Atheneite had stalked her prey for some time now. A drunken fool who had wandered from his bar of choice to a deserted area of a local park. The man was clearly legless. Atheneite hated men like him, worthless cretins who rotted their brains away with drink and then proceed to make complete asses of themselves.
He was easy enough to drain as she stole the energy from his body until the man collapsed in the dirt. But she wasn't satisfied, this waste of space didn't deserve to keep breathing in her estimate so she figured she'd take one more thing. She reached into the man's chest and plucked out a pretty little crystal. She didn't know much about it but she knew that people need the crystal to live, that people with her power could steal them, and that they could heal her if necessary.
She grinned over her prize as she held it up to the moon light. She had never been a fan of jewelry but this she decided she was quite fond of. That was when she felt it, an order aura appear. It was not as strong as her general but she could tell it was definitely stronger than her. She wasn't sure if she should try to book it before the owner of the aura made themselves known. Ultimately she decided to wait and see. If nothing else it would help her get an understanding of the various power levels of order, and she could always run later if she needed to.

“Put that back, little girl.” Came a voice that sounded almost as amused as it did annoyed. “You’re the second person I’ve seen taking someone’s soul in the past few weeks, and it’s getting old, you know.”
Lupu walked out from behind the tree he had been watching from, his bow already in his hand, an expression of some exasperation on his face. “Energy returns, but if you think it’s fun to rip out someone’s soul, you’re wrong. It’s rude and there is no need for that, so as I told the last one of you, put it back...or I’ll have to make you put it back.”
Not that he didn’t think it would be a good idea to attack anyway...but. Still.
“I do hope you’ll be smarter than the other one was.” He doubted it. He wouldn’t have been, he thought if he were still part of the Negaverse...in fact, knowing himself, he might have been even more smug about someone being all forceful as he was but…
Well. That was another life that he had no memory of. And this was just...how he was. He always preferred talking but...not when there was a life involved.

Little girl. That was a new one for Atheneite. No one had dared to call her a little girl for a very long time. A devilish grin spread across her face. She grabbed the downed man's collar and held him up. "But mister this drunken man came at me. I was sooo scared I had to defend myself." She put on an obviously faux sweet voice to go with her obvious lie. She dropped the body letting it thud against the ground.
She wondered about this other one he was talking about. Which of her peers had fallen to this purple man. He just had a bow, no arrows to be seen, but Atheneite knew enough about order to know that she shouldn't assume the weapon was useless. The intelligent part of her knew this was likely a battle she couldn't win but the more batty part wanted see just what this man would do if she kept pushing.
"I'll tell you what mister purple man, you can have this back." She held up the star seed. "If you take it from me." She boldly declared as she popped the crystal into her mouth. She didn't swallow it, after all she didn't want to just eat her pretty little prize, but she did keep it in her cheek.

Lupu’s lips pursed and he gave a quiet sigh, suddenly feeling a great respect for the people in movies who begged for the villain to have some kind of change of heart...but they never did.
They never learned. “If you had to defend yourself, that’s perfectly fine, but I know you can take energy, and that is a perfectly reasonable thing to do if you’re feeling threatened. Or even, take the starseed, take his energy and then return the starseed. That would make sense too. It’s rude, but it makes sense.”
A softly glowing ethereal arrow formed in the bow and the Squire tugged the string back, his brows furrowing as he watched her put the gem into her mouth.
Oh.
Oh Hell no. The time for talking was done.
He let the arrow fly and began to channel his magic as it landed a few feet away from the lieutenant. “Fine then. I’ll take it back.”Aurelius0815 As a squire, Lupu has a magic pool that lasts for forty seconds. When he channels the magic, he holds his bow and fires an ethereal arrow. Wherever it lands within a fifteen foot radius, skeletal hands come up and bind the target in place. The magic channeling does not begin until the arrow has landed and the arrows can do no damage, they are just a catalyst for his magic. A total of four hands come out of the ground at this stage, capable of holding either one person in a very strong grip, two in strong grips or four in moderately breakable one handed grips. Anyone targeted by the hands will see flashes of a horrifying illusion of being surrounded by death and decay that worsens the more they struggle. The more hands that grip the target, the more overwhelming the sensation is.

Atheneite grinned evilly although it lost some of its potency as one of her cheeks was puffed out from the crystal. The knight shot a a glow-y clearly magical arrow. The lieutenant braced herself for whatever was about to happen when she noticed the arrow didn't even hit her, it landed a few feet away. She was about to laugh at the purple man's total failure of a shot. But then skeletal hands were springing from the ground and grabbing hold of her legs.
What! The young lieutenant thought as her vision began change she the dead began to appear from the darkness of the trees. His magic summons the dead, that was so not fair. Atheneite would probably think it was the coolest thing ever if she was watching it happen to someone else but being in the think of it gave her a vastly different perspective.
The dead were repulsive, zombies never seems scary to Atheneite but now that she smell the rot and see the flesh sliding off of the decrepit corpses shambling towards her she knew fear. "Stay Back!" She summoned her baton and swung at what she thought the walking dead, however she couldn't move because of the skeletal hands. She wanted retch, she couldn't believe that was how she would die at the hands of a brainless undead horde. As one snuck up behind her Atheneite let lose a short scream of surprise, the star seed tumbling from her mouth to the grass below her. She turned around swinging at the corpse.

.Lupu shook his head and calmly walked over to where the lieutenant was fighting with whatever horrors her mind was providing, and gently picked up the starseed that dropped to the ground.
Ew. God it was damp...that was disgusting…
“I did warn you, little girl. I told you I’d take it back. Perhaps the next time someone stronger than you gives you a warning, or asks you to do something, you’ll think twice and actually do it.”
Gently, he let the starseed reenter the civilian’s body, wrinkling his nose at the state of him. He clearly wasn’t the best class of person but…
That didn’t mean she had any right to decide he was going to die.
“When the magic ends, get out of here before I put it on you again, do you hear me? And girl, listen to me. I don’t want to hurt you. But I won’t hesitate. You don’t want to see what else I can do, I promise you that.”
There was nothing else, it was a bluff but...hopefully an effective one.

This was horrible. She was surrounded by disgusting corpses, she lost her prize, that smug p***k was talking down to her. She wanted smash his face in so badly. She would have her revenge on this b*****d, she would make sure of it when she became more powerful.
"You knob end wanker, this isn't over!" She yelled as she nashed her teeth together in anger. "I'll get you for this next time we meet." She wasn't going to let him catch her with this magic again.
As she was leaving she threw her brass baton aim straight for his head as she continued fighting off the undead with her hands.

God. Baby Negaverse agents thinking that they were utterly and completely badass...it was sad, honestly. He didn’t want them getting into trouble, didn’t want them having to reconsider all of their life choices and have to deal with mistakes piled on mistakes but...when they didn’t want to listen...there was nothing he could do to force the issue.
He sidestepped the baton easily enough, though it graced his shoulder and the Squire sighed watching her leave.
...Hopefully she’d find something to get her out of the grip of chaos...hopefully she’d find a better path but…
Somehow, he didn’t think it was very likely.
Ah well.
You couldn’t save everyone.
