The Force Palm to the jaw would cause Aerodactyl's head to reel back into the air and the dinosaur to stumble off and away from Lu. The beast would attempt to reorient itself after taking the powerful blow but it was too late, its defeat was rapidly closing in on it in the form of the early Aura Sphere. "Look out!" The grunt cried out in vain right before the Aura Sphere slammed into the Pokemon's back, the Aerodactyl letting out a pained cry to the heavens for but a second and then suddenly went silently as it fell to the ground motionlessly. Aerodactyl was knocked out.

"N-no! Darn it!" The grunt protested as he recalled his Pokemon, snarling at Brian. "This isn't over! He who controls the past controls the future! You'll regret getting on Eolith's downside!" The man said before a Baltoy teleported in and teleported them both away to who knows where. Didn't matter where he went, as long as he was off the island.

With that grunt taken care of Brian no doubt got the idea to first check up on the Chimchar, seeing they were all fine as some of them began to pop their heads out of the trees now that the fighting was over, the one on Brian removing its head from underneath his shirt and cooing, shivering slightly. They all were okay, but what about Riley? He just went into the mines to check out that explosion, who knows what he was dealing with down there.

Lu gave a savage grin when she saw that her plan had worked. Brian readied a Pokeball in his SNAG, intending to snag the Aerodactyl, but before he could do so, the grunt recalled his Pokemon and used a Baltoy to teleport out of the area. He gave a sigh, happy the encounter was over. Looking at the area, his first concern was the Chimchar. Were they alright? He could see some of them poking their heads out of the trees, and the one he was holding was still shivering in fear. "It's alright, the mean man is gone now," he said, his voice soft and soothing. Now that he knew the Chimchar were alright, his attention turned to Riley. Was he alright?

He knew the man had gone into the mines to deal with whatever was there, and normally, he wouldn't worry about someone of Riley's caliber. However, if there were more grunts in the mines, he reasoned that Riley would need help. He was torn; Riley had asked him to protect the Chimchar, but what if Riley needed his help? Finally coming to a decision, he tossed another Pokeball in the air and released Firebrand. "Firebrand, I need ye to look after the Chimchar," he said, handing the one he was holding to the Fire-type. "I have to go after Riley and make sure he's alright. Will ye do this for me?" The Magmortar took the infant from his trainer, looking down at it in wonder, then looked at Brian and gave a nod. He would protect this place. Brian gave a grateful grin and turned to Lu. "Let's go," he said, heading back through the tunnel and hoping they could reach Riley before something else happened.

Brian would venture into the mines and as made his way through he would find the people who were there on their first pass through were now gone. Brian would make it a good ways in before he heard another explosion go off, the entire mine shaking, small pieces of rock raining down on him. This wasn't good, he needed to see what the source of these explosions were and put a stop to it. The first step in doing in that was to find Riley, which if these explosions were still going off that meant he had yet to succeed in stopping whoever was causing them. That said, where was Riley? Brian couldn't see which way they went, the explosions had covered up any unlikely footprints and this mine was big. Was there any way he could discern which way Riley went?

Brian tried to make his way back through the mines by backtracking the way he'd come with Riley. He didn't see any of the other people that had been there earlier; they'd likely made their way out of the mines once the explosion happened. That was if they didn't get trapped in here. He felt another explosion go off, and he had to assume that Riley hadn't yet found the source of the chaos. Where was Riley? Frustrated, Brian closed his eyes to calm his emotions, then looked at Lu when she poked his arm. She gestured to herself, then to him, then to the area around him. He was a bit confused until she indicated her eyes, then his. "Ye want me to try using aura to find him, don't ye?" he asked. The female Lucario nodded in response, happy that he'd understood her intentions. "Lu, I've only just started learning about it," he said. "I don't have the training Riley does to do this kind of thing." Lu gave an annoyed scowl, then poked his chest as she looked into his eyes. She growled a few more times, poking him in the chest each time. I believe you have the ability to do this, she seemed to be saying. After a few seconds, Brian gave a sigh. "I'll try, but don't expect any results right away," he said.

He watched as Lu closed her eyes, and he did the same, mimicking her actions. It was easier to sense things without using his eyes, he'd found, if the incident with the floor earlier had been any indication. He calmed his breathing, allowing sounds and smells to come to him more easily. He tried mapping out the mines in his mind, as Riley had told him earlier, and found that it was easier this time around. Then again, he'd been through part of them, so it made sense. Lu had already picked up on residual aura traces that Riley had left behind, and Brian was starting to do the same. He'd been around Riley just long enough to get a feel for his aura, and he focused on what he knew of this to try and sense where the man had gone. After a few moments, he opened his eyes and looked at Lu. "I think I've got the general idea now," he said. "I'll still need to rely mostly on ye for right now, Lu, but I'll try to help whenever I can." Lu gave a satisfied nod; she'd felt his aura reaching out, trying to latch onto the residual traces that Riley had left behind. The female Lucario walked beside her trainer as they followed those traces, hoping they could reach Riley before something else happened.

The aura traces, however barely noticeable to Brian and disappearing at points, would lead Brian across the mine and down a flight of stairs before he finally came up to some sort of evidence as to where Riley was as he came upon an opening in a cave wall being guarded by a Team Eolith grunt and their Bastiodon. "Stop right there!" The lady grunt called out. "I have strict orders that no one is suppose to go inside! That means you. No go, the dig site is to not be disturbed." The grunt said, her Bastiodon snorting as it stood in the entrance to whatever was behind her. Whether Riley was in there or not was irrelevant, there was something in there these thugs wanted and whatever it was Brian couldn't let them get their hands on it.

