Nahuel glanced over at Achak. The red owl was sitting on his shoulder glancing around the lawn near the owlery. "Looking for a mouse?" Nahuel asked in his native tongue, with a grin on his mouth. The owl let loose a soft cry and fluffed its feathers out as the cool autumn breeze ruffled them.
Nahuel shifted his toes in his mocassins and glanced around. For the moment he and his owl were alone. That he knew wouldn't last for long, even though it was a cool afternoon.
Nahuel started pulling items out of his pocket and glanced at Achak again. "You ready for a game?" He asked and then pulled out several different sized wood rings. Achak hooted, his green gray eyes alighting on the rings.
"Ready? And Go!" Nahuel said throwing the first ring up into the air. Achak watched the ring go flying high into the air and launched himself off of Nahuel's shoulder and caught the ring in his beak as it came back down. He turned in the air and glided back down dropping the ring down into Nahuel's hand and swept past him, skimmed over the grass before coming to a stop and hopped on the ground a few times.
"Good job Achak!" Nahuel praised and pulled held out some more rings. "This time, try catching them with your talons." Nahuel waited until Achak was back into the air before he moved to run underneath his owl familiar and tossed them out in front of him.
He idly wondered if Arona would show up or not, he had mentioned to her that he'd be out with his owl today and had told her if she wanted to she could come watch.

Arona didn't quite know why Nahuel had invited her to watch but she was having a bit of writer's block, not that she would tell anyone as it wasn't anything to do with them. She guessed it wouldn't hurt to go and see her owl.
She was almost to the owlery when she saw three large rings go up into the air getting in closer she could see that it was Nahuel who had tossed them for his owl to catch. She thought for a moment on weather or not she should say something or go and get her own owl first. Then she remembered the song that Fudge Brownie liked the most and sang a few lines. A few moments later Fudge Brownie showed up and "sang" with her. "Yeah I knew you couldn't resist that one." she grinned stroking the brown owl's feathers. "Though I don't know I' might have been off key that time." she said to the owl
She then looked at Nahuel with his owl. "What do you think, it look seems like they are having fun." she said Fudge Brownie puffed her feathers some in protest. "You don't want to try it? or you want your favorite song?" she asked the little bird that nipped at her ear

Liam smiled over at Destiny as he clasped her hand in his and they walked out to the grounds around the castle. "So where did you want to walk today? We've practically gone around the entire width of the Black Lake. Maybe we should try and find somewhere new to walk? Or we could.." He abruptly stopped talking when he spied the red owl performing tricks in the far field.
"Did you see that?" He asked a rather surprised sound in his voice. "That kid taught his owl to do tricks. I wonder how easy it is to teach an owl to do those type of tricks." He mused for a moment.
He blinked when he spotted yet another first year with a very dark brown owl on her arm. "Maybe we should take a moment and watch what they're doing." He said getting the sudden thought that perhaps he could watch and figure out how to teach Anda how to do some of these tricks. Or maybe the younger student might be convinced to help with teaching Anda.
"I wonder how he was able to teach an owl tricks like that." He marveled and then glanced over at Destiny.

Destiny held onto Liam's hand as they walked around, she shrugged a bit "I am not entirely sure, since I'm not sure where we have walked and where we haven't walked" she told him tilting her head to the side and thinking about it. She blinked and glanced in the direction he was looking.
She shook head "did I see what?" she asked him and continued to look in the direction Liam was looking "well I mean some students have the skill and patience to teach their pet some tricks, others do not. Take me for example I probably do not have the patience to teach Argyros any tricks" she told him tapping her chin with a finger intently.

Despite Nahuel being focused on Achak's catching the rings he had tossed up for him, he could hear a voice speaking not that far away. Sometimes he wondered why he had been given such sensitive ears. It sometimes felt like a curse, especially when other kids were talking about him behind his back or making snide remarks.
He wasn't about to let them know or see that it bothered him. He was made of sterner stuff than that. Heck, he'd braved camping out int he wilderness on his own with only a dagger and flint to make weapons to defend himself with. A few hurtful words weren't going to get the best of Nahuel Chivas.
Achak hooted and dove to catch each ring easily with his claws and then dropped them over Nahuel's outstretched arms. He grinned and called out some praises to Achak in one of his mother's languages. "BUna, treaba, esti uimitor!"
He came to a stop and Achak landed on his arm to rest and preen a bit. Nahuel spied Arona standing little ways away and walked over to her with a grin on his face. "Hello, Arona." He said slowly enunciating each word louder and clearer. "Are you enjoying your day so far? Is this your owl? What is their name?" He asked politely.
He stiffened slightly seeing two older students staring at him and Achak then forced himself to relax. He remembered seeing them around the Hufflepuff common room. He didn't remember their names, but they did look to be the friendly sort.
Liam grinned at Destiny's reply to his question and shook his head. "Well, I guess it doesn't really matter. By the time we finish Hogwarts we'll more than likely walk every spot we can at this rate."
Liam glanced over at Destiny's inquiry and shrugged. Thankfully the boy had his owl do another trick so Destiny was able to see it. "I know what you mean, I don't know if I'd be able to teach Anda those sorts of tricks." He said agreeing with her. "Though maybe he could help us teach them. Maybe it would be a fun way to interact with Anda and Argyros." He said thoughtfully. "Maybe we could ask him."
He noticed that the younger boy had spied them and noticed they had been watching and he could see he looked a bit startled. Liam lifted a hand and waved to the other boy. "Unless you'd rather just go for that walk, that is." He said turning to look at Destiny with a thoughtful look on his face.

Arona sang the rest of the song with Fudge Brownie hooting a long with her, though she watched what Nahuel and his owl were doing in amazing tricks with the rings. Then he spoke in a tongue she wasn't familiar with.
When Nahual came over to her and smiled back at him. "Yes it's a nice day, Her name is Fudge Brownie, she's a little mad because I knew she wouldn't be able to resist if her favorite song being sang. But she's forgiven me since I sang the whole thing for her, even if it was Capella." she said petting her owl with the back of her hand.
"Those tricks you two were doing was rather cool," she admitted. "What dialect were you using? It wasn't one I've heard before." she did know a few old languages and French she couldn't place his.
She noticed his glance at older students, "Something the matter?" she asked curiously.

Destiny blinked as the boy noticed them watching him and gave a small wave, before leaning towards Liam "I think we may have scared him with us staring and all" she whispered into his ear. Before glancing back over at the boy and his owl nodding lightly. She tapped her chin lightly with a finger debating with herself if she wanted to teach Argyros some tricks.
"To be honest, if you ask me. I would rather go for a walk since we haven't necessarily seen each other all summer long and would like to make up for some loss time" she told him. "But, if you want we can go over and see if he will help us teach Argyros and Anda some tricks" she told him politely.
