Quote: Dear Diary, Well, well, where to start? You know, I actually planned on writing "nothing's going on right now. Same old, same old." Lies. You know, I haven't actually really lied to anyone in...years, and now... Anyway, on with the good stuff. Well...I suppose I should start this entry as I had planned. Nothing's really going on right now, except the fact that Regen is now a NymphChild -and quite a handful, to tell the truth. She become very inquisitive and curious and likes to poke everything and crawl into places that she could get lost in, and for some reason she's fascinated with my chest and back. My scars, to be more exact. It's almost creepy. I wake up at night to find that she's unbuttoned my shirt and is hovering in the air, just staring at the scars. She keeps asking me if I plan on dying anytime soon. Pleasant conversation, huh? They moved me into another room, with, like twenty-bazillion cameras. I swear they're everywhere, under the bed, in the dressers, in every corner, under the rugs... It's just freaky. I don't know what they're thinking. One of these days I'm accidentally going to step on one of them and get glass in my foot and then I can sue them. Yeah, right. And...something else is going on, too. Slowly, but surely. I'm afraid to write about it, though. Who knows who has access to my diary? Let's just say that a certain tutor keeps popping up in the strangest places with the wildest information and...scary plans. I don't want to write any more. It probably won't go anywhere, anyway. I hope. But I don't hope... Dangit, I'm confusing myself. Crud, the Spritkin just broke somethuing again, and Regen's yelling her head off at them. She's usually pretty calm, but she has her mood swings. Have I told you about her mood swings? They're scary things. Happy one minute, depressed (or angry, or hyper) the next. I'd better go before she decides to find out with the Seven Horrors of the World are edible. -Xennik

[Xennik and AuroraFiara]The soft clicking of a mouse sounded as Aurora checked her email, her eyes narrowing at the words on the screen, before she gave a huge roll of her eyes and let out a deep sigh. The only words on the screen were 'The Swan flies at midnight'. "Honestly, couldn't you guys be less cheesy and dramatic?" She didn't often think outloud, but these... geezers were just so frustrating! "I thought it was the young ones that wanted to be all secret spy, and the older ones new better." Her hands lifted to rub at her temples and she grimaced, before standing up from her desk. Her eyes glanced to Cira, asleep inside Altan's egg, and then Keeran and Gin wrapped around the two of them. They'd be safe for a little while, she was sure of it. Quickly she grabbed her coat, tugging it onto her body before slipping out the door and locking it behind her. For about 10 minutes she traveled into the woods before she suddenly stopped, as if some indication was given that this was where she needed to be, and she gave a shrill whistle between her teeth. Then waited. And waited... Finally, an owl appeared on the tree above her and hooted in greeting. She stared at it intently for a few moments, and it stared back with its wide eyes, before she nodded and it flew away. An onlooker might feel as though something had transpired between the two, but no words were spoken. Despite the silliness of the message, Auri new the gravity of the situation behind them. They were going to break Xennik out of rehab. Tonight. Arika gulped down her anxieties, staring up at the building of the Live Again Rehabilitation Clinic. She had to act like everything was normal. Not easy, considering that tonight was the night they'd bust Xennik Diagin out of this thrice-accursed prison. Arika stood outside of the building, moments before her shift, waiting for the girl Auri to arrive. The small, slight young woman moved almost silently up behind Arika until she stood directly next to her. A light nod was given to her in greeting as she stared up at the sign of the rehab. Her hands shoved themselves into her pockets and she rocked back and forth on her feet, almost as though she was bored. "So, Arika. What's the plan?" Her voice was soft, gentle and quiet, partly to keep from being discovered so early, and partly to help calm Arika's nerves. She could tell the woman was nervous, would she freak out and freeze in the middle of the plan? Could they depend on her? Well, all would be discovered later, it was too late to change anything now. Arika frowned. "I am to create a distraction at exactly ten o'clock. While security is dealing with it, you are to enter D's room. The door will be unlocked." Arika never took her eyes from the building as she handed Auri a white cloth bag containing a bottle of chloroform and a cloth. "You are to pretend to kidnap him. Dr. Florrant will assist you as needed. He will already be in the room when you enter. A car will be waiting." Still without looking at the girl, she gestured to the trees behind her. "Over there. It will take you directly to headquarters." Aurora's head nodded once in agreement to the plan, at least it wasn't too far-fetched and wild, as in, they didn't want her crawling through any vents. If that had been the plan she'd go rogue and put her own little plan into action. "Sounds good, Arika." A short 'hoot' was given, as a snowy white owl circled above and then landed on Auri's now outstretched arm. The two stared at each other for a few moments before it flew away again into the trees, and a slight smirk crossed Auri's face. For the first time, she glanced at Arika out of the corner of her eyes, a glint of mischief present there. "Back-up has arrived." She tugged a small whistle out of the pocket of her jacket and handed it to Arika. It appeared to be a dog whistle, but somehow Arika would know it wasn't for dogs. "If you need help, blow on that." She turned away then, and headed off into the woods with the small white bag and decided she would remain hidden until the plan was put into proper action. She paused for a moment and grinned at Arika over her shoulder. "Don't get caught." And then she disappeared amongst the trees. Arika took the watch with a professional air, sliding it into the breast pocket of her dostor's coat. She finally turned to face the younger woman, a scowl on her face, when she was warned to be careful. Of course she'd be careful! But enough of that for now. Half an hour before go-time. Auri settled down against a tree, checking her watch and noting with satisfaction that they only had 30 minutes to go. Finally they could get Xennik out of that wretched place and he could -really- start on the road to healing. She opened the bag, checking to make sure that the required items were indeed inside. Quietly she sat for a bit, her eyes always on her watch. 20 minutes...15 minutes...10 minutes... She stood then, and tugging an eagle's feather out of her pocket she tied to her bra with a piece of string and was immediately turned into an eagle, though at least this time she was able to keep all the fuss about it down so she didn't blow her cover. She lifted in the air and circled a few times before diving back down to grab the bag between two powerful claws. She flew then, high up in the air to the side of the building where Xennik's window was and dropped the bag into a bush below, settling near it to wait until she knew it was time. Xennik sat in his room on his bed, looking with curious annoyance at Dr. Florrant, who apparently was re-programming Term. Regen perched restlessly on his shoulder, thoughtlessly stroking Assai, who sat beside her. The man was taking a long time! Xennik had hardly moved since the man came in. Something about the doctor always seemed to rub the patient the wrong way. It was fairly obvious when the time approached. There was screaming heard down the hall, and the security guard on duty in that hall (hall 400 -on the fourth floor) could be heard running toward the stairs. Xennik glanced up, a little shocked, but Dr. Florrant kept working, programming the robotic dog not to bark, should someone unwanted come breaking in... That glint of mischeviousness appeared in Auri's eyes once more as she heard the screaming and she quickly flew into action. Literally. Her sharp eyes picked out the bag in the bush and she grasped it with her talons and rose up to the window. Once she was sufficiently settled on it she reverted back to the same Auri that Xennik knew, though with a markedly different dye job in her hair. Her fingers pried open the window and she slipped inside easily. Her eyes moved to Dr. Florrant working on Term, glad that the dog wasn't going to start a ruckus, and she nodded her head towards him, before turning to look at Xennik. It was obvious they needed to get out of here quickly. "Xennik, do you trust me?" Regen gave a little yelp of surprise as the girl came climbing in th ewindow. Okay, so she didn't really know very much, yet, but not all that many people came climbing in the window! Her tiny hands flew to her mouth and she rose into the air, out of the way as Xennik leapt to his feet in surprise. Assai tumbled off of his shoulder, crying out and awakening the rest of the Seven Horrors. "Auri?!" Xennik cried as he jumped to his feet. "What are you doing here?" Dr. Florrant continued working, calm as ever, as though he had expected this to happen the whole time.

