At this, Terryn had to smile. She glanced to her father, who was silently poking at his plate and trying his best to stifle laughter. "I quite agree. Men are much more demure and sheepish. Perhaps you would like to try needlepoint one day? I could teach you." Like she ever did needlepoint.

"About all you can do with a needle is gouge some poor man's eye out; no surprise there," retorted Marcus, finishing his meal and shooting a glare at the Duchess. She returned it, primly. "The last I heard, you outright refused to try needlepoint because it dampened your immensely intellectual frame of mind." He nodded resolutely. The elders had been there. They would back him on this.
