User ImageThe Golden Inquisitor and Eternal Juliet, Aireesse Lavellan

Biography

Nicknamed for both her bright hair and enthusiasm for all things lavish and extravagant, Aireesse was a kind, nobel and well liked Inquisitor when the organization was renewed. Those within her friend and ally circle often affectionately used her nickname, "Airee", in privat, as she kept insisting on it so they wouldn't forget her humble beginnings. While little is known about her due to lack of written record from her clan, Aireesse was the first born of Shania Lavellan. While she originally wanted to be a mage, she early considered "spiritually stump" in her life and her Keeper struggled for many years to help the child figure out her role. It wasn't until Aireesse's teens that she showed promise with a bow and became a professional hunter.

Seeker Cassandra Pentaghast recalls that Airee was surprisingly honest and willing to follow instructions despite their rocky introduction. When the Seeker asked her to cast her bow aside, Airee complied without a second thought despite the danger they were in. The Inquisitor was however also criticized as "soft" and "dangerously naive" by the woman, with the Seeker complaining that Aireesse had a horrible habit of assuming the best of even her foes and taking way too long to make a decision. Aireesse made Cassandra uneasy on several occasions, from blindly accepting the presence of Cole the Spirit and the Tevinter mage Dorian Pavus based solely on a minute interaction, to accepting the rebel mages as allies with no punishment in mind for their previous misdeeds. Indeed, the Inquisitor didn't seemingly have much interest in justice as much as she was focused on gaining allies and allowing for self improvement and redemption. Seeker Cassandra was genuinely baffled when she learned the Dalish elf believed in the maker. The Seeker remains unsure if the Inquisitor was Andrastian though, as she never truly agreed that she was holy or divine without having appeasement in mind for the other party asking.

Varric Tethras, viscount of Kirkwall and the author of "Hard in Hightown", tells stories of the Inquisitor's poor card skills and her frequent losses at Wicked Grace, losing her whole jewerly collection once to their ambassador, Josephine Montilyet. The viscount didn't seem to have anything negative to say about Aireesse, remembering her laughing too hard at his jokes. Their first interactions usually revolved around ending the red lyrium trade that was being smuggled around Thedas, but the pair soon found each other becoming great friends with the Inquisitor taking a big interest in his past as an author. The majority of their time was spent discussing stories, ideas and their strange adventures. Varric notes that the Inquisitor wasn't well traveled and was way too easily impressed and fooled by whatever came out of his mouth.

Josephine Montilyet described the Inquisitor as a very cheery but odd woman. They were on good terms throughout their partnership, though not best friends by any sorts of standards. Aireesse would frequently tease Josephine about the flowers on her desk and ask for advice on how to appeal to the Orlesian court due to her elven heritage, and the ambassador mentions that she was a most excellent student in spite of her having lived most of her life in a tree. Josephine briefly addressed the Inquisitor's poor handling of gold and her outrageous spending on gold paint, but utterly dismissed the rumor that the Inquisition ended because the elf had bankrupted them by buying herself and the Divine a new wardrobe. She's still thankful for the Inquisitor's efforts to help the Montilyet family trade again in Orlais, and has generously named a trading ship after the woman.

Commander Cullen Rutherford denies that he was involved with the Inquisitor at any point and that it's only the kitchenmaiden who thinks so. He and the Inquisitor used to play chess on a weekly basis in the Skyhold gardens, with the result most often ending in a tie. The Commander laments his frustrations with the Inquisitor and her fascination with magic, which seemed to govern most her whims and basis alliances. Nonetheless he admits that the Inquisitor was a gentle, supporting woman who was there for him when his lyrium addiction was at its' worst. Her complete and utter faith in him kept him going, and he considers her one of his best friends.

Iron Bull of the mercenary group "The Chargers" had plenty to say about the Inquisitor, but decided to keep it short. The dragon hunts were the favorite part of his job; the Inquisitor would often chase down the beasts whenever they caused the people too much trouble, and she consistently picked the Iron Bull as her bodyguard during these missions. Personalitywise however, the Iron Bull had issues grasping the Inquisitor. She neither drank nor did she enjoy battle. She was poor at mindgames and more than often all she wanted to talk was eleven history, magic, spirits, and animals. What the pair managed to bond over was their battle for good, questions about the Qunari and weaponry. The Iron Bull briefly tried to teach the Inquisitor to use a two handed axe, but it had a disastrous outcome and they both agreed that it was better that she stuck to a bow for the rest of her life and nothing else.