[Xennik and AuroraFiara - Continued]Auri grimaced lightly and she sighed, rubbing her temples lightly. Her eyes went from Regen, to Xennik, to the "Seven Horrors". How was she going to get them all out of here? Though she supposed that Regen and the spiritkins could ride on her back as an eagle. "We don't have time, Xennik. Do you trust me?" Her eyes pleaded with him silently, but she wouldn't move on him unless he said yes. She didn't want to ruin their friendship just because he'd misinterpret her knocking him out with Chloroform, and she suspected it would take a long time for Regen to forgive her, but it needed to be done. "No..." Xennik choked, making the syllable sound more like a question than a resolute answer. He stared in confusion at her face, trying to read her expression. What was going on? What was with the urgent tone in her voice? His eyes left her face and went to Dr. Florrant, who still hadn't even looked up. What the heck was going on? "Auri!" Regen peeped happily, pleased to see the young woman now that she was over the shock. "What's going on?" Xennik demanded, as the cries of the Spritkin grew louder and more panicked. A flash of hurt flew across Auri's eyes before she squashed it down, now wasn't the time. And she couldn't really blame him, after all he'd only met her once and suddenly here she was out of the blue, with no warning, in a very serious situation. Of course he didn't trust her, idiot. She winced as she listened to the Spiritkins' cries getting louder, at this rate the guards would be here any minute if Arika couldn't keep up the diversion. "We're getting you out, Xennik. There's no time to waste." She moved to the door and looked out to try to make sure they weren't in -immediate- danger. Her eyes turned to Dr. Florrant and they pleaded with him. 'Make him turn his back to me.' She knew he couldn't understand her thoughts, but she hoped to whatever god was listening that he'd come up with the same idea. She still clutched the cloth bag in her hands, her fists tightening on it even more. Her eyes flitted over to Regen and she smiled to the small Wethkin, amazed at the transformation that had obviously taken place since the last time she saw her several months ago. "You look good, Regen." Xennik's look of surprise and confusion turned to one of annoyance. With one deft sweep of his hand, he silenced the panicked Spritkin, much as a conductor would handle an orchestra. The Spritkin huddled around his feet, looking confused but not knowing why, daft creatures that they were. Xennik's hand went to his temple, as though he had a bad headache. He closed his eyes. "You're in on this, aren't you?" He asked the inventor tiredly. "Thanks!" Regen cheeped happily, squirming with delight at teh compliment. Not many people around here complimented her. Dr. Florrant replied by closing the control panel of the guard dog and locking it. Term lay as though in a peaceful sleep, forced though it was. Aurora sighed gently as she watched the two of them, gently shaking her head as Dr. Florrant remained completely silent and unhelpful. She rolled her eyes upwards and moved to make it seem as though she was going to start pacing behind Xennik. (Assuming he doesn't turn to watch her) Once she was behind him she deftly opened the bag and pulled out the bottle and the cloth. 'Should have done this before I even showed up' she mumbled in her thoughts, pouring some of the chloroform onto the cloth. Her eyes watched everything going on out of the corners, before in one quick move she slid behind Xennik and attempted to wrap one around around his chest from behind, and press the cloth to his nose and mouth. 'Please please please work.' As Auri moved behind him, Dr. Florrant finally spoke, distracting the young man. "Mr. Diagin, I assume you won't be missing Terminator2000 very much." "What?" Xennik asked, brow furrowing. Regen, meanwhile, was watching Auri with interest, too naiive to understand what she was planning to do. Her head tilted curiously to the side and her little lips puckered thoughtfully. Xennik was startled to feel an arm wrap around his chest. He arched his back reflexively, but far too late to do him any good. Crying out, he felt a cloth press against his mouth and nose. His cry turned into a weak moan as he was forced to inhale the chemicals. His knees buckled, and he fell unconscious against her. By this point Regen had finally pieced together that something was wrong. She let out a shreik. "You killed him! You hugged him to death!" She cried, large eyes widened in horror. Auri grimaced as Xennik slumped against her, sure her arms were stronger from flying, but he was still pretty heavy. Her eyes glanced over at Dr. Florrant and she growled lightly at him. "A little help here, man?" Her eyes turned to Regen and they softened a bit, though she couldn't help but giggle at Regen's assessment of this situation. "Regen, sweetie, listen to me. Xennik's not dead. See? You can still see him breathing, he's just asleep that's all. We're going to take him someplace safe, someplace where he'll be happy and he won't have all these doctors poking and prodding him." She hoped her explination was sufficient enough. Her eyes turned to Dr. Florrant and she tilted her head lightly. "How are we going to get them out?" Regen pulled at her hair. "Happy?" She whimpered, her shoulders slouching in unassurance. Dr. Florrant stood. "Excellent job, m'dear." he drawled, stepping forward and almost lazily helping her pull herself out from under the unconscious man. "The dog is staying here. I'll take good care of him." He didn't mention the Spritkin or Regen. He didn't even know they existed. Auri frowned when she realized the doctor couldn't see the little magic puffs and Regen, and she sighed, shaking her head. "I see. How do we get Xennik out, then?" She waited for a moment when Dr. Florrant wasn't looking before she winked and smiled reassuringly to Regen and the Spiritkins. They needed to get out of here as soon as possible. She hated doing these sorts of things blind. "Out?" Regen purred, looking thoughtful. "We can come?" She gestured to the Spritkin. Dr. Florrant had pulled something out of his pocket and was typing into it. The door of the room opened, and a large man dressed in a Security Officer's outfit came in. The inventor nodded at Xennik. "Would you be so kind, Aran? This man needs to be transported safely to the vehicle outdoors." 'Aran' looked annoyed. He knew what he was supposed to be doing. Brushing past Auri, he picked up the unconscious man and tossed him ungracefully over his shoulder. A slight wince crossed Auri's face as she watched Xennik being dumped over 'Aran's' shoulder, and she lofted a brow at the security guard quietly. She shrugged then and sighed, there was nothing that could be done for all that. She moved over to where Regen and the little spiritkin were, and stuck her hand in her pocket in such a way that it widened it and left ample room for the eight little creatures to jump inside. And, hopefully, without attracting the attention of Dr. Florrant and Aran, she gestured for the little magical beings to get inside so she could take them with her. It might be a little cramped, but they'd be alright. Aran, still looking annoyed at the whole situation, approached the window and released a string of magic from his palm. Silently, he leapt out the window with Xennik in his arms. He landed in a crouch on the ground, long purple braid coming loose from his collar. Completely unwinded, he took off across the grounds at a casual trot, Xennik's smaller form cradled against his chest. Aran's leisurely pace brought pain to Dr. Florrant's face. "Idiot," he hissed under his breath. "Could ruin everything!" Regen cocked her head curiously at Auri, before understanding her meaning. She spun in the air, floated down to the Spritkin's level, and directed them on no uncertian terms to leap into Auri's pocket. They agreed swiftly and did as she was told. Regen turned her face up to the woman and smiled. "We go now?" She asked innocently, completely unaware that she was helping out in Xennik's kidnapping. Auri smiled downward and nodded her head towards Regen and the spiritkin, but tried to make it look like she was agreeing with Dr. Florrant's assessment of Aran. She was glad that, besides Xennik being a pain in the a**, things had gone relatively smoothly so far. "Guess I'd better get after him." She nodded her head once to Dr. Florrant, then flashed him a brilliant smile, one that lit her face up almost as much as Cira did. "Thank you for all your help, Doctor." She reached her hand out to pat him on the arm in a friendly gesture, before she moved to the window and climbed out, closing it behind her. She glanced down at the ground, threw up a silent prayer, put her hand over her pocket to keep the little magic creatures from falling out, and she slipped off the edge of the window down towards the ground. ((hopefully it's not too far up O.o)) (( Well, they're on the fourth floor...but hey, who cares about the laws of physiques, anyways? XD )) Dr. Florrant gave a quick nod before turning away from her. Over his back, he said. "Better hurry, the camera's coming back on in two minutes." Pulling on a pair of gloves, he rolled up the legs of his trousers and secret-agent/spiderman-style climbed up the wall and through the vent. ((I couldn't resist XD)) A black, non-descript car sat hidden by the trees. As Aran approached, the door was swung open and he unceremoniously dumped the captive on the backseat, turning back to see what had become of the young Auri girl. Regen, after having gawked at Dr. Florrant's display, followed Auri curiously out the window. She herself refused to be stuffed in someone's pockets. She liked her freedom. Auri grunted gently as she hit the ground and stumbled a bit, wincing lightly before she sat up and composed herself, glancing to look over at Regen. She flashed another smile and jerked her head towards the card. "C'mon Regen, lets go catch up with your dad." She broke into a jog towards the car, unsure of just how well Regen could keep up with her. Xennik would never forgive her if the little Wethkin was left here all alone. A few moments later she stopped next to the car and slipped inside, making sure Regen was right there with her, and all the little spiritkins were safe. She looked up at Aran, and gave one last warm smile. "Thanks, man. We couldn't have done it without you!" Regen had never flown so hard in her short life! Something about Auri's attitude lent an air of urgency to the situation. As the little Wethkin flew after her, the air grew noticeably more strained as her mind stormed over, and a few clouds drifted over the sky at an alarming rate. Despite these signs of uncertainty, Regen seemed fairly cheerful as she dashed into the vehicle full of awe (she'd never ridden in a car, after all). "I know." Aran said to her thanks, already exchanging his security guard costume for his own better-fitting shirt. "Now I've got to go save my sister from whatever torture the real security guards are putting her through. Copante'!" Her gave her something that -in the dark- might have been taken as a grin as he uttered a foreign farewell and shut the door of the car. The vehicle began rolling as soon as the door was shut, slowly at first, then picking up speed as it left the trees and the sight of the hospital, beginning the fairly lengthy drive from the outskirts of Gambino to Barton Town. Xennik was still unconscious, crumpled on the seat beside Auri.

