Alana halted from her running with a skid at the sight of the soldier, she stood still as a stone and stared at the battle scarred face. No no no panic flooded her brain and she fought back hot tears of frustration It can't end this way.
A soft wind played with her dark brown hair, from in between the sand colored houses a few of the setting suns last rays shined. The swords of both girl and warrior seemed to catch and hold the golden light, some may have seen the beauty of such a summer evening, but Alana was too scared to notice it.
Wait, Alana. Remember what Jake said hope flickered in her mind as she thought back to the few days she had spent at the temple One of my two is Empathy.
As the soldier raised his sword and took a step forward Alana closed her eyes and focused hard on his image.
Empathy. . .You can understand. . .I've done nothing wrong. . .Let me go. . .I don't have time to fight with you. . .You can relate.
He stopped and lowered his sword a little as Alana opened her eyes, for the first time the silence was broken. "I have a girl around your age. . ." his voice was hard and scratchy, but there was something light in it as he looked into Alana's hopeful face.
Taking her chance Alana ran for it, down the sand covered stone road and past the town gate. The soldier never followed.
(( Okay guys, jump in. ))

Spyro was walking down the road to the town from visiting his old military base. He saw a figure sprinting away from the small town. When she was looking behind her she careened straight into the unfortunate Spyro sending him and the small cat he was holding head over heels into the dust. She fell over also some two feet away. "What the..." he said holding the side of his jaw which was now a light purple color. He looked at the young apparently warrior. "Agh, who are you? You really shouldn't run into people like that" he said getting up while supporting himself with his staff. He picked up the cat and brushed it off.

Alana sheathed her sword as she ran, her mind buzzed after the encounter with the soldier I did it! It worked, Jake would be so proud if he knew. Will that soldier tell them where I went? Will I make it out? I have to keep running, if I can make it to Rona before long. . . She kept up the pace and chanced a glance back at the town. . .
. . .SMACK
Alana ran head on into a man and his cat, she stumbled backwards and landed awkwardly on her butt. Before a few seconds had passed she was up on her feet, the first thought that came to her mind was to run away, then logic kicked in as the man spoke.
"Agh, who are you? You really shouldn't run into people like that"
Phew, he didn't know who she was, he wasn't one of those crazy men at arms that had started seeking her out of the blue a few weeks back. She looked up into his face and stammered "Me. . .I, I'm Kaylin" she spoke the first name that came to her mind, the name of a childhood friend, better to not give away her identity "I'm so sorry sir, I'm late for something, please forgive me."

"Oh it's quite alright, I should be asking you to forgive me. Nice to meet you Kaylin, even if in the awkwardest of consequences". He held out his hand as to shake. "But please don't let me keep you from your appointment" He started to bend her mind a little with glee making her feel a little happier. "Are you injured?" he said petting his cat who was now in a quite 'pissed off' state.
