Crawling Corpse
Art Name - Krav Maga ( Israeli Military Combat )
Component Arts - Tons! But Judo and Jiu jitsu come first to mind.
Principles -
Neutralize the threat
Avoid injury
Go from defending to attacking as quickly as possible
Use the body's natural reflexes
Strike at any vulnerable point
Use any tool or object available to you

While it's not a Martial Art and it's damn near impossible to have a sporting competition the principle is the same as any MMA or MA.

Your right it's not a martial art. It is a form of military combat that has many martial arts techniques and principles. And it is more realistic than any art out there. Even if it's haters and MMA dudes refuse to admit to it's practicallity.

Capoeira

1. Keep Rythm
2. Have control

I study it because it is the one of the only African-American martial arts in my area.

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art. It has roots in both Africa and Brazil. Also many of the African martial arts out there are extremely obscure in the US. You would have to go to Morocco, Kenya, Congo, Egypt and so forth to learn them.

It has no roots in America so you can't call it African-American. I should know. I'm African-American. My father was born in Africa.

I wish I could find a place that teaches Hapkido in my area. That would be my third main art.

Heh someones been reading the wtf website...
If you look into korean arts some more you will find that all those you listed derived from the same basic roots. Tae kyon is one of the earliest extant examples there, whereas the rest didn't come into existance until the 1940s-60s. General Choi the founder of TKD first trained in Tae kyon and then Shotokan, which is why I listed those particular two. And no tkd didn't derive from tang so do, they are like two different branches of the same tree.
Also you say two corrections? And you've bolded mass and back kick for no apparent reason.

Art name: Unnamed (personal style)

Component arts: Aikido, Capoeira, Tai Chi, Fencing, Suiken

Basic principles: Avoiding/deflecting opponent's blows and turning their own energy against them. Movements are irregular and hard to predict, but attacks are fast and hurt. Some focus on anticipation of opponent's moves.

Weapons: All weapons, both conventional and unconventional. Weapons are used rarely as a main form as attack, and more often as an "expendable limb", used to create an opening for normal h2h combat. Compatibility with weapons depends on the practitioner.

Soul Fighters Leg Kicks
Lord Balmung of Azure Sky

My mixed martial arts are just my fighting experiments.

Art Name: Zemarzen form #1: Ryu
Component Arts: Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Wrestling, Kung Fu, Boxing, Capoeira, and others
Basic Default art: Brazilian Capoeira
Principles: speed, mostly kicking, copying the others moves and using it against them.

Art Name: Zemarzen form #2: Dæmon
Component Arts: Wrestling, and unknown to creator due to lack of thorough research.
Principals: Stay based on the ground (mostly squatting down and/or intense leaning forward, medium-low speed, use "stages" (slighly increase power and hitting speed when needed), charging the opponent and bringing them to the ground

Art Name: Zemarzen form #3: Avian
Component arts: unknown due to lack of thorough research
Principals: 99.9 percent air based attacks, possibly more
Note: This is my latest and perhaps last experiment. I'm nowhere near close to finishing it. Due to lack of progress and research, I have very little information about this.
This art is best if performed on a trampoline

Love the role-playing stats, you n00b

Now GTFO

Ha ... mrgreen

Darn, now I feel like doing one of those again ...

Style : GO JEW PET CAR => THE STRONGEST WEAKEST STYLE OF THE NORTH STAR !!! ninja

Component arts: The principles obtained from mastering the Great Master Chrono's secret document ( http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=19745 ) combined with fragments of the ULTIMATE EXTREME FIST !!! ( as well as the hands of the Great Cobra Yin's STABBING POISON HANDS ... )

Basic principles:
=> Running around in circles
=> imagine your hands as knives while swinging them around in whipping manner.
=> Being totally 'Landom' and avoiding the use of 'COMMON SENSE'...

Weapons:
=> Oversized Giant Knife ( commonly assoicated with 'Shonen Animu' protagonists ), as a physical manifestation of the 'Bigger blade = Better' principle.
=> Dual Wielding knife thingies with multiple blades attached to them due to the principle of 'LOL! Moar Blades = Damn Cool !' formula.

The actual historical origins of the style ...