Brian followed the aura traces, having to backtrack a few times to make sure he was on the right track. He was relying on Lu to tell him if he got too far off track, but thankfully, he never did. Hearing a voice calling out to him, he paused, recognizing this idiot as a Eolith grunt. Hmm, if she was guarding this spot, then there was something beyond this place he needed to get to. These wankers really didn't need to get their hands on anything that was in this mine. He thought about ordering Lu to just use an Aura Sphere to the Bastiodon's face, but before he could say a word, the Lucario did exactly what he'd been planning to tell her to do. An Aura Sphere formed in her paws as she shot it at the Rock/Steel-type, following up with a Quick Attack that she turned into a Bone Rush. Wait, did Lu just read his mind? Or was she reading his emotions to find out what he was going to say?

Given it's typing, if these two attacks hit, the Bastiodon would be seriously hurting, and Brian was hoping to capitalize on that. "I don't really care what yer orders are," he growled, walking forward. "Ye've disturbed the peace of a protected place, and ye and yer idiot teammates are going to pay for it." Having said this, he lunged forward, aiming to allow the grunt's face an introduction with his fist. He didn't care that she was female; he had to stop her calling reinforcements.

The grunt's eye went wide as the Lucario began to charge up its Aura Sphere, instantly recognizing the attack but there was no time to do anything to avoid it, however there was time to make it pay for what it was about to do. "Use Metal Burst!" The grunt cried out.

In that same moment as the Aura Sphere was fired off and slammed into the Bastiodon for massive damage, the dinosaur letting out a pained roar as it stumbled back a step, its head would also begin to glow silver. It was when Lu came charging in to get close with Quick Attack, preparing for a Bone Rush assault, did Bastiodon unleash a massive burst of silvery energy, fueled by the incredible damage it suffered from the Aura Sphere, sending that same damage back at Lu at twice the severity and putting to bed any idea of hitting it with Bone Rush in that moment as no doubt Lu took a heavy hit. Like Counter and Mirror Coat Metal Burst bypassed any resistances.

"Ha! How do you like that!? Don't underestimate your Pokemon elders!" The woman said, getting cocky after getting a hit in even though her Bastiodon was looking like it would just take a single punch to put it down for the count, that Aura Sphere did a big number on it. "I suggest you leave before you too become history."

Lu saw the attack coming at her, and while she wouldn't be able to dodge, she did manage to get a Detect off at the last possible second, barely managing to escape the attack. Had she taken the damage, it would have knocked her out, given how powerful Metal Burst was. She growled angrily at the Pokemon that had just tried to take her out. Brian saw Lu avoid the damage and gave a savage grin. "What was that about becoming history?" he asked, watching as Lu repeated the finisher she'd used on Aerodactyl. The Quick Attack had put her close enough that she was able to place both her paws on the Bastiodon's head, then ignite a double Force Palm, intending to knock it out as quickly as possible.

Down went Bastiodon, much to the disappointment of the Eolith grunt. With a grinding of her teeth the woman would recall her Pokemon, tucking the ball away as a Baltoy appeared beside her. "Bah! Whatever! You won't beat the boss anyways! This place will become your grave and a future escalation site of your bones! Let's get out of here, Baltoy!" The woman taunted Brian before the Baltoy teleported themselves away. With the grunt and Bastiodon gone the entrance was free and clear for Brian to pass through and get into the area of the cave system she was guarding.

"Tch...I can't believe this..." Riley grunted, looking worse for wear as he was down on one knee besides his knocked out Lucario, the man trying to help the Pokemon up but it was no good. Surrounding the man were three grunts, two with a Claydol and one with a Cofagrigus, the trio apparently having gained up on Riley. Beyond the trio on the other side of the cave was a man that wore an outfit similar to the grunts but was more sleek and suit-like with the Eolith symbol being small and off the side of the chest. Was this some sort of Eolith admin?

"It's over, mister Riley. We don't wish to harm you nor your Pokemon any further so please tell us where the ruins lie. Otherwise we'll be forced to keep...excavating...the island until we found them ourselves." The man said to Riley as he polished his round spectacles before putting them back on.

"Excavating!? You're just blasting holes everywhere! If you keep this up the entire island will collapse in on itself!" Riley shouted at him. "Besides, I'll never tell you where the ruins are, not if this is how you treat history."

"Tch...what a difficult man." The admin said with a sigh. "Very well then. Time to teach you another lesson...do it." He said to the Cofagrigus wielding grunt who nodded before turning to his Pokemon, commanding the Pokemon to lash out with its four arms, the ghostly appendages wrapping around Riley quickly as its coffin body began to open, no doubt intending to pull inside while he was helpless to stop it.

Brian watched with grim satisfaction as the Bastiodon went down, the grunt teleporting away shortly after. Now that his path was free, he walked into the area she was guarding, his eyes hardening as he saw Riley kneeling next to his Lucario, the Fighting/Steel-type clearly knocked out. The three grunts surrounding him had Pokemon, but the man standing a bit further away didn't appear to have any. Then again, perhaps he wasn't showing what Pokemon he had. He gave Lu a signal, and the Lucario gave a nod as she fired off a Dark Pulse from each paw, aiming for the two Baltoy. If she could knock them out, the Cofagrigus would be easier to deal with, and the grunts wouldn't have a way out of the cave.

"Chase, Shadow Ball the Cofagrigus," Brian said, tossing the Kirlia's Pokeball into the air. The Psychic/Fairy-type obeyed without question, trusting that Brian knew what he was doing. "Ye morons don't belong here," he growled, walking forward until he was standing next to Riley, grabbing the man to ensure the Cofagrigus couldn't trap him. "Ganging up three-on-one hardly seems fair. And attempting to murder Riley isn't going to fly with me. So here's my advice: leave this place, or I'll personally see to it that the four of ye leave here in an ambulance."