Divine Victoria, or Leliana as she was known while she was the Inquisition's spymaster, had nothing but good words for the Inquisitor. They both shared a fondness for Nugs, and they still keep in touch for playdates for their pets. The Divine notes that the Inquisitor was almost hilariously shy and scared around her at first, and it wasn't until she caught the elf trying to pet the ravens that they began to bond properly. Apparently the Inquisitor found the Divine utterly terrifying until the ambassador improved their relationship with a few well placed gifts and kind words.

Grand Enchanter Vivienne was one of Inquisitor Aireesse's closest allies, and more than not the pair were found near the second floor balcony, lounging and discussing the circle, magic and the most recent fashion. The Grand Enchanter described the Inquisitor's leadership to be "a confused child playing house" at the beginning, but with some proper guidance Aireesse came into her own. Vivienne gladly informed us that it was her idea to wear white to the battle of Corypheus, and that she still is giving the Inquisitor fashion advice till this day. Vivienne also mentioned that Aireesse was indeed a little too romanticized by the idea of magic, and Vivienne once found herself having to scold the elf for trying to make friends with a Rage demon.

Thom Rainer only praised the Inquisitor for her kindness and efforts towards making everyone around her a better person, and her willingness to work with the Grey Wardens. "She's an admirable woman" he said, and he plans on continuing her legacy by giving others hope in the years to come. Rainier said that working with Aireesse was a breeze, as long as you could withstand her whims, which he never really had a problem with. She was more concerned about protecting her men than she was about winning, and never took a withdraw as a loss, being eternally tactful and optimistic.

Magister Dorian Pavus is apparently the only one left of the Inquisition that hears regularly from the Inquisitor, though they haven't met face to face in a while. The Magister boasts proudly of their magic crystal they communicate with on a near daily basis, and that he's really the one who was really in charge of her wardrobe during the battle with Corypheus. He happily tells tales of Aireesse's poor sassing abilities and her lack of grasp of sarcasm, something he's proud of having finally fixed. He declined to tell anything too personal about Aireesse, preferring the mystery of the conflicting stories flying around.

Sera and Cole were not found to be asked about their opinion, but supposedly the Inquisitor got along well with them. Sera and the Inquisitor often played pranks upon their allies, though Aireesse often gave up herself in the end, feeling bad that she even got roped into it in the first place and blamed Sera for having too good ideas. Not much is known about Cole, nor his tight friendship to the Inquisitor. He accompanied her everywhere, but he was hardly ever seen.

Where the Inquisitor is now, no one is certain. After losing her left arm and disbanding the Inquisition, Aireesse was hardly ever seen again after she retired to the Emerald Graves to join a portion of her clan. Many say that Aireesse changed after her lover, Solas - an elven hedge mage -, disappeared, and that her lack of action might just be her attempting to finally grieve the loss and move on.

Story notes and decisions

Aireesse decided to heed Cassandra's demand to lay down her weapons, but picked the quickest route to the conclave.

Aireesse allied herself with the rebel mages.

Aireesse accepted Vivienne, Blackwall, Sera, Iron Bull, Cole and Dorian as allies.

Aireesse encouraged Dorian to reconcile with his father.

Aireesse saved "The Chargers" and let Iron Bull become a Tal-Vashoth.

Dorian and Iron Bull winded up as a couple.

Leliana wasn't softened and was made Divine despite Aireesse not supporting this decision due to worries that the extreme change in the Chantry could spark a civil war. She's happy she was proven wrong.

Aireesse saved Empress Celene, and Grand Duchess Florianne was sentenced to encloisterment.

Aireesse made Cole more like a spirit.

Aireesse let the Grey Wardens stay and help the Inquisition.

Aireesse let Solas remove her vallaslin.

Aireesse romanced Solas and din't breakup with him at the end.

Aireesse saved Blackwall from hanging and gave him his freedom to redeem himself.

