So I've heard Commented Aku as he walked forward, his steps slow and yet forceful. Somehow, he had changed. Where he had looked kind and soft when she had first met him, his body now looked angular, and his eyes sharp. He looked every bit a demon as he walked forward. Though, his ears didn't even flick in surprise as Mirage stepped forward challengingly.
Stay away from her Aku. She's not yours anymore. I'm taking her home, and that's final. Don't try and get in my way.
Your way? scoffed the demon. You aren't worth the trouble. I wish she would have let me finish you off when you had gotten here. I don't even see why she would claim you as kin. Though, you are similar in your ways. His gaze was cold, and his laugh was blood-chilling.

Tie seemed to lower herself to the ground, even tho she was already laying. Her eyes showed fear now...and she pulled the rocks in close to her, moveing to be in between Aku and the rocks. " Please just leave me alone Aku....you've done enough damage..." she said lightly, glanceing at the rocks. But even as she refered to them as damage she still kept between the demon and the rocks. SHe would protect them at all costs.

Aku snorted in mirth. As I recall, it was you who wanted to leave that pitiful stallion of yours. You came to me dear. I do not let anything of mine go easily. His eyes almost seemed to glow with an inner light, and his expression was fearful to behold. His ears though, flicked back slightly in annoyance when Mirage pawed the earth before him.
Racer is a thousand times better then you. How dare you insult him. His ears were flat, and his eyes narrowed. Gone for this moment, was the gentle stallion who did not like to fight. Gone was the gentle father who would romp and laugh with his children. At this moment, towards his opponent, there wasn't a compasionate bone in his body. Though he had never gotten along well with Tie, and their history hadn't been the best, he would still protect her, and the three tiny rocks that were around her. He pawed the ground again; digging a furrow; every muscle taunt as he faced the stallion before him.
Aku showed his teeth to Mirage, his own ears flat. You have been annoying for once to many times. I could tear you apart without a thought pony.
Before he answered, Mirage took a moment, though keeping an eye and ear on his opponent, and nuzzled Tie. Run he whispered in her ear. And take the rocks with you. I'll hold him off long enough for you to escapse with the rocks. If you have to, pick them up by their ears, but just run. Then he turned back to Aku, the momentary gentleness in his frame gone. I would like to see you try, gelding.

"Mirage! you can't! he'll kill you!" Tie said, tryign to reason with him. She looked down at the rocks before thinking a moment. "Aku...if...if i left...one of the rocks with you....would you let me leave?" she asked, trying to think of some way to spare Mirage. She was tearful at the thought of leaving one of them with him...and afried of what Aku would turn the tiny, innocent soul into as it grew....But she didn't want Aku to kill Mirage...However, even if Aku said yes....she looked down at the little winged rock, she would not allow him the pleasure of corrupting him..."please.."

I don't care! he snorted, pawing the ground angrily. None of those rocks are for him Tie. He only is their father, and nothing else. Though that can easily be overlooked.
Insolent fool! squeeled Aku in anger, his ears flat and his teeth bared. He charged at Mirage, his hooves striking the cavern floor and causing small spark from them.
Mirage braced himself as he saw Aku charge. Though, before letting the other stallion attack first, he rose on his haunches and lashed out visciously with his hooves, bringing Aku to a sudden stop, or else he loose an eye. Run! He called to Tie. If you have to, pick them up by their ears! But he had no time after that to speak, as he gave off a shrill cry and deflected one of Aku's hooves with his shoulder; leaving a mark across his shoulder. Blood oozed out of the cut, but he could not feel the wound; too intent on trying to stay alive. Though it wasn't only the horns on top of other stallion that he had to worry about. And the hooves. He also had to worry about the wings with their sharp tips and clawed fingers. He learned quickly about this, and he learned his lesson well by the wounds he wore now across his back as he forgot the other stallions wings, and they had caught him.
Though, Mirage was not the only one that bled. Aku himself wore bitemarks and cuts from the sharp hooves of Mirage. Though, the stallion had become even more enraged when Mirage had been able to catch one of his wings with his teeth, and bit hard; tearing a peice of membrane clear off, and tearing it even farther up the wing. The cavern starting receiving splatters of red, and was constantly reverberating with the angry cry of stallions, and the other sounds of the war that was brewing in it's belly.

