☠ℙ𝕖𝕣𝕤𝕠𝕟𝕒𝕝𝕚𝕥𝕪: Ava is a very charismatic woman. Despite being young she has a good mind for business and knows how to smooth talk her way through anything. While she does take her responsibilities serious she also knows how to have fun. She is organized and knows there's a time for place for everything. During the day she puts on her serious boss mode. That side of her is typically very serious, cold, to the point, and includes a resting b*tch face. At night she becomes a flirtatious party girl looking for an adventure until mob duties call. Then she puts on her mobster face which including acting tougher than she is (although she is pretty tough) and hiding any signs of sympathy. Ava also has a good sense of humor and will often crack sarcastic or wise @ss jokes. She is confident, bold, and brave. Her main fear is committing to someone because she knows the mob life is dangerous. She has some scars to prove it.

☠𝔹𝕚𝕠𝕘𝕣𝕒𝕡𝕙𝕪: Ava was born to a single mother in the heart of New York. Being a single mom with no wealth to her name Ava's mother spent a lot of time working, but whenever she could find time she'd be with Ava. Ava's mother always expressed her love and care for Ava and often would come home from work with just enough time to tell her stories before bed. Those stories meant the world to Ava since it meant time with her mother and because they helped inspire her to want to be a writer. Some of the stories her mother told her were just little fairytales while others Ava could tell were based on her life. Even as a child she could tell the difference just by the way her mother told the story.
From her mother's stories, she learned that her mother was born and raised in France which explained her accent. Her own family was a mix of English and French blood and were very wealthy people who ran a jewelry company. Since they were looking to expand they sent Ava's mother to America to discuss business with potential partners and that was how her mother came to meet her father. He was described as handsome, charming, a bit of a flirt but funny and sweet. He was adventurous and a troublemaker so being with him was always fun and exciting. Ava's mother was always a goody-goody so to do a little bad was fun... for a while. Eventually, she found out that Ava's father was involved in things that were just too bad so she broke ties with him. She returned to France and once there she discovered she was pregnant. Her family was outraged and disowned her for getting pregnant at such a young age by a boy who was "some street rat" that she met in New York. And yes she admitted to Ava life was hard after that but having Ava made it easier. She gave her mother hope and all the love she could ever want.
Ava felt the same way about her mother so she never bothered to ask but her dad. Knowing that he did bad stuff was enough for her to not be interested in him. Unfortunately, Ava's mother was diagnosed with cancer when she was in middle school and couldn't afford treatment. This lead Ava to try to find out more about her father because she wanted to demand that he help them out. She believed that he owed at least that much to them. Her search didn't go far since she was just a kid and all she had was the name Nick to go off of. Her mother then died a few months after being diagnosed, leaving Ava without family.
Ava was then put in the foster care system and made to transfer schools. At her new school, she met a kid named Angelo and they quickly became friends. He said that his home life was complicated and that his parents didn't have a good marriage so he bonded with Ava over their complicated lives. One day he was hanging out with Ava in a nearby park when a black car pulled up to them and men in suits demanded that Angelo get in. Ava, always being the little spitfire, tried to protect Angelo. She assumed the men were kidnappers and threw rocks at them before taking Angelo's hand and running. Soon the men caught up with them though and forced them both into the car before driving them to Angelo's house.
In the car, Ava continued to fight against the men and even gave one of them a bruised eye by slamming her head into his face. Angelo was able to calm her down just before reaching his house by explaining that the men worked for his family and that some even were his family. This completely confused Ava and she was left with no time to process. They were both dragged out of the car and brought in Angelo's very nice home where they were presented to his parents. His father noticed the bruised eye on one of his men and asked about it and one of the others was quick to tell the story of how a little girl got the best of him. This gave everyone a good laugh and made Angelo's father instantly admire Ava. Even by the way she talked to him, he could tell she was strong-willed and brave. He was glad that his son had made such a friend and apologized for frightening her with his men. He explained that Angelo was spending less and less time at home and it was concerning him so he had ordered his men to fetch him for him so that they could at least eat dinner together. He then extended an invitation to Ava which she felt she had no choice but to accept.
After that Ava found herself being invited over more often, which Angelo explained was a rare thing. His parents didn't like having people not in the family over but Ava really hit it off with his dad. A year went on and everyone in Angelo's household practically saw Ava as part of the family, excluding a few jealous cousins. One day Ava came over to go to a party with Angelo and found herself waiting for him to get ready. Having nothing better to do she chatted with his father and they had a few good laughs together before a realization came about. He told Ava that she reminded him of a woman he knew long ago and Ava said that his name "Nicola" reminded her of the man her mother always put in stories named "Nick" who she believed was her father. As she gave examples of some of the stories her mother would tell Angelo's father became paralyzed with his surprise. Ava noticed this and asked him if he was alright only to find herself embraced in a tight hug as he screamed, "This can't be! h my God this can't be!" Angelo then quickly ran down the stair, half dressed, to see what was happening. Both him and Ava were very confused before his father calmed down enough to say, "By God, I think I am your father Ava!"