[Xennik and AuroraFiara - Continued]Auri nooded her head to Aran, glad that Arika was going to have backup to get away from those guards. Somehow she had a feeling that the man would be more then able to take care of them. She frowned up at the clouds gathering above them momentarily before her thoughts turned to Regen and she looks at the little Wethkin, smiling warmly. "Sorry for just busting all of this on to you and Xennik, Regen. He probably won't be very happy with me when I wake up. I had to use a chemical on him that put him to sleep so we could stage it as a kidnapping to get him out of there. See, none of us believe that the doctors there were doing any good for him so we wanted to get him out where he could be free. It's been a long six months that we've been working on all this. Cira's... stopped talking because of it I think. But hey, maybe she'll feel better once she sees you, right?" Auri smiled brightly, trying desperately to convince herself of this as well. "But, Xennik will probably be in an awful mood when he does wake up, but don't let him scare you. He'll need your help in the weeks to come, adjusting to being free again, alright?" "Free?" Regen asked, with the characteristic c**k of her head. Her views of kidnappings were going to be scewed for the rest of her life. "Cira? She...sick?" Regen didn't understand a lot of the big words that Auri was using, but she was empathetic by nature, and could sense in her tone of voice that something wasn't right. The car hit a bump and Xennik moaned in his sleep. Regen looked down at him, and her expression grew worried again. Auri grimaced down at Xennik for a moment before she turned back to Regen and nodded her head, smiling a little sadly. "Yeah, I suppose sick is a good way to put it. But it's not like your normal sick, it's hard to explain..." She shrugged her shoulders and chuckled. "She'll get better though, especially after she sees you, I just know it. But, first we've got to get Xennik to safety." Aurora frowned at the man once more, and hoped he didn't go after her with a blunt object or something when he woke up. Maybe she should stay away for a few days, let him get comfortable and -then- come visit. "Sick like head-sick?" Regen asked, and though her question was strange, she seemed to understand what Auri meant. She did, after all, live with Xennik. "Zschen be mad?" She asked with a pensive, almost dreading look. Xennik was remarkable about keeping his temper around her, but she still had seen him being particularily angsty, and it was no fun at all. Regen flew down to Xennik's face, gently touching his eyelids with her finger. "He du'n't look very comforble." She murmurred, then, looking up at Auri with big eyes, she informed her, "And Vivace says they're being squish-ed." Auri blinked in surprise at Regen, not expecting her to understand what she meant, before slowly she nodded her head. "Yeah, head-sick. She didn't get to go outside or talk to anyone much while we were planning on breaking Xennik out of that place." She sighed softly, and it was obvious that this particular topic worried and shamed her. She was a horrible, horrible mother. "He's probably not very comfortable, but hopefully we'll be at our destination soon and he can sleep it all off in a comfy bed." She then blinked again, this time confused by Regen's statement about Vivace being squished, before suddenly she looked down at her pocket and opened up the top so the Spiritkins could come and go as they pleased. "Oops, sorry!" The Spritkin were VERY vocal about their displeasure in being squished for so long. Jig snapped at her while Assai grumbled and Melody attempted to bite her hand. One commanding yell from Regen seemed to do the trick, however, and they calmed down, their cries of outrage becoming little mutters of disgust. Regen looked back down at Xennik. She unbuttoned the top button of his shirt and pulled the cloth back, revealing a bit of one of Xennik's nastier scars. She touched the scarred skin gingerly with her fingers, in a way that seemed to indicate that she did this often while he slept. "Cira will get better from being head-sick?" Regen asked as her fingers brushed gently over her guardian's skin. A soft sigh broke across her lips as she grumbled right back at the spiritkins, rubbing her forehead. "I said I was sorry..." She shook her head before turning once more to Regen as the young Wethkin spoke. To say she was surprised at the gentle nurturing that the Wethkin gave to Xennik would be an understatement, in fact she was actually floored. She wondered if the man knew how caring Regen was with him, and how gentle, and if he knew how utterly lucky he was. Not that she didn't consider herself lucky with Cira, Auri didn't have the problems that Xennik did, so didn't need the mothering. "Well, I hope she will. I don't know if she'll ever be the same as she used to be, but I hope she'll at least start talking soon.. and I hope she won't hate me for keeping her away from the outside world for so long." Auri couldn't believe how much Regen had matured, and how like a little tiny adult she was. "I bet Xennik's really proud of you, sweetie. You've certainly grown into a very mature young Wethkin. I know I would be." "I ne'er go outside." Regen said with the simplicity of fact. She only went outside when it rained, soemtimes, and only for a few minutes at a time. Xennik would panic if she went missing or got hurt. Besides, it was kind of scary outdoors. And now Dessin was around less and less. He used to be able to take her outside, but he didn't seem to like her anymore. He kept going away without saying goodbye... Regen didn't know what 'mature' meant, but it sounded like a compliment, so she smiled. "Zschenik hurts sometimes, so I make it stop so he can sleep or he doesn't do a vury good job tomorrow, an' the tootors get all mad at him." "Well, he won't have to worry about doctors pushing him and making him hurt, he'll be able to learn everything at his own pace. Just don't let him slack off about it." She relaxed back against the seat of the car, her eyes stealing a glance outside as she sighed, wondering how long it was going to take before they reached where they needed to be, she wasn't even entirely sure where they were going. "Anyway, now you and Xennik will both be able to go outside as much as you want." "I dun think Zschenik likes the outside." Regen said uncertainly, pressing down a little too hard on Xennik's chest and causing him to moan in pain. His eyelids flickered and his face contorted, more from the awkward position he lay in and his lack of grasp of reality than from the quick sting of pain from his chest. He was beginning to wake, but definetly wasn't there yet. Air escaped through his teeth ion a gentle hiss as he screwed his eyes shut, trying unconsciously to decide if he should try falling back asleep or try waking up. The Spritkin all heard him hiss and leapt onto his chest, watching him with interest, almost expectantly. The car was approaching Barton Town, and the driver signaled that it would be ten more minutes to their destination. "I think he'll like the outside much more when he's allowed to go out into it whenever he wants and realizes that what happened to him was a freak accident." She'd done a little research on what exactly had happened to Xennik, always being a freak for details. She frowned gently when she noticed him moaning and hissing in pain, her hand lifting to try to brush gently through his hair to sooth him. It had always worked for her, even after she'd grown. Besides, after what she'd done to him she should try to make up for it as much as possible. Her head nodded at the driver and she sighed with relief, they were almost there. A gentle shudder ran down Xennik's body as she touched his hair. Had he been fully awake, he would have jumped up and demanded an explanation, pronto! But as his mind wasn't even barely conscious, he allowed himself to relax, unused to any show of affection other than those from Regen in her more solemn moments. He leaned his head back, leaning semi-consciously into her touch, a soft sigh escaping his lips before he drifted off completely, lulled by the unusual show of tenderness. The Spritkin, still clustered on his chest, looked even more expectant, then disappointed as their guardian failed to do as they seemed to expect. Regen glared at them and shooed them off, only receiving a little bit of attitude, which she handled with quick authority. The Spritkin seemed restless, but obeyed her commands with minimal sassiness. She blinked in surprise when Xennik really did seem to calm and even leaned into the touch, that was certainly not something she was expecting. Lightly her fingers continued to stroke through the locks of his hair, allowing the sleeping man to get comfortable as he wished and she sighed, shaking her head at Regen. "I think he'll hate me for a few days before all is said and done. I just hope he'll get over it." She shook her head, then smiled as she watched Regen command the spiritkins with authority. She could be an oblivious little thing, but this one was a born caretaker, that much was obvious. She found herself wondering what Regen would be like as a little mother, and giggled at the thought quietly. Regen looked at Xennik for a moment, as though fearful he might wake up, but he seemed to have fallen back asleep completely. She watched Auri massage his scalp with interest, head tilted. The Spritkin were playing a game of silent freeze-tag. They seemed to have been taught early in life to keep silent. After a moment of silence, Regen asked, "D'you like him?" She gestured down at Xennik. "Not vury meny people do. They're always mad at him. Not even Dessin likes him. But I dun think he likes Dessin, either. He won't let me talk about him. Dessin doesn't want to hear about Xennik either. And his tooters are bullies." Grey eyes flitted over towards Regen to watch her, her fingers working almost unconciously on Xennik's scalp now to keep him relaxed. Considering he was going to be waking up in a strange place, he didn't need to have his sleep restless and disturbing as well. "Do I like Xennik? Well, we've really only met once before, remember? And it's been quite a few months since he and I have talked so we don't really know each other very well. I think he'd make a really good friend though, once you got past his insecurities and his fears." She tilted her head a bit, then blinked lightly. "Who's Dessin?" "I like him. He's a'ways nice to me." Regen said with a little smile. "Dessin's my friend. He's a ghost, so he can't c** around vury often," Regen explained, not really grasping what being a ghost meant. "He n' Zschenik used a be friends, I think, but now Xennik doesn't...believe." She whispered this word with horrified reverance. Xennik's 'not believing' had meant for her months of being invisible to him.

