Avalin Race
What is an Avalin?Avalin are a spiritual race of living energy. Their entire beings are composed of compressed magical substance in order to manifest themselves upon the physical-mortal plane.
Descriptions of Avalin:
It is very difficult to describe an Avalin in the human sense of the word. Avalin generate matter through the condensing of their energy production. This allows them to assume any physical shape they wish. They, however, do have race classifications based off the sort of shapes These Avalin races are the Hyan, Venir, Manu, T'ori and Ecchen.
Notes Pertaining to All Avalin Races: Avalin-PhysicsAn advantage that all Avalin share is their peculiar relationship of their manifestations in relation to the rules of Physics. It can be said, with some exceptions, that Avalin do not follow any of the rules typically associated with Physical beings. The reason for this is the physical creations of Avalin actually are the direct manifestations of their willpower. Their mass, shape, and density and durability is directly associated to the state of willpower they wish to assert, as well as the magical influences in themselves and their environment. This allows natural occurrences such as controlled levitation, flight, and choice-based immunity to shockwave, pressure, crushing, or almost any other blunt-based form of physical attack. It is noted that this trait is more obviously seen in the Hyan, and Tori races in which their common disciplines allow them for more direct control over their circumstances.
The Pact of BladesAs Avalin became to come into a more active association with what they call the Phyon or physical races, it became apparent their distinct advantages towards them. It became apparent that if an Avalin decided to dictate control over a certain population there would be little any physical race could do to counter it without extensive magical knowledge. To counter this, Avalin created a pact, intertwined with the very essence to their being. This pact would allow edged weapons, when coming in contact with the physically manifested Avalin presence, to harm the spirit and willpower. Repeated blows of such a sort will continually hamper an Avalins performance, and can force an Avalin to retreat its presence out of the mortal plane to recover, effectively killing the Avalin.
Since the creation of this pact, Avalin of all sorts have devised ways to defend against such an inbred weakness; however no Avalin is capable of a total immunity to bladed weapons.
The Manu-shin techniqueA second precautionary method to help provide a defense against dictatorship rule of the Phyon, the Avalin taught several human beings the technique called Manu-shin, which allows a bladed weapon to cleave energy form willpower, and disperse/destroy the separated energy. This technique can severely harm any being with a relation to energy attacks, as beings that cannot or will not separate willpower from energy can have their spiritual beings heavily damaged. In Phyon, this attack to the spirit can often directly manifest itself physically. For example, if an aura-influenced hand attempting to grasp a person was hit with a Manu-Shin technique, it likely that the hand of the person influencing the manifestation will be either cloven off, or sliced in half, depending on the angle of the Manu-Shin strike. This damage can simply be prevented by severing the willpower/aura tie to the intended spell, effectively dissipating it. When struck at the presence-being of an Avalin, it can deal an extreme amount of damage to their spiritual being and willpower. This blade technique requires no magical ability, however does require an awareness and sense of magical presence and willpower. Avalin are also capable of using this technique, however it requires them to have a physically existing bladed weapon.

"It is an irony that the only beigns that posess knowlege of this specific tenique on gaia are Jiron Donovan, Maria Violet, Valicar Meadia, and Myself. Two of these beings are Avalin themselves, and the other two, myself and my son, Valicar, have no intentions on teaching the ability to any other.
It should be noted that Jiron Donovan is the only being of the three of us who only uses the origonal sword technique of the Manu-Shin. The rest use personalized variants based off of our combat style. I cannot speak for my son, as I have never seen him use the technique, though I have taught it to him personally.
Races of AvalinHyan-AvalinAs some Avalin wish to directly intermingle with physical races as equals, this race of Avalin is by far the most interactive with other species. With its wide diversity of form, it can easily mingle among them with little chance unwilling detection. Hyan-Avalin exercise an extreme discipline over their natural energies, and have been known to assist other magicians in their study of the magical arts.
Hyan in Daily Life: Hyan have a Humanoid form they maintain typically, but they also have the ability to change shape into an in-corporal form, or even adhere to an environment or object. This flexibility requires great discipline over the Hyan-Avalins own energies. This constant shifting can often cramp their natural energy flow. Such a cramp can become seriously impairing, and possibly fatal to the Avalin. To counter this, a Hyan-Avalin chooses a form that allows them to release the full extent of their energies. This form is often similar to a Venir form, in the respect that it commonly takes the shape of a mythological, or hybrid style animal that typically represents their personality traits. This Full Hyan form allows the Avalin to cast out any conflicting energies created through the shifting process, or energy wounds a Hyan may experience during his times in other forms.
Hyan in CombatVenir prefer to maintain a single form, with them constantly at their ability peak. They never willingly go incorpal unless it is important, or vital to survival.
Manu are mostly incorpal, usually form a misty shape of a human or animal, like the white stag or the spirits of the fields, and what not. They are the energy sources of the land, and usually base themselves around a specific environment. Their non-physical forms provide them a great deal of protection in the environment, and they are often the unseen guardians of lands usually rich in life.
T'ori bind themselves to physical objects or weapons, vary rarely separating themselves from it, as it provides them a rather large means of protection. Typically they choose a master to serve under, lending them the benefit of their knowledge, willpower and magical expertise. Sentient weapons are commonly T'ori Avalin.