Sure enough, a blood test proved that Nicola was, in fact, her father and so he adopted Ava. Thus Ava became Ava De Luca. The daughter of a mob boss. Now at the time, she didn't know Angelo's family was part of the mob. She knew they were all shady by the way they acted but once she was officially adopted Nicola explained everything to her. His family had been part of the mob for years and when Ava's mother found out she left him. Nicola himself didn't want to be tied to his family's business at first. He actually came very close to running away to be with Ava's mother but before he could she had left and he had no way of finding her. With his love gone he decided to stay, marry the girl his father wanted, and have two sons Angelo and Marco.
Now one might expect that Ava would have reacted like her mother and run for the hills, but she didn't. She didn't because at that point she had met a lot of people in Angelo's family and for the most part liked them. She didn't understand what made them so bad. Nicola then basically took Ava under his wing and mentored her in the ways of the mob. He told her that they were good to people who were good to them. If anyone crossed them that was when things got a little... complicated. As time went on Ava became more and more ok with this. She was taught how to fight, how to use a gun, and even how to speak Italian. More members of the family slowly came to accept her, all but those who were with jealous of her or who were related to Nicola's current wife. They saw Ava's presence as a threat to Nicola's current marriage and so did Ava's half-brother Angelo. Having been friend with Angelo for years Ava thought their relationship was as strong as can be, so it killed her to find out it was a lie.
How it went down is one night Angelo asked Ava to meet him at the park they used to play at as kids. She thought it was for a trip down memory lane but instead, it was for an attack. Angelo and a few cousins from his mother's side jumped her. They kicked her around, punched her, spit on her, etc. The whole time Ava kept screaming "WHY!?" and right when Angelo pulled a gun at her she got her answer. Looking her in the eyes with not even an ounce of sadness or regret he told her, "Life was challenging enough before you came along. The fighting between my parents has only gotten worse since you came about. Plus pops spends so much time with you he practically ignores the rest of us. You're makin' him soft. You're makin' him neglect the rest of the family. You ain't one of us. And you never will be." This broke something in Ava and she snapped. She jumped off and smacked the gun out of Angelo's hand before he could pull the trigger. She then unleashed all her fighting lessons onto him and the cousins in what could only be described as a temporary break in her sanity. She was damn near close to beating Angelo to death when the image of her mother's face came into her mind. What would her mother say if she could see her now?
Reluctantly Ava let them all go. All of them, exept for Angelo. She dragged his sorry @ss back to her car and all the way back home. Once there she dragged him to their father's office where she forced him to tell the truth. Angelo was manipulated by his own mother into trying to kill Ava. She convinced him that once Ava was dead everything would be fine, which of course it wouldn't. Naturally, this lead to a big divorce that left Angelo's mother with nothing and her whole side of the family outcasted by the mob. The cousins who weren't outcasted because they were related to Nicola were instead punished heavily. Angelo was the only one who got off easy under Ava's request. Both Angelo and her father were shocked to hear her ask for mercy to be given to Angelo. "I know this isn't easy for you Ava. It isn't easy for me. he is my son, your brother, but to let something like this go without any consequence... Well, what message would that send?" Nicola asked. At that Ava smirked, her inner mobster revealing itself for the first time as she replied, "It would mean that Angelo owes me. Big time. And that he'll be spending quite some time making this up to me." Hearing this brought an overwhelming feeling of pride to Nicola. His daughter was finally accepting what the family did.
Since then Angelo has worked as a henchman for Ava. He has never dared to question her or challenge her in any way. As for her other half-brother Marco, after Ava and Angelos' relationship went in the trash theirs drastically improved. Marco admitted to Ava that he always saw his older brother as a pathetic baby who complained more than he took action. He has also become a worker under Ava but is considered to be more of her right-hand man than a henchman. She trusts him above everyone else and with him at her side they have accomplished some amazing things.
When Ava turned 18 and was to head off to college, her father admitted how proud he was of her. He also told her that in his will she was to take his place when he passed, which was such an honor. However, Ava declined and said that she couldn't accept such a position, nor her father's praises until he knew everything about her. This then lead to a long conversation where she came out to him. She knew he wanted her to get married a boy from a family connected to the mob and have many many kids, but that wasn't going to happen. She explained that she was open to the idea of kids one day but they weren't going to come from a husband. They would either be adopted or her or her partner could carry it. At first, this concerned her father. He knew how people thought and was concerned this would lead to attacks on Ava or people scrutinizing the family name. In the end, Ava left him with this to ponder, "Well what's more important to you pops? Your daughter's happiness and the relationship you have with her? Or what people who work for you think?" At the time he did not have an answer. Ava left for college the next day and did not speak to her father again until graduation.
During her time in college, Ava had a blast. There were still mob duties she had to tend to now and then but overall she was able to study what she wanted and hook up with as many fine girls as she pleased. She lived the dream bachelor's life. Then it all came to the crucial moment of getting her degree in business and when she walked across that stage she was surprised to find her father and brother Marco in the audience cheering for her. Marco wasn't really a surprise. Ava often sent him emails and called him and knew he was perfectly ok with her sexuality. It was her father that shocked her so after the ceremony was over she rushed to speak with him. Once again he told her how proud he was of her and that while it took him a while he was ready to accept and love Ava for who she was.
Now Ava runs one of the small companies that the mob controls. During the day she's a typical CEO and at night she is a badd@ss that is not to be messed with. Her reason for coming to the Red Rum Hotel is that a business meeting she was scheduled to have got canceled due to flight problems and rescheduled a few days later. She decided it was a waste to travel home just to fly back so she figured she'd stay a while.