Go Jew Pet Car Wiki
The data extracted from 'Physical Knowledge Control' program and SWK Network, has lead to the creation of a new form of martial art, know only by its code name, 'Go Jew Pet Car', based on the synthesis of various combat principles that lacked 'common sense' and its link to 'Za Real Warudo'. 'Go Jew Pet Car' allows its user to confuse/ disorientate an opponent by running around in circles while swinging limbs around as the user imagines his/her hands as 'knives', whipping their arms around with a 'chopping' or 'cutting' motion, merged with the barehanded stabbing techniques of the individual known as Mr Strong the White belt.

Intergrated into the system as well, would be the art of wielding an impractically oversized knife, most usually seen on certain shonen/role-playing game protagonists, allowing to further visualise the 'chopping and cutting stuff' concepts behind the system's theories, since what better way to imagine and think about knives than to actually hold a rather usually heavy one that is really large.

To combine various seemingly unnessecary activities and unorthdox methods including 'Belly-dancing', 'thinking about karate chops', 'Take-It-Easy', 'grabbing imaginary oppais' and 'Anger management lessons' into the system, truly makes 'Go Jew Pet Car' into a well round and complete art form, for use in self-defense as well as for deriving mundane entertainment from easily offended individuals that resides in a fictional realm known as 'Za Real Warudo'.

Anyway, maybe here is a more coherent explaination to this madness ...

"Historians of martial arts explain the creation of all of these styles either for self-defense or religious reasons, but that doesn't explain the complexity. It took me all of a week to come up with my own theory : boredom. Put a bunch of sexually repressed young men on a mountaintop with nothing to do but meditate and practice kungfu and the myriad of Shaolin styles is the result." ~ Mosi

There are thousands, if not tens of thousands, of distince styles of kungfu. There are styles devoted to every conceivable animal. There are "drunken" styles, regional styles, styles exclusively dedicated to one weapon. There are family styles, which are never taught to anyone outside a bloodline. There are external and internal styles, styles for ground fighting, joint manipulation ( qin na ), and even one focused on head-butting. Chinese kung fu is one of the most glorious examples of obsessive-compulsive behavior in the history of human culture. ~ Mosi

Ok, I have enough fun for now ... rofl

Jingi_warrior
Style name: Goju Ryu (Hard and soft, steadfast and gentle)

Principles (pulls out notes): *Every technique should be able to end the fight immediately
*Strike to disrupt; disrupt to strike (almost like a feint, but you actually hit him to distract his mind)
*aim and hit the vitals
*There is no "block," you strike the opponent's attacking limb, hopefully breaking it
*strike hard to soft, and soft to hard (knuckles to throat, palm heel to forehead, ect)

(end first page notes, puts notes away) Memory time...

Just a few side things up there. The main strategy for Goju Ryu is to close distance with your opponent (within elbow/knee range if you can), psychologically unnerving him by getting into his "comfort zone," hit his vital areas, especially ones down the center of his body, unnerving him even more by getting within his main defenses (people usually guard the center of their body, "If they're able to get inside those defenses, what chance do I have for guarding everything?"), also uprooting and tripping him via quick sweeps, as without balance the opponent cannot do anything, if an initial strike cannot end it, take him to the ground (not MMA style), and either break/dislocate/hyperextend a limb or strike another vial area (I.E. throat, groin).

Training wise, kata is the heart of our style, but first your body must be physically strong enough to do all the techniques and handle extensive kata practice. Be as hard as a rock, while as limber and quick as a whip, as fluid as a river, essentially try and get the best of all worlds, the hard and the soft, the hard straightfoward movements, and the soft circular movements

This is all I can think of off the top of my head.

Cool, nice to meet another Goju guy around. smile

Too bad, I haven't been to my old school for almost 3 years, so I currently fighting skills are almost non-existent. ( As well as the fact that the last training tip I had from another Goju-ryu learner was "No Sanchin-ing !!!" )

So this is the most realistic piece of information I can provide at the moment.

Art : Doodling

Components : Pencil, Paper

Principles : Firm understanding of basic Anatomical structure, Shading, Foreshortening, Perspectives, Attention to detail, etc ...

Oh well, it is good to see that there are still recent posts here in the Guild despite my low period of inactivity.