Personality

Docile and delicate about EVERYTHING - Aireesse might not be the most logical woman nor the most well educated, but she's highly inquisitive and willing to learn. Whenever she comes across something new, she has this intense urge to ask "why" and try it out for herself. If she meets a merc with a strange new weapon, she's never too shy to ask if she can try and pick it up and get details on what it's used for. Quite frankly she's easily distracted by new things. How she goes about new things however is a bit strange. She's always very slow and gentle with things. If faced with a lever for example, she walks around it, notes down its' shape and touches it to see how solid it is before attempting to pull, and when pulling she's ginger about it, never using her whole weight at the time to test the limits before going all in! And she'll happily repeat the the process with the next lever she comes across. Some might complain she wastes a lot of time doing this over and over again, but Airee is happy to do things at her own snail pace. In her defense, she's probably a lot more observant than her innocent, blank looks let on. When left alone in a dungeon, it's never her that walks into a trap. Needless to say --- Airee likes adventuring, but she never gets very far on her own.

Not horribly expressive despite all the smiling - Aireesse's default expression is smiling! Afraid? Smile! Angry? Smile! You just horribly embarrassed her? A sweet smile and a laugh! While not good at keeping a consistent and long running lie as she had a tendency to be scatterbrained or focused on other thing, she's most excellent at ruling her face and body language. It's honestly hard to understand what she's actually feeling without her vocalizing it, and since she's been bred to behave it honestly makes things even more difficult to read. A lot of her emotions and phrases are so bathed in metaphors and excessive amounts of words coming out at a waterfall pace, it can be hard to decipher that was just said. Aireesse thinks little of it, and is rather surprised that other people don't have this amount of control.

The most intense of feels - If Aireesse is something, it's romantic. She feels things down in her bones and they're all very genuine to her. She's not trying to be dramatic about it. It's a part of her nature, and she can't turn her empathy off. The sad tugs at her heart strings, and she can't leave it be. When in love, it's the love of her life... but just as swiftly she falls out and she's all miserable and she has to convey that somehow through song, dance or words. She likes to share how she feels, both good and bad, and she has this uncanny ability to put everything related to emotions into words that makes sense and convey exactly what you need them to. Many adore Airee for her ability to listen and understand, but it's also a double edged sword. Airee can be exhausting in the long run due to her intensity. Depending on her friend they call her either loving or clingy, generous or pushing things onto them that they don't want. Her expressions of both love and hate are so fueled that it almost hurts, and she tends to forget herself when she's not among people she's very familiar with. However, thanks to all her sharing and openness, Airee has never, ever struggled psychologically. Sure, she's annoyed with her work and she's been lonely many times, but she's never prone to real jealousy, anxiety, long term melancholy and other things that would generally harm her daily life.

A fan of the ♀ and ♂ - Well, despite Airee thinking everyone should be happy and enjoy the small things in life, she's also a firm believer that gender roles aren't... so... bad? Airee adores the stereo-typically girly: sewing, dresses, taking care of small things, delicate movements and she get so, so, so excited whenever someone treats her as a princess. The growing attitude of the humans that "women can do everything a man can and should too" just baffles her. Like, okay... wanting to mens job is.. okay... she guesses... but why would you want to? Why throw so much tradition away? Most likely it's a byproduct from the elven attitude of balance --- if one way swings too much to the other, the scale tips and all falls. Due to this, Airee often tries to compensate and lead by example whenever she feels her company is too "masculine", which can sometimes be an annoyance. She'll also try to firm up men whenever she feels they tip too much over to the feminine side. But what is feminine and masculine to Airee? Welp. Maybe that should have its' own post... but to her it mostly dives into body language and speech rather than jobs and attire. She won't be horrified by a short haired woman wielding a shield and sword, but she will be horrified if she spreads her legs too widely while sitting.

Fickle lil pickle - Airee has never been stubborn about much. Sure, she is persistent about a few things, but she's never head strong and setting her mind to something, working tirelessly to get there, batting competition out of her way. My gawd she's not a fan of any type of confrontation, unless it's on the stage or done to save someone. She has a hard time choosing between options, and more than not out of habit just goes with whatever is easiest or kindest. Is it because she's afraid that she'll have to battle for something? Is it because she doesn't like to be in charge of her own decisions? Does she overthink everything considering how much time she spends observing and experimenting with new things? One thing is for sure! Whenever you ask her about something, be sure she'll just mumble and you'll have to make out the answer for yourself.