[Xennik and AuroraFiara - Continued]Lightly blinking Auri stared at Regen for a few moments, a single eyebrow lifting quietly and she shivered a little. "Xennik has a ghost following him around?" Her eyes traveled around the car, as though both hoping and dreading that she'd be able to see something, but they found nothing. "Wonder how that happened. He didn't believe? Does that mean he does now?" "Yeah, he follows him around, even though he dun't like 'im vury much." She noticed her wandering eyes, and said, "He's not here right now. He's Somewhere. 'At's where he goes when he's not here. Zschenik still doesn't believe in him, but he b'lieves in me now." She smiled happily, absently stroking her guardian's cheek with the back of her hand. "Well, I'm certainly glad he believes in you now, otherwise how would he be able to take care of you?" Her fingers still massaged Xennik's scalp and hair, her other hand reaching out to rest on the driver's seat. "How much further is it?" She asked. One thing was for sure, she didn't want to be stuck in the car when Xennik woke up, then she wouldn't be able to get away from what she -knew- was going to be a very unpleasant encounter. "Dessin tooked care uh me when Zschenik culdn't see me." Regen explained, watching the hand that continued to move through her guardian's hair, as though transfixed. "But he cudn't help vury much 'cause he sometimes goes through stuff." In reply, the silent driver held up a single index finger, sliding the car in place in front of a small building titled Joe's Coffee Shop. AKA, Headquarters. A single honk from the front seat -bringing cries of surprise from the Spritkin- brought two men scurrying out of the building, looking quickly both ways before opening the doors on either side of the car. One o fthe men gestured for Auri to slip inside, while the other began adjusting the unconscious young man for transport. "Well, I imagine most ghosts do have a tendency to go straight through things." She chuckled gently at Regen, nodding her head in satisfation as they reached in destination. "This is our stop, guys. We're going to head inside that shop." She told the 8 little beings. When the man opened her door she slid out of the car, waiting to make sure the Wethkin and Spiritkins got out too. Her eyes slid over to the man pulling Xennik out and she frowned. "Hey, be careful with him alright? He's had a pretty rough night. He's been out for awhile now, so he might wake up soon, I'm not sure how long that chloroform will keep him out." She watched for a few more minutes, before turning to make her way into the HQ. Regen quickly directed her entourage to follow Auri. She picked Jig up in her arms, taking off after the woman, while Assai bit down on Xennik's hair, going with him to spy on what these strange people might do to his favorite chew toy. Both men helped carry Xennik in, the movements half-rousing him. Xennik could feel himself moving, his arms draped around the shoulders of men he didn't recognize, but...who cared? Dang, he was so tired... The men followed Auri through the back door of th ecoffee shop and down a flight of stairs, the door opened for them, and a silent cheer went up when Xennik was brought in, then he was taken to a small room and helped into a bed. Xennik's mind was stuffy with exhaustion, but the chloroform was definetly wearing off. Regen and six of he Spritkin hovered near Auri, watching the men carry Xennik off, a worried look on Regen's face while the Spritkin looked around their new environment with interest. Critical grey eyes watched every movement of the men as they carried Xennik into the small bedroom that was kept under the coffee shop, before she turned to those present, a determined and authoritative look in her eye. "I want fresh food, some coffee and some water brought down here for when he wakes up. His mind's going to be fuzzy as hell, and he's probably going to be in a very bad mood so I want you guys to leave him alone for the rest of the night and let him rest after I leave. I'll stay here until he wakes up and explain things too him, I imagine he's going to want answers for why I knocked him out the way I did. Everyone understand? Oh, by the way. Good job guys." She nodded her head and smiled, her eyes turning to look at Regen and the Spiritkin and she gestured for them to follow her, making their way into the room where Xennik had been placed. "He's going to wake up soon, so be prepared. He'll probably be in a very bad mood, but I want you guys to remember it's not directed at you, it's directed at me and the current situation he's in, alright?" Regen's worried expression did not leave her face as she and the other six Spritkin followed Auri into Xennik's temporary bedroom. The sky outside the coffee shop was likely as stormy as her troubled expression as she watched Xennik with worry, practically expecting him to blow up when he woke. Some of the members were conducting quick tests on him, checking his clothes and teeth for tracking devices and making sure that he was in fairly good health. Satisfied, the left the room and sent people scurrying for the things Auri had demanded. Xennik finally woke with a groan, his hand moving sluggishly up to his forehead and pressing on his temples. It only took him a moment after that to realize that he wasn't where he was supposed to be. "Where am I?" he asked, his voice still dull from sleepiness, his eyes still glazed and unseeing. Auri once more watched what was being done to Xennik closely before she settled down to wait for him to wake up, and apparently it wasn't going to be nearly as long a wait as she had thought. She frowned as she watched him rub his temples and she stood then. "I'll explain in just a moment." She slipped out and into the bathroom, grabbing a few paper towels and wetting them down before ringing them out until they offered just a cool dampness. She returned to Xennik's room then, settling into a chair next to his bed and attempting to gently lay the wet paper towels over his forehead. "Here, this might help a little." She sighed and settled back into the chair, shaking her head. "You're in Barton Town, beneath a small coffee shop. I'm sorry for knocking you out like that, but apparently they wanted this staged as a kidnapping." Her eyes watched him closely, both ready to run if he decided to get -really- mad, while at the same time ready to get him whatever he needed to be comfortable. The cool dampess on his forehead brought Xennik to reality. He sat up, blinking. "What?" He turned on Auri accusingly. "You kidnapped me? What is wrong with you? How-" Regen cut in at that moment, spinning excitedly before her guardian. "She says we're going to be fwee! And you'll get all bettered up and we kin spend time ou'side and do fun stuff!" She squealed excitedly. Xennik's gaze left Regen and snapped back to Auri. "What? Why are you telling her things like that?" His eyes pierced hers, his expression strangely mixed; part anger, part confusion, part hurt. The expression on her face went from shock, to a little bit of hurt, then to shame and finally to anger. She stood then and growled, wrapping her arms around her stomach. "You make it sound like I was lieing to her! You can be free, to make your own decisions, to do what you want, to raise Regen someplace where she can meet others of her kind, and where she can be out in the world instead of locked in a room most of her life! You emailed me Xennik. The kidnapping was not -my- idea, you have very odd doctors who spend too much time trying to play secret agent. But their help was neccessary and it worked. I'm sorry I had to use methods I wouldn't particularly agree with. But -you- emailed me. Which meant you were ready to get out." She sighed, dropping her head into her hand as she rubbed her temples. "Or were you not ready?" Her head remained hung and she leaned up against a wall across from him. "You are free to live your life however you wish, Xennik. Free to look into other alternatives for bettering your body. Or, should you wish, free to continue hiding yourself away from the world by locking yourself into your own mental prison of fear and denial. But either way, you've been given that choice." "I-I never thought you'd go through with it!" Xennik cried, jumping to his feet. This explained two things - he could stand on his own, and speak without stuttering. He hadn't been able to the last time they'd met. "Those-these people are crazy! They think they know what's best, but they have no idea! I can't survive out here. What if the Clinic tries to find me? I'll be all too easy to track, and, and, and-!" Xennik hissed in frustration, glowering at her, out of ideas. He collapsed back onto the bed, his jaw clenched. Regen was now cowering in Auri's hair, the Spritkin hiding under the bed, fearful of Xennik's temper. Xennik looked like he was about to cry from frustration, his fists clenching the blanket he sat on, unable to look up at her as he tried to straighten out his thoughts.

