Personality:
Where Zama first lived, there were no humans to speak of; and now, having been introduced to the world at large, she's gone overboard with her love of humans. So overboard, in fact, that she's dedicated much of her time to the collection of human things, the studying of human language, and the mimicking of human actions. She loves movies and television, and often takes to altering her behavior and outfits to act like the humans in the latest flick she's seen. Zama is constantly reading human magazines and trying to ask people about the facts she's learned from them, often unaware if she is making people uncomfortable through her questioning. She can come off as somewhat annoying and overbearing, there's no doubt about it... but she's sadly very intelligent and quick to pick up on things, making her almost useful enough to justify making others put up with her obsessive personality.
Despite her intellect, though, there can be no doubt; the fairy's mind is flighty. A side effect of being a member of the fairy's Collective is that much of a member's memory is absorbed into the general knowledge there, and as a result, it is very easy for Zama to forget things unless there is something to remind her about them. She often complains about "something she was supposed to do" that she forgot, even when there isn't anything she needed to do.
Background:
Coming soon. Essentially, she grew up on her little island, was seduced away by the flashy human lifestyle, blah blah, fun stuff, fish out of water.
Abilities:
*Flight; due to the magical nature of fairies, despite her body being heavier than her wings should be able to support, Zama is very capable of flight. She is more designed for speedy, short flights than any sort of extended journey but, given time and chances for rests, she is capable of going long distances at a slow pace.
*Size Shift; in the early days of her tribe, those creatures that could adapt to a great number of situations were blessed with survival, where those who could not would be killed. One ability the fairies developed in order to survive was that of changing their size; larger when they were in groups, to band together and fight off foes, and small when they were alone, to better hide from what might be hunting them. This ability finds its parameters at about 0.5-200% the original size of the fairy in question.
*Collective; for lack of a better name, this ability is referred to as "the Collective". Basically, since they have such short lives, Zama's fairy clan has established a "bank" of memories, which any member can tap into after undergoing a certain ritual. This allows all members to become privy to the cultural laws, history, and collected knowledge of the tribe. This also means Zama can act as a phone of sorts to the Spirit World. If whoever's in the Spirit World has one of her clan around, then all they have to do is establish a connection through the Collective and pass around the information of what they want to communicate, and presto! Cross-dimensional phone service! (And yes, they have ringtones. Don't ask why, but I wanted a fairy that started singing annoying tunes whenever someone wanted to speak through her. XD)
*Magic Eater; the way fairies process their food is different from how humans process their food. Fairies need to absorb magic in some way and for her tribe, Zama does this by eating nectar, long considered a food of the Gods and fully capable of sustaining fairies. While it is important that Zama also eat other foods to sustain her body, without nectar, her body would lose its magic- and, once a fairy has lost their glamour, there is no way to recover it.
