Zaan barely notices Kenji's struggles, his attention now on Kaven. Murder gleams in Zaan's eyes, and he chuckles sinisterly. "Oh, I'm so going to enjoy this." Kaven only laughs and stops Kenji's poorly aimed spell, turning it on his brother. Zaan bats it away irritably, conjuring his own fireball. "Please, like that would work." Zaan hurls the fire at Kaven.

The armor gives a final shudder as the latch breaks, and Kenji stumbles out onto the floor. The armor maintains it's lifelike pose, moving about and slashing, but is hampered by the shadow spirit. Kenji leaps up to the altar, pondering something as he touches the neck of the girl lying there. Insight clicks, and he looks to Zaan, still wrapped up in his own battle.

Zaan immediately follows his first ball of flame with a second, watching them both fly toward his brother. Kaven dodges the first one, but the second flame strikes him full in the chest, knocking him back several paces. "Very well done, Zaan my brother. But I've been preparing for this day for almost half a millennium." Kaven whistles sharply and the throne room is soon ringed with guards. "My personal honor guard. Made up of the very best I could find...from any clan."

Kenji grins at the newcomers, waiting for Zaan's orders as the two inanimate entities behind him attack one another. He dashes up to one, sword drawn, and makes a single slash, rending the arm of one from its body. He spins about and looks down the long row of advancing troops, and notices an arm sprouting out with a sickening noise as the creature regrows the severed limb.
"Let's see how you do without a head!" he yells, charging again.