[Xennik and AuroraFiara - Continued]A soft growl came up from Aurora's throat, and the way her fingers dug deep into her stomach showed just how much she was trying to hold her emotions back so she could speak calmly. "Then go back, Xennik. It was staged as a kidnapping, they'd never suspect you were involved." She winced slightly as she pulled her fingers away from her stomach, there'd be bruises there tomorrow, she knew it. "I'm sorry... I'll leave you alone." She gently extracted Regen from her hair and walked over to Xennik, reaching foward to try to grasp his wrist, and if he didn't pull away she'd gently place the little Wethkin in his hand. The entire time she refused to look at him, turning to head out the door. Xennik did jerk away, instinctively, but moved his hand forward again to take Regen in his palm, his brow furrowed. As Auri turned away, he grabbed her arm with his hand, pulling her back and preventing her from leaving unless she shook him off. Which probably would be fairly easy to do, actually. "Auri...do you...actually think I...can...?" His eyes looked desperately into hers, trying to absorb some of her never-ending confidence. The young woman allowed herself to be pulled back, her eyes slowly lifting to Xennik's questioningly. A hundred different emotions shifted in her eyes, between fear of his anger, uncertainty about whether or not they'd done the right thing, and a little hurt over the whole situation. She had turned in on herself, becoming more introverted then usual. Her normal confidence that Xennik was seeking for himself was buried under the torrents of other emotions. She stared at him for a moment after his question was asked, though her face suddenly became blank and unreadable. She smiled weakly then, almost shyly as though she expected him to blow up again, then shrugged her shoulders. "If I thought you weak, Xennik, I wouldn't have come back." Her voice was incredibly quiet, barely above a whisper. It was obvious she was attempting to walk on eggshells now. Her expression was less than reassuring. Xennik let his eyes drop from her face, feeling strangely foolish and overcome with a feeling of helplessness. Alright, so he was out. Now what? He would never survive in this world. Sensing his failing confidence, Regen smiled a sunny smile. "I dun think yur weak, neither!" She chirped. Auri lofted a brow quietly at Regen and she smiled at the young Wethkin, chuckling. "She must get her attitude from Dessin." She looked up at Xennik once more, her face falling back to become serioues. "I'm sorry for what we did, and if you want to go back then maybe you should. But all those people out there, they worked hard to get you out. I worked hard too. Do you think I would have had Cira practically locked up for six months if I thought for a moment you'd go right back to the clinic? She's stopped talking, Xennik. We only finally got to go home last week. She won't.. she won't talk to me.. and she always looks so sad now..." She turned away so he wouldn't see the tears gathering unshed in her eyes, her teeth coming to bite down hard on her lip, trying to keep them away. Xennik's face darkened for the fraction of a second at the mention of Dessin's name, and he cast a quizzical look from Regen to Auri before shifting uncomfortably and choosing to ignore the statement. "Cira's...stopped talking?" He asked, glad for a distraction from the current situation. He could worry about himself when Auri wasn't here. For whatever reason, he was oddly reluctant to cuss her out for putting him in this situation. Besides, he still felt guilty and foolish, yet another strange emotion. He must be in shock or something. The chloroform might have done something to his system. Yes, he knew it had been chloroform. He hadn't gone through all those years of school to e a bodyguard without knowing what chloroform was. Regen nodded gravely. "She's head-sick. Auwi says she'll be all better when she sees me!"

[Xennik and AuroraFiara - Continued]"Well, she'll feel better when she sees you, Regen, but I don't think she'll be completely better. That's going to take time, and it's going to be completely up to her when she decides to talk again." Auri sighed gently, having composed herself she wiped at her eyes before turning around once more to face Xennik. "She'll be alright.." It was Auri's greatest hope that Cira would get better, and soon, but part of her worried every night that she might never get better. "After your email I contacted those that wanted to get you out and found out that they'd set up headquarters down here. They didn't really trust me, so had demanded that I stay here and not have any contact with the outside world. Most of them couldn't see Cira, either. The only reason I agreed was because I thought we'd get you out of there fairly quick. But... after 6 months I finally had to put my foot down. Cira didn't get to go outside, or see other Wethkin, and we could only really talk at night, after everyone had left or gone to be. About 3 weeks before we left she stopped talking all together..." The expression on Xennik's face softened when he saw her obvious worry over her Wethkin's health. He looked at her for a moent before saying, almost shyly. "When I wouldn't speak, I had a speech tutor drag the speech out of me. She was rather affective.....And she can see Regen." "We talk sometimes!" Regen chirped, taking hold of Medley, who happened to be flying by, and stroking its head. It didn't seem to mind the attention. She had been about to add something else very interesting, but Xennik spoke, and she obediently silenced herself, content to pet the Spritkin she held. "She might be able to help. Her name is Arika Viadia." He cast his eyes down, something just occuring to him. "But she's part of..." He was unaware that she was a member of the Underground. A gentle smile crossed Auri's face as she watched Xennik and Regen before she chuckled and shrugged her shoulders gently. "I didn't know Arika could see the Wethkin. Although, considering what I saw Aran do tonight it makes sense. Them being brother and sister and all. I wonder if he managed to get her out earlier." Her eyes went to the door as she mused gently, before turning back to Regen and Xennik. "Arika was on distraction duty. She's the one that created all that commotion so I could get in and get you out. Dr. Florrant disabled Term for us so he wouldn't ruin anything by announcing my precence. And Aran, he's the one that carried you out the window and to the car." She didn't mind explaining what happened, Xennik might feel a bit better knowing who was on what side. "I'm not sure if Arika is coming back here or not, though." She paused again, running a critical eye over Xennik's shyness before she grinned. "Seems like she's special to you." "Mmm.." Xennik murmurred as she explained all that had happened. He had met Aran a time or two before. The man had to be the most frightening creature Xennik had ever laid eyes on. That guy had carried him? Out the window of a four-story building? Good greif. A blush quickly spread over Xennik's face at what she assumed. "What makes you think that?" he mumbled, looking away from her. He felt fondly for Arika because she had always been nice - not the 'sympathy nice' but real nice - and it had been her alone that had gotten him speaking again without the annoying stutter. Even when he'd been angry at the Clinic and had been giving them all the silent treatment (he'd managed three weeks without talking to anyone but Regen), her force of character alone had dragged it out of him. Auri suddenly grinned again and she chuckled, shaking her head as she moved once more to lean against a wall, not finding a better spot to sit and not wanting to invade Xennik's privacy by sitting on 'his' bed. She merely shrugged her shoulders once and moved her hand out in a gentle arc to gesture towards his blush and his turning away. "That." She merely smiled, then opted to change the subject. "I shouldn't stay too much longer, Cira is at home with just Keeran and Gin to protect her. They're two... cat-like creatures that have adopted us apparently. They really see to like her, especially Gin." She frowned then, tilting her head as if in contemplation. "I mean, do you feel comfortable being here alone? If you don't, I can go pick her up and hang out until you feel better." "Adopted you, hmm?" Xennik asked in a soft voice. "I know how you feel." He cast a glance at Regen and the seven Spritkin, more than most people had or could even imagine controlling. They seemed to be attracted to Xennik's essence like flies