Chapter 4 ~ Reizel
I was on my way to the men's bathroom, pass in hand. This excuse made for a good opportunity to get a look at the layout of the school and think back on what I have learned thus far. First off, there is something disturbing about that art teacher. He could prove to be a problem when it comes to getting that girl's affection, it is pain-stakingly obvious that something is going on between them. I can't believe no one else has seen it. How nÃive can people be? As I walked down the hall pondering this I saw something that called for my more immediate attention.
What seemed to be a young man appeared, emerging from one of the classrooms, he locked his violet eyes with mine, "How are things Reizel-- ahem, I mean Ray...?" I knew though, that this was not just another ordinary mortal student.
I glared coolly at him, not saying anything. My demeanor was unemotional, but my blood was boiling on the inside. I didn't know whether to embrace him or kill him. He, of course, talked first, "You don't look happy to see me." He looked legitimately disappointed, " Do you know how hard it was to find you?" He glanced around his surroundings, with a distasteful look on his Greek features, "and this, is not exactly the first place I would search for you in either."
My look intensified as I stepped closer to him, my movements flowing like gossamer, "Did it ever occur to you, Allias, that I didn't want to be found?"
"Is that all you have to say? After all this time?" His almost translucent eyes trembled.
My eyes fell from his to the ground, my face softened. "Well of course it is..." I searched for my words cautiously, "...relieving, to see you are still among us." I brought my sights back on him, "but--"
Allias' face became stern; he knew what was coming, "but what?"
"Now is not the time, I have very important business here. Very, delicate business." I turned away from him deliberately. "So if you would." As I began to walk away, his hand fell upon my shoulder. He grabbed me in such a way as to keep me in place and to caress me sensuously as well. I shook my head speaking callously, "That is enough."
"Just let me say something, " he was being surprisingly persistent, usually it wasnt this hard to be rid of him, "I will be keeping an eye on you, though I won't get in your way if I can help it. You're not the only new transfer today, there are others like us, that you have attracted to this school."
I thought for a moment, "Like Norial?" I winced at the thought; she could prove to be a problem.
"For one. But for more information you must see me tonight. I too have spoken to Mar De Lai, she has told me some things you must know." I looked over my shoulder at the blonde haired man, his expression was serious, his eyes glittered as they connected to mine. "Will you meet me?"
"Meet me on the roof of the shopping center on the corner of 15th and Murdock Avenue." His hand slipped from my shoulder to my neck rubbing it softly. I could smell him, the smell of lavender. I turned into his hand a bit as to let him touch my face. I closed my eyes, taking in his gentle touch and fine aroma.
He laughed lightly, "So you haven't forgotten? All of the time we shared." I flinched and came to my senses when two students came from around the corner. I walked away from Allias abruptly and without another word.
I have problems, if Norial is here it is only a matter of time before she finds Vivica and begins interfering. Norial has always been unpredictable, I need to find her as soon as possible. If she is here to cause trouble, I will have to put an end to it, even if it entails disposing of her. Also, I have to wonder what other supernatural beings have been attracted to this school due to my presence.
I felt a cool wave of calm come over me as I thought back to Allias, at least there was a bit of good news. Allias had disappeared an era ago it seemed. When you've lived as long as we do, time just kind of slips by; you just end up loosing track. The place where he had touched my neck and face still felt warm. Probably my only weakness throughout the centuries has been that I was so easily seduced, prone to lust and taking many lovers. With Allias though I grew abnormally close, something I didn't do often. But his timing couldn't be worse; his reappearing now, here is definitely not ideal. He will probably get in the way of my goal. This girl Vivica brings out enough random emotion in me, I don't need Allias to help any old feelings resurface as well.
"Oh, hello Ray-- you lost?" Vivica had come from behind with what appeared to be a pile of envelopes in her hands. She smiled flirtatiously, then her look became more serious after studying my face for a moment, "Is there something wrong? You look kind of... sad."
I brightened my face as quickly as I could; perhaps too quickly, "Nothing's wrong, especially now that your here." She blushed, laughing lightly, "I should probably let you get back to what you are doing though. Regretfully, I have prior engagements in the Men's room."
She nodded, "Yes that is definitely top priority. I totally understand."
I smile flashing some teeth; I need to ditch her so I can try to find Norial, "Glad to hear it. I'll see you around alright?"
"Yeah, see ya." She walked in the direction of the office; I sighed in relief. There is no time to be dealing with her right now, I have to locate Norial and make sure she isn't up to anything.
