[META-R] Community Project (Vaylin & Læraðr)

Vaylin in her human disguise was observing the street, She was in search of energy to use for the mission. She spotted a male human in a stiff gray suit. Vaylin was still learning about human society and customs but she could tell the man was stressed and overworked. Clearly he needed to relax a little this would be a win win, the Vanguard gets a bit of energy and the human gets to have a good sleep.

She walked up to the man. "Hi there mister. You look like you've got alot of stress. Here this'll help." She said quickly placing her source crystal on the man's shoulder. "Huh? What are you..." The man's words trailed off as he began to sway on his feet falling unconscious soon after. Vaylin made sure to catch the man picking him and carrying him to a nearby bench. She only took a little bit of energy, enough to serve the Vanguard's needs but not enough to do any real damage to the man.

She was checking how much energy she had obtained from the man when she noticed another man nearby however this was not one of the normal humans. It appeared to be one of those knights. "Oh hello, you're a knight right?" She asked to confirm the man's identity. "I'm Cadet Vaylin." She said introducing herself properly to one of their potential allies.

Læraðr had been about ready to start wailing on Vaylin with his baton, to protect the civillian, but when she spoke, he realized she wasn't Chaos (of course she wasn't, there wasn't a Chaos aura), but in fact, was Valencian.

"...Yeah. I'm a Page, technically," he said, "Læraðr. Nice to meet you, Cadet."

She tilted her head. "Is a Page different from a knight?" She didn't really know the terminology too well. She noticed he had baton in his hand and then she glance back at the human she had just taken energy from. She wondered if this was one of the knights who was opposed to the idea of energy draining. If so she had to defuse the situation, she couldn't let hostilities form between the Vanguard and the Senshi and Knights.

"Oh um if your worried about that one." She pointed to the man on the bench. "You don't need to be, I didn't hurt him. I only took enough energy to put him to sleep. He'll wake up tomorrow refreshed and ready for the day." She tried to explain that what she was doing was harmless. "It's a necessary part of our operations to have energy. I would ask first but we aren't suppose to reveal ourselves to ordinary humans." She said justifying her actions

"So um anyways if you don't mind I'd like to ask you some questions about the Earth while your here."

Læraðr took a slow inhale and put his baton away. "I don't like it, but I'm not going to start hurting any of you over it," he said calmly, "As for Pages and Knights... you know how there's ranks of power to everything? Just because you're in the in the army doesn't mean you're someone powerful in the army like Cadeus or whatever, right? You're a Cadet, they're Commanders, or however it works. I'm a Page, then a Squire, then a Knight, if I'm good enough. Knight just also happens to be the classification name."

Shrugging, he continued, "But yeah, I'll answer Earth questions."

"That's a relief." She let out a relieved breath, this was necessary for their mission so she really didn't want to cause a diplomatic issue over it already. "Oh ok I think I understand. You will be promoted to a knight once you have gained enough experience and proved yourself. Although his highness, Cadeus is actually not a part of the Vanguard he's the prince of our people. Commodore Lyndin leads the Vanguard." She explained.

She looked back at the sleeping man and an idea hit her. "Ok so we need energy. We won't take so much that it hurts anyone like I said but we need it to function. The reason I took that mans is because he was clearly stressed out and had too much energy so it would be beneficial to drain him both for me and for him, our people use the same method to sleep. So can you think of a location or situation where people would have too much energy and would benefit from having their excess energy removed?" It would be very helpful she believed if they could find a symbiotic way to siphon energy from the humans regularly rather than looking for happenstance or the generosity of Senshi or Knights to donate it.

Læraðr still wasn't very sure about this whole thing. None of it felt right to him, regardless of their explanations. Still, it was better to appease the aliens that had appeared on their planet (to an extent) rather than run afoul of them in case they decided to do something else.

"I don't really have any good guesses," he said with a wince, "The people I can think of who most need rest are in places where it's very dangerous if they sleep there... Ooh, daycares are good, when it's supposed to be naptime. Kids never settle the hell down when they need to."

It was hard for Vaylin to grasp the concept of there not being a safe place to sleep. While there were definitely uncomfortable and inappropriate places to sleep, the idea of it being unsafe was strange.

She thought about his suggestion. "A daycare, interesting." It was true children often had excess energy, unnecessary and unhelpful. It was an interesting thought, a situation where she could get the energy she needed while helping human child sleep as well. "How would one go about working in a daycare?"

#Læraðr hummed in thought. "Well, I'm not really sure. It's not something I've ever done. Depending on the place, you might need a degree in childcare, or just some training, probably a first aid certification?" he listed off, brow furrowed in thought, "I'd look it up, but I don't have my normal phone."

"Hmm I guess I'll have to look into it, your human libraries are such wonderful places for research." She gushed she had come to love the local library. It was such a treasure trove of alien knowledge and culture, all free to anyone.

"Thank you so much for all your help just one more thing if you wouldn't mind. Could you please donate some energy to our mission." She held out and empty crystal for him. "You knight have more energy so it's a lot faster and better to get our energy from you guys if you're willing." She hoped he would help them.

Læraðr tried not to wince. The more he donated, the less they'd go after others, after all.

So he nodded, stepping forward. "Do what you need to. Just don't make me pass out, huh?" he joked.

She handed him the crystal. "Don't worry I think you have a bit more energy than this crystal could hold." The knights and senshi from what she had heard and personally seen in her short time on Earth had a lot more energy than the average Human and perhaps more than even the average Velencian. She wasn't certain how they compared to the Vanguard, that would be an interesting study that she tucked in the back of her mind for after the mission was accomplished.

"Thank you" She said when the crystal was full. "It was nice meeting you!" She said as she took off in the direction of her base camp, the original man she had drained completely forgotten in the excitement of all she had learned tonight and the energy she had gathered.
