The other day I was reading "letter to a christian nation" and although I realize it is the Christian's choice and I respect that...but no christian I know ACTUALLY follows what's in the bible...they think some instructions of the bible are horribly immoral...so why do they still follow the rest of the religion?
I can't understand it...
Why do they still think the bible is the word of god?
I just wanted to share that with you.

I am, as you are, confused as well.
I see nothing wrong in being religious
and spiritual and having faith in something
higher than yourself, but... I know where
you are coming from, I don't really know
why many followers of other faiths still
remain followers when they find some of
their "rules" to be immoral (or some other
negative description) But, I suppose it is
their choice and not mine. -[Haruko]

Hmmm... well, if her religion is based on something
that happened a long time ago and she doesn't
understand it or even know if she agrees with it
because the story has been warped so many times,
that seems to me like a false faith. -[Haruko]

Well... I don't really know either.
My guess would be that it does
probably make her feel good,
having something to believe in,
but, then again, I am not her
and therefore do not know. -[Haruko]

you do not understand, things are just as they

Sometime in Elementary school, I stopped being a Christian because it stopped making sense to me. I was an Atheist then for the next few years, but due to all the negative things I heard about me being Atheist, I decided I needed a religion, so I thought Buddhism would be fun, and I began studying it just to back up my claim of being Buddhist. As I studied, it all made a lot of sense to me, and I began studying it to actually learn and get a better understanding. That's how I discovered different sections, and became a Zen Buddhist. And then I lived happily ever after, the end. XD