to honey. His face took on a look of horror as she suggested leaving. She was leaving him here?! Alone? But- Xennik swallowed his horror, but he still looked sick to his stomach. "I...I suppose-" "You bring Cira here?!" Reegen squealed happily, causing all of the Spritkin to chorus in glee as well. Auri nodded her head lightly as she thought about Keeran and Gin. "Yeah, we were just walking around when we came across them. Adorably cute kitten-like creatures with two tails, and oddly colored markings. Gin is black with green stripes, and Keern is black with silver. Anyway, we brought them some deli meat back from the house and they followed us all the way home." She lofted a brow suddenly as Xennik looked like he was in serious need of a bathroom and she rolled her eyes at him, before grinning at Regen. "You need to teach him to not be afraid to ask for help when he needs it, Regen. Cause he's a horrible, horrible liar." She smirked gently and shook her head at Xennik. "I'll go get Cira and bring her back here. Maybe seeing Regen will do her some good." She yawned then a bit and grimaced. "Though I will have to get some sleep at some point, I'll have to look for a chair or something, or see if they've got an extra cot around here somewhere when I get back." She smiled at Xennik warmly. "I assume you'll be alright while I'm gone?" Regen giggled as though she were in on a mischeivous secret. Xennik scowled. "I'll be fine." He informed her grouchily, annoyed that he was the butt of another joke. "You don't need to return if you don't want to." Regen and the Spritkin's faces fell and in unison they cried, "Aaaaaaaw!" Xennik sighed in distress, but didn't continue pressing her. "It's your choice." He informed her, looking unhappily at the corner of the bed on which he sat. Auri smiled gently as she reached over to try to pat Xennik on the shoulder warmly. "Relax, I'll be back. More for myself then you... I need to know if seeing Regen and the Spiritkin will help Cira. If it doesn't... then I won't lose more time in trying to figure out what else to do, you know?" She smiled again, though this time it was full of stress and worries. "I shouldn't be too long, I hope. It's a long drive here, but I think I'll fly with her instead, she should be able to fit in the neck pouch I still have." She nodded to herself, before turning to head out the door. "I told them to get you food and water, hopefully they'll bring it soon. Is there anything you want me to tell them to get you while I'm gone?" How about getting me out of here? Xennik thought, but bit back his asnwer. He didn't really want to go back, he knew that. But he didn't want to remain here. He felt even more like a prisoner here than he had in the Clinic. At least there he'd had a window... "No. Nothing." he said instead, his voice soft with melancholy and thoughfulness. What happens next? He wondered. Where do I go from here? Certainly they don't plan to keep me down here for the rest of my life! She watched the emotions flit across her face and she sighed gently, shaking her head. "If you need anything, just head out into the main room, I'm sure someone there would be more then happy to help you out." She moved towards the door, her fingers grasping the handle before she paused and grinned to him, a bit of her confidence back in her stature now. "Everything'll be fine. I promise." She opened the door and slipped out, off to gather up Cira. How can you keep that promise, though? How do you know? Xennik shivered, wrapping his arms around himself. He couldn't explain how he felt. Lonely? No, he was so used to lonely that he never really felt it anymore. Besides, Regen and the Spritkin were right there. It must have been the change of scenery that had thrown him off. Yes, that was it. Everything had happened so fast...he was just naturally introverted. That was all. Regen -as always- sensed his feelings and flew to him, accompanied by the Spritkin. She snuggled into his shirt pocket, pressing herself against his chest. She could feel the beating of his heart this way, feel the warmth that proved that he was still alive. All of the Spritkin landed on various perches, all snuggling Xennik affectionately. He had to laugh at their behavior. "Alright, what do you guys want?" He asked good-naturedly, picking Dolce up in his hands and bringing her closer to his face, smiling. The small woman slipped out of the building as quietly as she could, and hopefully without attracting too much attention. She'd come to know most of these people, but she didn't want them to suddenly be aware of just what exactly she was. With Dr. Florrant it didn't really matter, he probably didn't believe his eyes if he did see her back at the clinic. She walked for a bit away from the coffee shop, trying to put a safe distance between her and it before she gently tugged a feather out from her jacket pocket. It was one she kept with her at all times, in case she needed speed on her side. The usual procedure was accomplished, and instead of Aurora standing there on the side of a deserted road, there was a peregrine falcon who looked like she was just getting her bearings. With a great swoop of her wings she lifted up and into the air, heading in the direction towards her home. She paced herself as well as she could, not wanting to use up too much energy on the way there, since she'd need it on the way back. The thought of her and Cira resting in a random place wasn't something that appealed to her at all. For a long time she allowed the feeling of the wind in her feathers to comfort and relax her, taking away her cares and her worries for just a little bit. While she was flying she could almost forget the world around her and just enjoy life for a bit like she used to. Xennik let out a sigh as he laid back on his elbows on the creaky little bed. A man he didn't recognize brought a small plate of food in for him. Nothing fancy, just some coffee, a donut, a cup of vegetable stew, and some graham crackers. Not a coffee drinker, he set the coffee aside and offered up the donut as sacrifice to the Seven Horrors. He broke a bit off the graham cracker and handed it to Regen, who ate it quickly and then looked curiously at the stew. She was used to always eating Xennik's Jell-o, but had still somehow gained a taste for salty foods, an odd thing for a Wethkin. Xennik wasn't very hungry. too much had happened that day, and he had horrible eating habits to begin with, so he shared the stew with Regen (who couldn't eat very much of it before she was stuffed, ate a bit of it himself, and set it aside with the coffee. He ate all of the graham crackers, though, nibbling them slowly, if not for the sake of eating than just to have something to do while he waited for Auri's return. After Auri had finally arrived at her house, it didn't take her too long to change back, pick Cira up, and then be on her way towards the clinic once more. Cira was quiet, though that wasn't really shocking, but Auri hadn't told her where they were going. She told her she had a surprise waiting for her, but that it might take a bit to get to it. So, Cira went back to sleep inside her little neck pouch, considering it was pretty late for the little Wethkin anyway, but for her to see some of her own kind and get some interaction, Auri was willing to sacrifice some of the little creature's sleep. They flew for what seemed like forever to Auri, so anxious she was to see how Cira would react to Regen, though to the sleeping Wethkin it seemed like they'd only just left the house before Auri landed, changed and walked down into the underground part of the coffee shop. At the sight of the shop Cira immediately looked crestfallen, and almost looked completely depressed. She had, after all, spent six months of her life cooped up in that place, but Auri merely smiled at her and continued in. Cira was surprised when she walked right past everyone and into the little room in the back. What was going on? Xennik had been dozing, most of his food untouched by himself. The tray that the food had been delivered on had been turned upside down and placed on top of the untouched coffee. Xennik really didn't want to know what would happen if the Seven Horrors hapened to get their hands on it. They were hyper enough already. He shook himself awake quickly when the door opened and Auri walked in, smiling, but looking anxious. Regen had been asleep on Xennik's shoulder, snuggled up against his neck, but woke up when Xennik sat up, looking slightly embarrassed to be caught asleep. "Vhut time es et?" she mumbled groggily, gingerly rubbing her eyes.

