Thomas Allbright is a man of high standing in Willow Hollow. He is a well-loved family man who happens to be the mayor. He is known for his love of God, his village, and his family. It is hard to find fault in such a godly man. He went to every sermon at the church and was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. Since he has become mayor none have gone hungry or cried alone in their grief.

That is why Willow Hollow was filled with great sorrow and shock when his wife was taken from him during childbirth taking their second child with her. Tears filled everyone's eyes at the news of the loss. For such a great man to suffer such loss left all with a heavy heart.

Life, however, does continue to move along, and while it happened slowly a smile has returned to Thomas’ lips. Five years after the great loss the village is doing better than ever. Crops have grown well over the years and little sickness ever touched the people of Willow Hollow. They have little contact with the world outside their village and that is how Father Jonathan Merriweather likes it. Father Merriweather tells of the evils that plague other villages and it was only due to the godliness of the people in Willow Hollow that the plagues and other demons have left them alone these past five years. He has been heard that he believes in taking Thomas’ wife and child God blessed the village with his joy and love for the great sacrifice that the mayor has given.

When Thomas heard that was one of the very few times anyone saw anger from the mayor and the only time he disagreed with the godly Father. So now Father Merriweather kept that one belief to himself, though now the whole village have heard it and accepts it for truth, making their love for thor mayor all that much stranger.

Thomas Allbright sat in the old church with his daughter of twelve beside him. His eyes focused solely on the Father as he gave God’s words of wisdom. Today was all about the evil of witches that have been plaguing other villages and overrun cities that are filled with sin. He talked of their evil doings, dancing in the woods and casting spells, causing sorrow to all around them. Of taking children for bloody sacrifices or luring them to join them in their worshipshing of the devil.

Amelia Allbright couldn’t much focus, she was always bored at church but knew her father wouldn’t allow for anything less than her full attention of The Father and his words. Her father read to her every night from the bible and made sure she was aware of the rare joy she was afforded by him doing so since reading wasn’t a thing many in the village were unable to do. She loved her father and wanted nothing more than to make him pleased with her but her feet itched to run in the woods, to feel the wind in her hair. Amelia’s fiery red hair spoke of her wild nature.

When at last The Father gives the closing prayer Amelia is hard pressed to not run for the door. Today she and her dearest friend, Isabelle Hawthorne are to walk together along the edges of the woods, picking berries, One of the few chores that Amelia enjoyed. When she spots her friend she gives quick goodbyes to her father and rushes to Isabelle’s side.

“Good day,” Amelia whispers in her friend’s ear.

Isabelle jumped but joy filled her eyes at the voice. “You ready for trouble?” She whispered back to Amelia
