ยป I still sketch traditionally sometimes, and scan those on to digitally ink them.
For the most part though, I use my tablet to draw now.
Haha. I like it much better.

i do the thing where you start with a pencil, scream a bit and throw paper around the room... end up at the swearing, tablet-chewing stage...

Pencil and paper definitely. I love my tablet, but it's just not the same as using a pencil. I love to watch tv while I draw too... ^^;

Tablet for the professional look, and I rarely, rarely use guidelines/shapes.
Pencil/Paper for plain ol' sketches.
I find I doodle really well when I'm extremely bored in history class, or at 11:30pm at night. The spell usually wears off at around 1am though. ._.

For me I am in a rut so I have been reduced to using tutorials to refresh myself with the basics. For me I use a combination of shapes and skeletal/stick figure

I just have to wait for something to come to me. Most of my drawings are randomly done.
And I draw traditionally. =D <3 =  HardcoreCataclysmic

I'll probably go through 10 or more sketches before I find something that I actually think will look good finished. Sometimes I'll ink as many as 2 outta every 10 pictures if I lucky. Once I have my ink (provided I'm still motivated on that picture) I'll scan it in at 600 dpi, and go over the lineart with a finetooth comb. Once I'm satisfied with the ink, I'll lay down the flat colors of the picture and pick out a background and light source. With those in place it's just a matter of filling in shadows and lights. A full finished picture will take me anywhere from 3 to 8 days.... ^^; *slow as all get out*

drakkenmuerte Here goes: sketch out several versions of the idea Take three best, get photo reference for them with model and props narrow down best composition and finish with chosen medium. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3.14. Amen to that!!

I personally just freestyle everything I draw, & I have a fetish with using ballpoint pens and lined paper, then editing out the lines later.. go figure. I've tried using shapes for sturcture but it ends up looking to posed for me, I like the natural feeling I get from my art. Usually I draw everything from memory & sketch it out like it could be my main piece, but try not to get attatched if I mess up half way through or something. If I do get attatched to something, I'll doodle it at school or work for weeks and try to perfect it whenever I can. Go straight up tweaker status xd

I love pen and paper, for some reason when I know something is on the line I tend to draw better.
