I supposed to knwo there were baby makin' scrolls out there, and to turn them in," Yamazaki muttered, rolling his eyes. Sure, they made an attempt to mend fences with the teachers, but for the most part, everything he heard about these people were less than admirable traits.
