ive done all three diciplines, and epee is definitely the most fun. so ya alot of people claim that its easy because you can hit anywhere, but the club i fence with has some interesting rules to make it a little harder.
granted a foilist or sabreist is going to fight like their decipline regardless, its amusing to see me fight sabre like an epee, but the special rule for epee fights in the club is they only permit hand, toe, and head shots as a valid target, and for good reason.
they claim (and i can back up the claim) that it promotes better tip control, better tip awareness, and quicker reaction time.
but ya, little mini rant, epee is the best hands down.....i like my italian grip epee lol
