Aegre Gens- The formal name of the Scarlet clan.
Elders- There are twenty known elders of the Scarlet clan. Ten of those elders are the original founders of the Scarlet Clan, pure-blood seers. Thier appearance is never clearly depicted. The remaining ten are page elders sent to live amongst the family members. The eldest of the page elders is Renowah Scarlet [Azaziel's great-grandmother] The others are in rank not according to their ages but power levels. If you have obtained the rank of Elder you have rank over lesser halflings and have gained respect and a title throughout the entire clan.
Halflings- Children born to a seer and a human. This breed has all of the abilites of a seer yet has the appearance of a mortal. The Scarlet clan uses inbreeding to keep the bloodline "pure". There are clans all over the world of halflings, yet they are very rare.
Seers- A being from a mysterious unseen realm that first appeared in Earth's realm around first century B.C. It is rumored that the first halfling was born in that first year. [See, Dimidium] The seers thrived there, hiding themselves from the mortals for many years until branching off into thier own lands and starting clans all over the world. There are few true seers left in the world, their appearance constantly shifting with the Earth's cycle of life. Their powers consist of premonitions [seeing into the future], clairvoyancy, telekineses [ability to move objects with one's mind], telepathy [ability to read minds], invisibility, stealth, agility and levitation.
Guardians- There are 7 known guardians for the Scarlet clan. This is the usual number for halfling clans. These beings serve to guard, protect, and fight for their clan members and elders. They pledge their loyalty and allegiance to each and every clan member and show that loyalty with ferocity and fevor. Guardians have three forms. Level one- Normal Form, a seemingly human appearance. Level two- Battle Form, this form may vary from guardian to guardian. It can range from a variety of different things, such as a large dog or a fallen angel. Level three- Although it is rare and only a few guardians from each clan ever reach this stage of power the Beast Form is a force to be reckoned with. The guardian usually takes the on a form similiar to that of the Battle Form but modified, their power exceedingly higher.
Dimidium- Supposedly the first ever living halfling. He's been deemed by Azaziel "The one who started this whole mess" He was only 14 when he mysteriously disappeared. He is often worshipped and revered by all clans of halfling. Whispers of murder are ever present when speaking of "The First Prince" Jealousy, rage, incident, anything could've happened to the boy. He is said to either be resting or dead. If he IS resting then he would turning two-thousand years old very soon...
Plot summary- The year is 2014. The humans technology has taken a turn for the worst following an eccentric scientist named Hamilton. He gained popularity by his discovery of a machine to create the world's first portal, supposedly used for teleportation in 2006. It was made public in 2007. What followed was no accident. Hamilton held his true motives from his colleagues, becoming consumed in his work and purposely creating the "Teleportation Portal". The portal was actually a gateway to another dimension. Slowly but surely the portals would begin to pop up on their own, without any prompting by the machines that created them. That's where the idea of "portal-hoppers" came. Creatures from different dimension began hopping into our realm. Drow, vampire, lycans, seers, halflings, demons and angels. All of these creatures (and more) that were previously thought fictional characters begin to expand into the Earth's realm by these strange unseen portals. Since, literally, we can do nothing but stand aside and watch, these creatures watch us and soon began to blend into our culture. The creatures that choose this path are called "Tames". They choose the lives of humans over their previous life and are given citizenship. Although they are often criticized and persecuted (much like rascism) they continue to try to make thier lives stive and build a happy future for thier children. They work, play and go to school with humans. In this particular roleplay your character could be a drow lawyer or even a fallen angel doctor. Those who don't choose this path are called "Ferals". They choose to stay with the culture and traditions of their own world, or are unable to blend into the human world. Halflings blend into the human world more because of thier appearnce, (The only off-set being thier gray eyes). All halfing's ancestory traces back to the first portal ever opened by supernatural means, instead of scientific. It was opened by the seers, a race of powerful mind-readers. The seers have no real form, not able to maintain one with the Earth's constant motion. The halflings however contain almost all of the seers powers but in a human appearance.The portal was opened in the first century in which the first halfing was born. "Dimidium" as he was called was the first living halfling on Earth, born to a seer priestess and a human. The boy was only 14 when he mysteriously disappeared but his sisters and brothers carried on, bearing more and more halflings. It's been 2,000 years since Dimidium's disappearance and there's been rumors of his return.