[Xennik and AuroraFiara - Continued]Gingerly Auri closed the door behind her as she slipped in, giving an apologetic smile to Xennik for waking him up, before turning her attention to Cira who'd finally come out of the little pouch. Of course, at the sight of Xennik and Regen, plus the 'Seven Horrors', she immediately flew back in. Auri blinked in surprise and frowned at her in contemplation, very gently poking the pouch. "Cira? Sweetie it's alright, it's just Xennik and Regen, and all the Spiritkin." She didn't know their names. "Remember? We came to visit them one day at the clinic?" Auri looked at Xennik helplessly, shrugging her shoulders slightly when the little Wethkin didn't budge. Xennik's expression softened as he watched her, propped up on his elbows on the bed. A few of the Spritkin were asleep, but most of them (by now anyway) seemed to still have lots of energy as they crowded around the pouch with delighted ooohs and squeaks. "Ciiira?" Regen asked, floating into the air, cocking her head. How come she had growed up, but Cira hadn't? "Vivace, Dolce, Presto, Medley, get over here, you're scaring the poor thing." Xennik commanded the Spritkin with surprising patience. A grateful smile was passed Xennik's way as Auri waited patiently for Cira to gain back her courage and come out. Slowly the top of the little gumball puff and two little eyes peeked out at Regen, wide with shock and surprise, and a little uncertainty. "It's alright, Cira. I promise, there's nothing to be scared of. You remember Regen, don't you?" The pouch moved in a motion that might have been considered a nod on Cira's part, and slowly but surely the little Wethkin came out of hiding and peered at Regen curiously. She got bigger, apparently, and Cira was a little envious. Regen was so pretty! Auri moved over to sit on Xennik's bed, hoping he didn't mind. She had, after all, been flying for awhile, she needed to sit. Regen smiled happily, only hesitating a moment before zooming forward and wrapping her friend in a warm hug. "'Allo Cira! Yong time no seein', huh?" Xennik folded his legs as she made toward the bed, recognizing her exhaustion and making room for her to sit. He watched the two Wethkin out of the corner of his eye, his attention divided now between Auri (he still wasn't used to having anyone but hi stutors near him), the two girls, and the more hyper of the Spritkin, who he was entertaining with a little device made of strings tied to his fingers with little sprinkles at the end. The Spritkin were so busy trying to catch the little sugery sweets that they left the two Wethkin alone. Cira seemed to be hesitant about the hug, tensing for a moment before she slowly relaxed into it and even seemed to smile at the contact. She would return it except.. well.. she didn't have any arms yet. So, she merely snuggled into Regen and once again nodded her entire body in agreement with the other Wethkin. Auri yawned gently, but smiled as she watched the two of them, suddenly feeling like maybe things would be alright again. Not tomorrow, but someday. "Thank you." She whispered to Xennik quietly, giggling a little in amusement at the Spiritkin. Regen grinned at her friend. "Zshen 'n' I are kidnap! That means we're free! Like yous guys! 'N' we kin go for walks in the park and icecream and popsicles and e'erything whene'er we want to! So cool, right?" "They're small-minded creatures," Xennik said with an amused, distracted smile. "Find something sugary, colorful, and moving and you can entertain them for hours." Cira seemed really happy that Regen was glad to be out of the clinic, and suddenly she started to wonder if all that time had been so bad. Well, of course it had been bad, but had it been worth it? The other Wethkin seemed so happy now that she wasn't cooped up in one room all the time, and suddenly Cira realized now what Regen had been going through. The same thing that Cira went through while they were working to break Xennik out. The little sunshine puff felt connected to Regen now, and she smiled at her warmly. "Ta.." Her voice was a little hoarse from lack of talking, but there it was. Auri nodded her head gently at Xennik, still amused by the little Spiritkins. It was like dangling a feather in front of a kitten, just too adorable. Her smile fell for a moment, and she turned to look at Cira with wide eyes. "Did she just...?" Tears suddenly sprung to her eyes at the sound of her Cira's voice once more. With an incredible amount of willpower she resisted the urge to go over and crush Cira in a tight hug, afraid of scaring the Wethkin back into silence. Regen squealed happily, squeezing Cira in a bear hug of joy, though she didn't say why she was so joyful. A small smile tugged at Xennik's lips and he relaxed. He hadn't realized how tense he'd been until he let his taut muscles relax. He'd practically been holding his breath, waiting to see what Cira would do, ad if Regen would be able to help her. The little sunshine puff seemed surprised when Regen suddenly squealed and gave her a huge hug. What was she suddenly so happy about? Cira just couldn't figure out what was going on, and why was Auri crying, and Xennik looked happy too. She frowned, deep in thought and confused, but Regen's happiness was contagious and soon Cira was smiling again and relaxing happily into Regen's hug. It was nice to be around her kind again, nice to feel so much attention on her. "Ita?" Auri's smile suddenly grew wide through the tears that were now streaming down her face, shaking her head gently at Cira. "They're happy tears, sweetie. I'm just happy that you're happy, that's all." Cira seemed confused by the concept of 'happy tears', but she accepted the explination at face value and cooed softly. Aurora, too, seemed to relax all of a sudden, her shoulders and back slumping slightly, as though a thousand weights had just been lifted off her shoulder. She looked as tired as she felt now, too, as the stress and worries that had been keeping her up slowly drained away from her body. Regen's cheeks were rosy with happiness, and she was bubbling with joy. All of the happiness in the room had affected the Spritkin, and they were zooming, hopping, boucing, and crashing all over the room. Xennik rolled his eyes, the happy smile still plastered almost awkwardly -but sincerely- on the face that didn't usually smile above a small half-smile. He pulled the strings off of his hands and placed them back in the bag, and then in his pocket from which he'd taken them, then turned his attention to Auri, who seemed to have melted with exhaustion and happiness. Her face was still wet with tears, but her relieved smile seemed to radiate from her. She was beautiful when she smiled like that. Xennik turned away, pretending to be very interested in Jog's hyperactivity in order to hide his look of embarrassment from Auri. Good greif, all this gooey goody-goody happiness was getting to him! He chuckled to himself at his own thoughts. Cira, satisfed that her 'mom' was indeed alright, turned her attention back to Regen and she smiled at her gently. Things seemed to come into place in her life, maybe she didn't completely understand everything, but she was beginning to learn about sacrifices made in life to help others. She sort of understood now that Aurora had given things up, though Cira didn't know what exactly, to help Xennik and Regen, and Cira had needed to give things up too. But now they were back to normal, with the added plus that Regen and Xennik both seemed to radiate happiness. Though Xennik was also projecting a bit of fear and apprehension that Cira couldn't really understand. But still, for now, life seemed good. Her little round body hovered foward a bit, and she bumped into Regen playfully, though she was still a little shy. Auri continued to watch the two Wethkin's quietly, completely oblivious to any of Xennik's looks or thoughts. All she could see now was Cira, who was almost like she used to be. The woman held no hopes that Cira would go right back to how she was, or even that she ever would. But... as long as Cira wasn't depressed anymore, Auri could live with whatever she could get. "Thank you, Xennik... for letting me bring her here." She bit down on her lip and lifted a hand to wipe at the tear streaks on her cheeks, blushing at her uninhibited display of emotion in front of him. Ecstatic, Regen grabbed her firend and danced with her in the air, cooing and singing happily. A feeling of guilt tugged at Xennik's heartstrings. He had almost not wanted her to come back. He'd almost discouraged her from returning. It wasn't her fault that he wasn't prepared to head back into the 'real world', but he had been blaming his discomfort on her from the very beginning. She had been the first one, after all, to put the idea in his head that leaving was possible. She'd been the one who had given him the stupid hope that maybe it was possible, despite how quickly his tutors and doctors snuffed the idea of his even going outside. She was so happy, and he had almost denied her of this magical moment. He looked down at the bed between them, ashamed of himself for being so selfish. Cira burbled happily as Regen danced around the room with her, trying her best to dance with her, even though she had no limbs to dance with. "Taaa." A soft look of worry crossed Auri's face as she watched Xennik's emotions play out across his face. "Xennik...? What's wrong..?" Does he want us to leave? Auri, you idiot, you've intruded on his life in probably the biggest way possible by kidnapping him from that place. Why would he want you to -stay-? She grimaced at her own thoughts and looked down as well, gently chewing on her lower lip as she shuffled her feet on the floor. "I'm sorry... for sticking my nose where it didn't belong. Mainly... in your life. If you want us to leave, please don't hesitate to tell me. I don't want to be anymore of a bother then I already have been." Bother? Understatement much, Auri? As thrilled as Regen was, the guilt and uncertainty radiating from their guardians distracted her form her dancing. She glanced over at the two, finding them in nearly identical poses, staring at basically the same area of the bedspread, both looking awkward. She cocked her head, trying to understand how they were feeling. It was a little difficult. Adults had ways of tying their emotions in knots. Xennik bit his lip, unsure of how to respond. She didn't really owe him an apology... Did she? She'd only been trying to help him. He couldn't decide if he wanted her to go or stay. It might have been better for them both if she went, but she looked so tired. And...he hated to admit it, and his pride denied it fervently, but...well, he was a little afraid to be alone. Finally, he glanced up at her, his eyes cloudy and his more common (at least to Regen) shy, tender half-smile on his face. "No." He said in a soft voice. His voice sped up as he tried to explain himself. "You see, if you weren't here...and you hadn't kept...well, I wouldn't...I wouldn't really have any..." his voice took on a melancholy, but honest tone, "friends. So, I guess..." He bent forward, leaning on his left hand as his right gently brushed her cheek. He stood on his knees and hand on the bed and kissed her on the cheek. Cira stopped dancing when Regen did, her eyes following the other Wethkin's as she curiously wanted to know what made her stop. Seeing Auri and Xennik looking the way they did almost made her giggle it was so comical. Were they doing that on purpose? No, Cira could see the lack of confidence that was normal in Auri's pose, and the worrying of her bottom lip was a telltale sign that she was worried or stressed somehow. Aurora was nearly on edge as she waited for Xennik to respond, and she'd almost opened her mouth to apologize and say that she and Cira would go so he could be alone with Regen and the Spiritkin when she'd heard him talk. Her head lifted up quietly as she watched him, patiently waiting for him to get out what he wanted to say. Once more she started to open her mouth to tell him that she'd always be his friend as long as he wanted her to be, when she saw his hand lift and felt the warm skin against her cheek. Surprise was obviously etched across her face, though not neccessarily displeasure. It'd been a long time since anyone had shown her any sort of affection and it was certainly not what she was expecting. And when he leaned over to kiss her cheek, a deep blush colored her face and it suddenly seemed like she'd picked up Xennik's old habit for stammering. "I um.. Y.you never have to worry about not... having a friend. I mean.. as long as.. well.. until you tell me you don't want me to be your friend."

