Reply: Trevor tapped his quill on the table trying to recall what he remembered about the constellation he had picked to write about for the assignment the professor had given him. After considering what he knew, he scribbled out the facts he knew about Ursa Major on a spare piece of parchment to get them out. He looked at what he knew and sighed. He itched to pick up his book to add more information, even though the teacher had told them to write what they knew about the constellation on their own. Or had he?

Trevor found the note had written down about the assignment and was relieved when he saw he had been wrong. It just said that he had to tell the teacher about the constellation, so using a book wasn't wrong. Still..he decided to just fill in what he had missed and not get too over detailed. He figured most people would do that already.

An hour and a half later he was rather satisfied with his paper after rechecking and fixing the mistakes he had made. He used a drying spell on the parchment so he could roll it up and put it in his bag for the next day. Then he decided to take a break and go outside for a walk. Then he'd tackle the rest of his assignments.

Reply: Trevor frowned and ran his hand through his hair. He'd done so terribly on his last astronomy class. He wasn't sure why he even bothered with doing the assignments. he had no doubt when he had the chance he'd drop the class. He still had years before that was a possibility though.

With a sigh, he looked over the assignment given to them. "Memorize all the planets and their moons." He grabbed his astronomy book and started going over the planets and trying to get them down in his memory. He was more concerned with remembering the moons though. There were quite a few of them.

He would pause a moment to say the planet names under his breath to get them into memory. Then he'd check it over by looking in the book. "Okay planets down, now for moons." He about groaned when he saw one of them had four moons alone. "How can they have so many moons? It makes no sense."

He kept studying and working on getting them down in memory hoping that there wasn't going to be a surprise quiz on them, though he imagined with his luck that there would be.

Reply: "Three hours? I wonder if they mean nonstop practicing for three hours or just three hours total." Trevor said scratching his head as he read over the assignment for charms class.

He glanced around his room and noticed just how messy it was looking. "Well I guess I can use the levitating charm and try and clean up this place. I wonder how long that will take." He mused. He pulled his wand out and aimed it at a shirt that was laying at his feet. "Wingardium Leviosa!" He said flicking and swishing his wand at the shirt.

The shirt sat there and he sighed. "My pronunciation must be off, I guess practicing it for three hours isn't a bad idea." He tried again enunciating the last word in a slightly different way. This time the shirt rose from the ground making Trevor grin in satisfaction. He directed it with his wand to the hamper and continued practicing the charm until his part of the room was clean. It hadn't even taken an hour to clean everything up.

"Hmm..I guess I could find things outside to practice on and around the castle." He said thoughtfully.

For the next several hours he wandered the castle using the spell to pick up different things he found. A bit of trash here, some musty leaves, even an errant rat that had wandered off. Thankfully it wasn't his rat, though he did recognize who's rat it was. He found the older student looking around for the rat in a hallway and handed it over.

Then he continued on outside to practice some more. He nearly lost track of time he was having so much fun with the charm. "At this rate I'll be really good at the levitating charm." He said with a grin.

Reply: Trevor dumped his book bag down next to him in the Slytherin Common room and dropped into the comfortable chair and settled down to relax for a few moments. It had been a rather long day, and he was glad there weren't any papers due the next day for his classes. "Though I'm sure there are other assignments I could be doing," He said with a sigh and pulled his bag up to go through it for the assignment book where he kept all his reading assignments written down for his classes. He shuffled through to that day's entry and looked over the ones he'd written down.

He ran his finger down the short list and thought over what he should do first. "Well I could read that chapter on Gnomes for my DADA class," He murmured. He reached down to pull the book out and flipped to the chapter.

Pretty soon he was fully engrossed in the chapter, finding it rather fascinating. "Huh, so Jarveys are their natural predators? Interesting," He said as he read on. He couldn't help but laugh when he read about them liking to be chased. "They seem pretty interesting. Why are they in this book?" He wondered out loud.

Reply: Trevor sat down at a table in the library and went over his assignments that were due by Friday. It looked like he had most of it well underway other than the paper for his herbology class on magical plants and their uses. "There are lots of magical plants though," He said scratching his head. "Guess I will just have to talk about as many as I can."

Trevor got to work. It was going to take him probably the entire week to get his paper written right. He managed to get a rough draft written up to start out with, then took a break to work on another project.

He worked through the next few days, fine-tuning his paper, and getting it to how he wanted it to sound. He was very satisfied when he finally finished and had Oscar look it over for him to see if there was anything else that needed changing.

