------------------- Biography: Crescent Order Lore:
Johnathan L, Kurtson was born on the twenty-ninth of October, 3XXX, to Lord Valentine A, Kurtson and Lady Emelia G, Kurtson of the House of Kurtson. They were a wealthy and moderately powerful family who had a long history with the Crescent Order, many of the family members on both Lord Valentine's side and Lady Emelia's sides had enlisted within the Orders ranks, achieving varying amounts of success, and occasionally failures. Naturally Johnathan would walk this path himself, as such his tutelage in the arts of war began at a young age, along with his normal classes regarding civility, manners, finance, etc, etc. By the time he was of age, i.e. 16, to join the illustrious ranks of the Crescent Order he was well versed in a wide variety of arms, protocol, military etiquette, and most importantly, a zealous loyalty for the Order and a burning hatred for all Fantasy kind.
During his early years of service in the Order Johnathan managed to distinguish himself on several occasions for his brilliant lateral thinking that lead to the discovery and swift destruction of several active Rebel cells dangerously close to city. This was enough to allow him to be noticed by a particular section of the Order's armed forces, the Intelligence Corps, they saw potential to become an outstanding Intel Officer and wasted little time in whisking him away into the shadowy world of intrigue that is Intelligence and Espionage. Just a short while after being appointed to his new station Johnathan learned that his mother had become pregnant, and it was a boy! To the young Intel officer those months leading up to the birth of his baby brother could not seem any longer but when the day finally arrived, oh how ecstatic he was! Every moment of his waking life that wasn't on duty Johnathan spent it with his infant baby brother, Thomas N, Kurtson, and as the lad grew older Johnathan took it upon himself to teach his brother everything he had and more. The two were inseparable, spending so much time together that some quite frankly found it a tad on the side of disturbing, of course Johnathan knew of these views but cared little of it.
Eventually the day came for Thomas to join the Order, a moment of great pride for all the Kurtson family, two sons both serving within the Order with bright futures ahead for both of them. Thomas's early deployments proved promising in proving this, already he had been commended for bravery in the face of the enemy by rescuing a wounded comrade while under heavy fire. Unfortunately, tragedy was to strike the Kurtson family, barely a year had passed when, whilst securing an Rebel Cell's base, Thomas and most of his squad died in explosion set off by the Rebel who would rather die than be captured. Needless to say this proved to be heavy blow to Johnathan, who had been one of the chief intelligence officers for that mission, naturally he blamed himself for Thomas's death despite everyone agreeing that this had been completely unforeseen. Still Johnathan fell into a deep depression from which no one could rouse him, many concluded that he would eventually take his own life.
In the end, the opposite proved true with Johnathan quite suddenly snapping from his wallowing, driven by a new unquenchable thirst for revenge. It was also around this time that he met someone... special. A girl, unlike any others he had met before, a fiery, live wire soul known as Mayres Collins. The two had had a chance meeting after she had barged into the Intelligence Wing's command center demanding to "See the a*****e who had done the intel work for her op". By sheer luck, or misfortune depending on how you see it, Johnathan had been the "a*****e" who'd done the work for her operation. What followed was mostly a lot of shouting, swearing, insults, and a few thrown punches with the confrontation ending when MP's showed up to "escort" Mayres away. Later on Johnathan would find himself thinking of her quite a lot, for some unfathomable reason she had somehow caught his attention and he couldn't look away.
Eventually Johnathan contacted Mayres and managed to get her talking, after he "apologized" for giving her bad intel of course, and after that he convinced her to go out for coffee. While their first outing proved to be rather uneventful, and somewhat awkward, it would not be their last as over time they met up more and more. Many others looked down on the relationship between the two as many saw Mayres as nothing more than a low class soldier girl who had no money, no family, no renown. Johnathan cared little what others said as he found that Mayres was filling a hole in him he hadn't known he had. Perhaps the death of Thomas had done more to him than he thought and being with Mayres was helping him discover and heal these deep wounds. It was most likely because of this that Johnathan eventually gathered up the courage to "pop the question" to Mayres and by the power of Theos she said yes. Now Johnathan finds that all he can think about is their future together, and how this play out in the long run but he thinks it will all do alright in the end.
World of Adventure Lore: Johnathan isn't sure how he wound up in this peculiar world, the last thing he remembered before he awoke in this strange place was well going to sleep in his home. He hadn't suspected anything was even amiss until he had rung for his servants to fetch his breakfast and uniform, a quick walk around revealed that much had changed in his home as well. The family mansion was now a "pent house suite", or at least that's what the single servant he could find told him, though he wasn't entirely sure he'd heard them correctly. The girl had spoken English, sure, but there was something... off about the manner in which she spoke, seemed altogether far to cheery. As he grasped for answers he went to a widow in his room to gaze out at The City, his home, only to find that it wasn't The City, there was nary a landmark he could identify. Oh it was all to much, Johnathan spent almost a week cooped up in his new home as desperately tried to make sense of what had happened, what possible chain of events had lead to his being marooned in this queer world.
Over the next few months Johnathan slowly learned more and more about this new world, in some way it wasn't to unlike his old one but those differences that did exist were nearly beyond his comprehension. For starters this world was all but untouched by the horrors of nuclear fallout, everything was bright, alive, almost every place one looked they found a world bursting with life, a far cry to the scorched wastelands that he'd spent so much time in during his youth. He beheld technology that had been deemed lost to his people, precious relics of a forgotten time, now in the hands of mere children who regarded these wonders as little more than trivial trinkets. Perhaps the most bizarre shift was how freely, and happily, the various races of this world intermingled with one another, truth be told this part made him sick to his stomach. The thought that humans would dare rub shoulders, share a roof with, or even acknowledge the presence of lesser beings infuriated him, though when he attempted to bring this point up with another human they were shocked at his attitude, almost repulsed really.
Eventually Johnathan found his way into a job at a library within the city, it was in this solitude that he found a way to cope, the myriad of tomes and the information contained within them proved an effective escape. Over the years he garnered a reputation for being a foul tempered recluse who possessed knowledge on a great many topics, and could be convinced to share this knowledge, or at least where to find it, if one could "impress" him.
