 Mavis smiled as she walked out of the bathroom. Her hair was still wet from her shower but she was just letting it air dry. She sighed as she went to her bed and pulled out the phone her mother had sent her. She pushed her glasses up her nose and looked down at her prosthetic. She had decided to wear shorts and a tank top to meet her new roommate but was now beginning to question it She shrugged and began to tap away on her phone, waiting for the knock on the door to come. She smiled as she talked to a few friends and people She tend to hang out with, waiting quietly.
She sighed after awhile and stood, going to her window
She sat down and looked out over the school and trees. Their home was wonderful. She loved being there though she missed her mother at times. Looking down, she checked the time and stood, wondering about her new roommate would be. All they knew was this person. Was a male. And she approved of that.

Brett was happy to finally have a home that truly understood. Both his power and blindness. He knew how to get around just fine. Heck once he got use to the place he would even need his special stick. As he used the braille on the name plaques for the dorms he was locating his. He opted not to be shown where his dorm was. He was using his own method. He finally located it four doors on the left from the stairs. That was easy to remember. He felt the braille where it gave his room number his name and his roommate's name. Mavis? That was a girl name right. He could faintly hear someone inside. One per of his blindness was the other senses picked up more to make up for it. Well if there was a good set up for a coed dorm for teens it would be sticking the blind kid in with. He knocked hoping that he wasn't ruining a nap

Looking at the door at the sound of someone at it, Mavis smiled as she stood. She tossed her phone on her bed and looked at the door. She took a breath before opening it. She looked at the boy behind it and rose a brow. "Hello" she told him with a small smile. she moved aside and watched him. "You must be Brett. come on in" she told him as she brushed her hair back. She took another breath, settling the anxiety growing in the pit of her stomach. "Um, your bed is the one closer to the door. Right over here." she explained. "The bathroom is just a couple feet away and we each have a desk in here to do work or whatever we need to do." she was trying to give him the basic tour of the place. "Oh, your dresser lines the wall leadeing to the bathoom. Mine is over by my bed so you do not have to worry about grabbing the wrong things."
She looked at him as she spoke and sighed. "Oh, I have a small cabinet full of snacks that we can share. My mom sends a lot of care packages." she thought about the last one her mom had sent, oreos and nutella. It always made her smile to think about the things she was sent. She sat down and looked around, wondering more about what she should tell him about in the room.

Brett heard the door open and the voice that came with the name Mavis. She sounded about his age. She gave him a verbal tour. Seemed he had the closer bed and it was easy to locate the bathroom. That be good he didn't have to worry about accidentally using her bed. He dod have his blind sitck with him not so much needing it at the moment but it made others give him a wide berth when traveling outside. He found an unoccupied wall hook and hung his stick. He listened in making mental notes. Especially the snack drawer. "I'm glad its a simple room though I'll still likely knock stuff over." He said locating the few boxes of his stuff.

Mavis watched him adjust to the area around her and smiled as she stood. She got her phone and looked at him. "So, is there anything you need help with? I am usually good at organizing things." she explained as she looked up at him. She took a breath and whipped her hands on her jeans. When she was nervous, she was prone to sweat more than usual. She looked at him and smiled again. "You can unpack later if you want and I can give you the grand tour of the place." she continued as she rubbed her arm gently.
Mavis looked around again and went to grab a drink. She got them both some water from her little snack cabinet and held it out to him. "I have some water for you." she explained, "I figure moving into a new place can leave someone thirsty. Dry mouth and all." she explained.

Brett smirked and accepted the water. "Thanks, and yeah I'll likely unpack later. I kinda have a system." He said while uncapping the bottle. Even at room temperature the water was refreshing. "Yeah a tour would be awesome otherwise it a lot of wandering for me." He said. He couldn't help but curious about what power she had. Seeing it was a place in theory everyone had some kind of power it wasn't a farfetched thought. Was his unique? It seemed an atypical power. Sure hadn't heard of it in any stories. It was pretty low key an easy to hide.

When he accepted the water, Mavis smiled as she listened to him. She pushed her glasses up her nose and nodded at his words. "I understand having your own system. I have my own too." she explained. She looked around and sat for a moment, adjusting her leg. It was starting to bug her as it did some times. When he confirmed going to do the tour, Mavis smiled once more and stood. "Well come on" she told him, "I cant walk very quickly as my leg is hurting. But we can make our way through the school." she explained as she brushed her hair back.

"Yeah taking it slow is fine, I tend to be slow anyways." Bret said hoping not to make her nervous. He was plenty enough for the both of them. "Slow is good actually so a cam remember paths to differant places" once he had everything set down the proceded with the tour. He would definitely take tons of mental notes. He did hope he wasn't imposing too much. Even if it was ok that he might need help he still disliked asking for it.

Mavis smiled as she looked at Brett. She led him out and locked the door behind him as she looked around. She began to tell him about the places in the academy, taking him to each one and letting him count as they walked. She didn't speak during that time, letting him conentrate on counting the steps. After an hour or so, she looked at him. "Why don't we get some food?" she suggested, smiling as she brushed her hair behind her ears. "I'm starving. I could make us some sandwiches." she continued as she rolled back on her heels as she looked at him.