There were a few things that needed tweaking, which Trevor took care of. Then he rewrote the entire thing on a new piece of parchment with all the corrections. He felt rather proud of himself when he handed it into the Herbology professor on Friday afternoon.

Which Assignment
    Year: 1
    Class: Transfiguration
    Number:2
Reply: Trevor sighed heavily as he tried to not get bored with the seemingly excessive note-taking their Transfiguration Professor had kept them doing for the entire first several weeks of classes. Were they ever going to get to actually performing a spell? He eyed the syllabus longingly, wishing they'd get along to attempting the match to needle spell soon. Why did they have to take so many notes about doing a spell that seemed so simple in theory?

He ran a hand through his hair and pulled at the dense hair in frustration. "This is soo boring," He muttered to himself as he tried to keep his mind on the task at hand.

"All right class, quills and papers away, time to attempt the spell." the Professor announced.

Trevor hurriedly stashed his things away into his bag and gripped his wand tightly waiting for the Professor to give the go ahead. He already knew that it wasn't likely he or many of the students would do very well on their first try of the spell. It would take a lot of practice to get it to work. He didn't mind though, just getting to try to do magic was exciting enough for him.

The Professor explained how to do the spell and then walked around watching as the students attempted it. Trevor tried to not feel badly that his attempts didn't really do much to the match. He kept trying though, as he wasn't about to give up. Magic was going to take years to learn, so he might as well be patient about it.

Which Assignment
    Year: 1
    Class: Potions
    Number: 1
Reply: Trevor was rather glad that his assignment for Potions class would take him outside. It was nice to not be stuck indoors writing papers for a change. Now he just needed to try and recall what the three plants looked like so he collected the right ones.

"So Asphodel, dittany and Wiggentree bark." He mused glancing around. "So wiggentree's are magical rowan trees, also known as mountain ash trees. But how do we know if they are magical or not?" He wondered as he walked around the Hogwarts grounds glancing at the trees. "I know they can be used as protection against magical attacks, but are there any identifying features?"

He spied a very red looking tree with red berries and remembered that rowan trees were known for those features. "Wait, magical ones are guarded by bowtruckles." He said and looked around. When he didn't see any coming out to stop him, he moved along checking out other Rowan trees around the grounds. "they are hard to see as well, and only come out when the trees are attacked..or harmed." he said remembering.

"maybe I should try for the other two ingredients," He said with a sigh. He started looking around the ground for the brown colored roundish leaves. It didn't take him long at all before he located some. Recalling their other name, burning bush but not why, he slipped his thick gloves on before picking the plant and stashing it carefully into his bag. Then he moved on to look for the asphodel. He spied the white flowers and the long stem and leaves easily and moved to collect the plant, adding it to his pack.

"Now for the wiggentree bark," He said glancing around. He heard a cry from a few yards away and ran over to see what was going on. Trevor was a bit surprised to see bowtruckles trickling down a tree and attacking a kid. Trevor ran over to help brush the creatures off of him and then darted in to work a piece of bark free and shoved it into his pack. "How'd you get them to attack you?" He asked glancing at the kid.

"I've been going around checking out all the rowan trees with a spell, seeing if any bowtruckles would rush down to protect it. I guess I lucked out on the last one. I did manage to get a piece of bark before they attacked me." The kid said shaking his head. "Did you get a piece?"

"Yeah, I did, I should have thought about using a spell on the tree."

Which Assignment
    Year: 1
    Class: History of Magic
    Number:1
Reply: Trevor sighed as he read over the assignment for the fifth time in a row. "Just how long is a long paper?" He muttered. "Specifics would be nice to have."

He pulled out his history of magic book and flipped through to the part on the Gargoyle war of 1911 and started writing. "All this writing is starting to hurt my wrist," he muttered.

After spending an hour writing, he slipped a marker in his book to mark where he had left off and moved his stuff out of the common room into his bedroom. He took a half hour to play with his rat Salvador and relax a bit to give his brain a bit of break.

Then with a sigh, he put his rat back in his cage and pulled his parchment and book back out and got back to work. He continued working until the dinner bell rang and put his stuff away to get back to after dinner. Maybe leaving this paper til late hadn't been the smartest, but he really was getting tired of all the writing. It was too bad they couldn't use self-writing quills to get work done. His wrists wouldn't be quite so sore from all the homework the professors gave him all the time.

He finally got through the report, and looked over the very long piece of parchment that was now filled, even part of the back of it was written on. "Well I hope that's long enough, now for bed." He sighed, rather glad to have gotten it over with.