Tie backed up, eyes fearful of the fight that has started before her. Tears formed at the sight of Mirage being hurt by the demon, and anger grew,,,,but Mirage was right...she needed to run...to get the rocks away from Aky and the fight as fast as possible. She looked around quickly, attempting to collect all three. She got two in her mouth before attempting to get the third. Tears spilled over as she found she couldn't get the last rock. "no...no no no..." she thought as she tried in vain. Soon she pushed the little rock into some bushes to protect it. She chocked back a sob. "be safe little one..." she doubted she would return and only hopped that Mirage would servive the batttle and find the little rock and protect it...Taking the two she could old she looked back at Mirage tearfully before turning and running, as fast as her legs could carry. She ran farther and farther, eyes clouded, heart pounding, the sounds of the battle echoing in her mind. Her eyes closed tight as she fought the urge to turn around protect Mirage. No matter what she instinctivly needed to protect her son...who was now trying to save her...she shook her head as she continued running. SHe needed to get away....away.....a rock slipped from her mouth. She gasped, slowlying to pick it up, but fear coursed through her, and she continued on, now only the little winged rock in her mouth. More tears fell......

Mirage continued to fight; half-blinded by pain and from a gash above his eye. But he would not stop; not until he was sure that Tie was away with the rocks. After bucking at Aku, and catching him under the chin, he noticed that Tie was missing, and so were the rocks. That was his cue to escape. Once more striking at the opposite stallion, catching him at the side of the head, and knocking him momentarily dizzy, Mirage ran like a bat out of hell for the entrance, and kept going. He hurt, but he knew he had to get under the cover of trees, lest that stupid demon find him.
He hid in a thicket, dashing in and falling over his own feet. He lay there, panting, though trying not to make it too loud, as he hoped that the demon would not be able to follow him. He continued to lay there, letting his fevered body cool by the cold ground he lay upon. And very slowly, his eyes closed, and he slept.

Tie continued as she ran, not realyl paying attention. But soon enough she stumbled upon a vary startled Racer, in the clearing the two had often shared. She collapsed almsot instently, tears falling, muttering things about how she deserved to die...
Racer stood quickly and all but ran to the mare. He stared in awe before he spoke. "Tie....?" he voice was a bit shaky and the stallion showed fear, relife, and worry in his eyes. He reached down and lightly nuzzled the mare, closeing his eyes momentarily. "Oh Tie....shh....shh....its ok, i'm here, your safe..." he said softly.
Tie shivered and slowly opened her eyes, reconiseing the stallions voice, his touch, and him..."Racer?" she asked softly, sitting up. SHe looked away, ashamed. After all...right beside her lay the little proof of how much she had betrayed him..."Oh racer...i'm so sorry..." tears began to fall again.
The stallion shook his head and nuzzled Tie once more, settled down beside her and pulling her to him. "Tie, i've been so worried about you, but i'm so glad your back...and your ok...Oh Tie i love you so much..." he said. As she didn't pull away he knew she was back for good...."Tie, please..." he could tell somthing was frighteneing her. "what happened? I know you have been with another stallion...i know it was a demon, but i don't blame you...its not your fault..." he spotted the little rock that lay, shivering, beside its mother, little wings flat. "who is this?" he asked.
Tie looked down at him. "He...is my son...i..." tears welled up again ."i tried to save them all...i tried...but....but..." she broke down crying, curling up beside the stallion.
"shh, i'm here, Tie, i'm here. its ok..." he nuzzled her. "you just cry it all away, i promise...i'll protect you...and i'll protect your son..." it stung a little, but seeing the rock tremble before him, he knew it would not be like its father, even if he knew only a limited about the stallion that had stolen his mate, he was posative he wasn't a kind stallion. He knew tho, that this little rock would be a good soul...he just knew it. "its ok..."
who should we give the last baby to?

[E Y E L ! N E R] Fremont shook his head, a tear running down his muzzle. "You can't take Flower. You can't take him." He kicked one of the other men. Another tear slid down his face. He laid down beside Flower, laying his head on Flower's back. "I don't care. You just can't take him from me. I don't know what i'll do without him." Poor Fremont. Everytime I read this I fantasize licking that tear running down Fremont's muzzle with my tongue and hugging him tight. BTW, how would Fremont react and what would he say if I licked the tears running down his muzzle while he's crying?
