That was not a human. Or, at least, not by any standard he could tell.
No energy signature, so not powered? It couldn’t just be some civilian in a costume. Or, if it was, he should probably see if they were eligible to join the Court. If they survived, at least.
The reindeer (thing?) seemed pretty ferocious, and it didn’t appear as if it was going to let up any time soon.
“Hey, back up for a second,” he called to the–person?--and wanted until he had an opening so he could use his magic on the raging creature. Flowers immediately sprouted beneath the monster, and all he could do was hope that it was susceptible to mandragora poisoning–or that it didn’t like flowers enough that it chased itself away.
Quote: Arnica waves his hand and a three foot ring of Mandragora flowers sprout around a single target within his line of vision. Anyone caught within this ring will immediately feel themselves falling subject to Mandragora poisoning, which can include blurred vision, dry mouth, dizziness, headache, nausea, feeling flushed, vomiting, increased heart rate, hyperactivity or hallucinations. Players do not need to feel all of these symptoms but should be subject to at least two for the duration of his magic, but it is up to their discretion which symptoms they inherit as well as how severely they are affected by them. The target can leave the ring of flowers but will still feel the symptoms until the duration ends. He can use this magic three times and it lasts for 25 seconds.

“What? No, I’m a Dark Mirror Senshi,” he said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Don’t wave that thing at me,” he said of the energy dagger that she seemed to be willing to brandish like she’d use it on him, too.
The reindeer stumbled, partly frozen and partly moved by the force of its own momentum, and Arnica seemed like he was ready to just turn around and head back to the nearest mirror to get out of here.
“I’m Arnica,” he answered, watching the beast cautiously. “But it’s rude to ask for someone to introduce themselves before you do the same. You’re not a youma,” he pointed out, but he didn't know what she was. She didn’t look like any Senshi he’d ever seen, not with a weapon like that. Knights and Negaverse Agents had weapons, but they didn’t look so different.
Not that he was judging! He just had no idea who she was, or what she was doing here. Aside from picking fights with giant–
What, monsters? Was that a youma? Arnica didn’t know, but it seemed to get some feeling back and pawed at the ground. It dipped its head low and scooped up a puff of snow that it immediately sent flying towards Vaylin.
The reindeer didn’t stay to see how she responded to it; as soon as there was a wall of white between it and the two attacking it, it charged in the other direction. Snow kicked up behind it, but between being sick and slashed–with a numbing blade, or otherwise–it had had enough.

“Sort of aligned with ourselves, really. I mean, I guess we’ve got ties to the Negaverse but don’t hold me to that. Especially if you’ve been attacked by their Senshi. We’ve got our own goals, and nobody gets hurt in our plan. Just, if that’s something you’re worried about. Sorry for thinking you were a youma, I just–I’ve never seen anyone like you.”
Anyone off world.
But then, that’s what he’d been looking for, wasn’t it? He loved conspiracy theories, he loved oddities. She was definitely odd.
“Dark Mirror is just–we’re connected to a universe within the mirror, that’s all. The big, important mirror’s dark when you look into it, that’s all. It’s not creepy or bad or anything. I haven’t heard of Velencya, or the Vanguard–what’s up with that? You traveled through space, really? –Ever abducted anyone, or…? Not trying to be rude. I investigate weird things that happen around town, just fact-checking.”

An absolute, real alien. Arnica looked at her for a moment, in something akin to surprise and awe. It quickly morphed into acceptance, but was always curious.
“Yeah, well maybe you and I should meet up some time. I’d love to pick your brain about that world of yours. I don’t know if I could be a lot of help, but if you’re willing to walk me through things, maybe I can show you Mirrorspace sometime? It’s pretty wild, but. Well, you’re from space. That’s pretty wild, too.”
He was in a good mood, if not a bit excited; the journalist in him wanted to know everything. He leaned forward to inspect the crystal but was careful not to touch it.
“Dark Mirror Court doesn’t abduct people, too. Just to get that out of the way. I mean, we can, but. Anyone can. It’s not like a widely practiced thing, just wake up in the morning and throw someone in the mirror and go about our day to day.”
He drew out his mirrorshard but didn’t summon the wraith. “We use this to gather energy. So maybe we’re not totally different. I mean, I get a weird little ghosty thing that pops out and gathers energy, but. You know.”