[Xennik and AuroraFiara - Continued]Xennik pulled away quickly, sitting on his legs, looking as embarrassed as Auri did. "I...I'm sorry. I shouldn't have...I-" He bit his lip, staring at the floor. Cira could control herself, but Regen couldn't. She giggled at the two adults, her own face flushed as well, reflecting their emotions. Her giggling caused Xennik's blush to deepen and he winced slightly. He hadn't remembered that they had an audience in his spur-of-the-moment show of affection. He glanced up at her, her words finally sinking in. "Really?" He whispered. Cira couldn't control herself any longer after Regen started giggling and she did too, but her attention demanded more interesting things, so she slowly began to explore the room, making sure to avoid the hyper-active Spiritkin in her little adventure. Aurora blushed again and she shook her head, smiling shyly. "No it.. it's alright. I didn't.. mind." She glanced down, her face now a deep pink as she lifted a hand to gently run it through her hair, her cheek still tingling from the quick contact. She paused to listen to him, before nodding her head gently. "You haven't managed to get rid of me yet, have you?" She was teasing him now. Xennik laughed, a kind of choked little chuckle as he ran his fingers through his hair nervously. Way to go, Xennik. He thought, now you'll never be able to look at her again! Kisses always seemed to make everything better in books. Having rarely dated (and definetly not within the last four years), his veiws of romance were a little naiive. Regen followed Cira around, interested, realizing that Xennik wasn't in the mood to be teased. Aurora might have enjoyed the kiss a bit more if it hadn't immediately brought up thoughts of Pales. She hadn't seen nor heard from him in six months, obviously, nor had she been able to talk to him when she finally go back to her own home. She didn't know where the two of them stood after she'd disappeared on him twice, one time right after the other. Those thoughts really kept her from knowing how to react. Still, she smiled reassuringly to Xennik, but suddenly found herself uncertain about what to say. Though anything she might have said was quickly cut off by a large yawn, which she tried hard to stifle. "Sorry.. I'm tired. It's been a.. tiring night. Not in a bad way, just lots of emotions going this way and that, plus all the flying and such, y'know?" She sighed, partly afraid to leave in case he decided he never wanted her to come back. She was sorely lacking in the friend department, and so was Cira. "Guess I should start looking for a cot or a chair. At the very least a blanket and an empty spot of floor somewhere." Cira darted under the bed all of a sudden at Auri's words. She was trying to hide because she didn't want to leave Regen, now that she'd finally had someone to talk to. Xennik nodded, his own thoughts still boiling in his mind, making it hard for him to think of a witty or any other kind of response at all. Wordlessly, he beckoned to the Spritkin, wishing that he had their little home to trap them in for the night. Ah, well, he'd have to live without it for now. Maybe he could make another one. He doubted he'd be able to talk anyone into fetching it for him. And Regen's Pond... Those were replacable. Regen would hardly miss it. They just might have a few nibble-marks from the Spritkin by morning. The Spritkin obediently clustered around him, a little thrown off by the lack of their usual bed Another bite of her lip and she was now officially chewing on it as she watched him, his silence unnerving her and making her unsure of what to do. She'd seen Cira dart under the bed, and could guess pretty well at what the little Wethkin was thinking, and she was loathe to take her away from Regen right now too. "Um.. I'll leave Cira in here with Regen, if that's alright. If it's not that's okay, she can sleep somewhere with me..." "No, no, that's fine." He reassured her with his gentle smile, looking distractedly around the small room for a place to stash the Spritkin hoarde. Preferably a place where they couldn't escape in the night to nibble on unsuspecting peoples... "Whacha doin'?" Regen asked, peeking under the bed where Cira hid. Aurora nodded gently before she stood a little awkwardly. "Alright, well, I'm going to go see if I can find a place to crash." She paused for a moment, hesitating, before leaning over to return his earlier kiss to the cheek, hoping that might let him know that she didn't think badly of him for it or anything, and that things were cool. She smiled, blushed, said goodnight to Cira, and then moved to slip out the door as quickly as possible before her face turned the color of a ripe strawberry. Cira blinked at Regen and grinned. "Hidy f.. f..from momma." Xennik's eyes widened and his mouth fell open slightly when she kissed him on the cheek. "Well...I-um...alright. I...I guess I'll see you in the morning, then?" He watched her as she left, then pulled his knees up to his chest, wrapping his arms around his knees and burying his face in his arms. The Spritkin scattered. Regen giggled. "That's silly! Yo' momma idn't even here no longer!" Cira poked her head out just as Auri closed the door and she smiled happily, glad that she was going to get to stay here with Regen. She bounced happily and snuggled up against the other Wethkin, still craving contact and attention from her own kind. Auri rested her back against the door and let out a soft sigh, lifting her hand once more to run her fingers through her hair. Ignoring the looks from those around her she started searching for a place to sleep. Finding nothing wonderful, obviously, she settled into one of the plastic chairs that were scattered around and laid her head down on her arms that were now resting on a table. Oh man, was she going to regret this tomorrow. Wonder if I managed to screw it all up again. Idiot. You're always doing these things Auri. You're no good socially. She sighed unhappily and buried her head into her arms, trying to will her mind to shut down and her body to sleep. [THE END]

Quote: Dear Diary, Well...I'm out. Free, I guess. Except for the fact that I'm now stuck in the basement of some coffee shop somewhere in Barton with a bunch of strangers, I could say that I was doing fine. Well, I have gotten used to my little cell. Alright, room. It does look a tad roomier now that some of my stuff is in here. I don't know who brought me my veiw possessions, but I'm glad they did. They basically just brought me a change of clothes for today, my usual medications, and, thank the heavens, my gun. Bless whoever had the insight to bring that to me. I honestly don't know why I tote the thing around with me all these years, but it does mean a lot to me. Kind of like my only connection to the world the used to have. And now I've moved on again. I never thought it would be possible, but it happened. A group called the 'Underground' apparently has a bone to pick with the clinic, and I'm stuck right in the middle. According to the Underground, the Clinic has been using me to make extra money, which they haven't been using on me, which is illegal. And apparently what they ARE using it for is illegal, too. So whoot. I've been told that my staying here will only be temporary. I'm moving somewhere soon. No one's bothered to tell me where 'somewhere' is, though. So obnoxious. I hate not knowing what's going on in my own life. And it's freaky finding out who all is involved in the Underground as spies. Nurses, doctors, even technicians for the Clinic including Arika, Dr. Florrant, Arika's extremely scary older brother Aran, and an electrician named Ned. And Auri. Auri was the one who supposedly kidnapped me. I feel so guilty for the way that I treated her. She was only trying to help me, she'd done so much for me, only for me to blow up and blame everything on her. But, despite everything, I think I actually made a friend in her. And that's even scarier to think about. I'm so stupid. She's probably married, for all I know, but I can't stop thinking about her, and how nice it felt to kiss her on the cheek -which I shouldn't have done- and how it felt even better when she kissed me back. Oh, gag. If anyone ever reads this diary, I think I'll die. Here I am, pitiful handicapped loser who's just been kidnapped/saved from his rehabilitation clinic by an underground group trying to put them out of business, and I have the nerve to crush on a girl I barely know, who's completely out of my league anyway. I shouldn't even be writing this down. It just makes it more real, and makes me feel more like a fool. I think I'm going to stop now and go scrounge around, see if I can force information out of anyone. And keep my mind off of Auri. Gosh, it's not like this is even my first crush. It'll wear off. It's not like she actually kissed me, anyway. It was just a peck on the cheek. Why am I still thinking about it? And even worse, why am I still writing about it? I actually wish for once that the Spritkin were awake to distract me. -Xennik