Abilities

Though her most notable ability was her Mark and closing the tears, what truly made Aireesse fearsome was her skill with the bow. Not only was she graceful, but the speed she fired along with her accuracy was eerie. If an enemy miraculously managed to get too close for her to fire, she effortlessly jumped several feet back and stunned them with explosives or startled them by breaking a glass bottle against her chest, covering herself in a protective layer of ice. Aireesse often dabbled with tonics and grenades in her sparetime to make up for her frail build, which proved most useful as her enemies would often flee with her smallclothes on fire if they provoked her enough.

Appearance

Golden hair in thick curls and curves of an hourglass, Aireesse doesn't look much like other Dalish elves, and with her vallaslin now gone it's hard to think she even was one in the first place. Aireesse sense of style and clothing much more resembled the Orleasian court than it did her heritage --- golden trimmings, rainbow tinted glass jewelry, engraved buttons, pure whites and flowing skirts whenever she wasn't out on a mission. Indeed, she presented herself much more like a queen of a fantasy kingdom rather than a powerful leader, which made her strangely endearing and endlessly fascinating to look at.

One of her most defining traits however was the strange, intense blue color of her eyes, which one couldn't miss even if she was halfway across the yard. Her eyebrows were meticulously trimmed and groomed, and she always blushed her cheeks with pink each morning. Aireesse was and still is described as quite the beauty.

After the Qunari tried to attack the Exalted Council, Aireesse lost her left forearm. No one is quite sure how, but her hunter days may be over.

Other information

Aireesse, though a big fan of all things expensive and sparkly, is poor at handling money and is more than often broke or in debt to someone after purchasing a new mount she can dote on, buying decor and clothes. She once purchased enough gold paint to cover half of Skyhold.

Aireesse's greatest wish while she was a child was to become a mage. Unfortunately, Aireesse didn't seem to have any talent for it, and she could barely even get into the Fade in the first place. As she became involved with the Inquisition however, she began to study magic again and became a Tempest as a compromise.

Aireesse's other talent, besides using a bow, is acting. She's quite the opera fan and will talk endlessly about different plays if given the chance.

Aireesse' vallaslin was the one belonging to Mythal, though Aireesse didn't pick it herself, but rather chose it after consulting her mother. Quite honestly Aireesse wasn't a fan of bloodwriting in the first place, not because she thought them ugly or had her doubts about them... she simply thought the process looked too painful, and a vallaslin would clash with her outfit. After much deliberation and almost a year and a half of procrastination, she decided to get it in blue to match her eyes. It was also the color that stung the least.

The nickname "Eternal Juliet" is what it is --- Aireesse is the type of person who'll love until the end of days once fallen, and that's the end of that. She ain't gonna budge.

Aireesse can't look someone in the eye if she knows she's guilty of something. emotion_awesome

User ImageEnchantress and Lady Luck, Pembe Lavellan

Biography

Miss Pembe Levellan has lived a rather unusual life for a qunari Her mother, Aireesse Lavellan, was the elven Inquisitor that faced Corypheus and closed the rift in the sky, and her father was the leader of the mercenary band "The Chargers", Iron Bull. Born sickly and small, Pembe lived a most sheltered life completely spoiled rotten by her parents. Considered completely incompetent at throwing daggers and wielding heavy weaponry, Pembe was instead given the opportunity to become an artist and scholar, proving herself to be a most excellent dancer and performer.

Interestingly enough, Pembe turned out to be quite adept at martial arts, and began picking up bits and pieces as her parents traveled across Thedas, protecting the realm as they always do. At some point, Pembe had developed her own unpredictable style, shocking both her mother and father when they finally realized what kind of little lethal minx they had raised, and once she incorporated in the elemental bottles of the Tempest, Pembe had thoroughly convinced everyone around her that she didn't need sharp objects to protect herself.

Eager to continue her "education" and "training", Pembe eventually set off on her own, and parading herself as a performer wherever she ended up to build up funds and get around without much questioning. Pretending to be a Tal-Vashoth mage and fortune teller became her favorite role to play, and it didn't take her long to build up a reputation as a witch, attracting all sorts of interesting people that she wouldn't normally have access to. Currently she's trying to charm her way into a proper band of Qunari around the Tevinter boarder, but her attempts have so far been unsuccessful at best, and near-death experiences at worst. She remains optimistic.

Story notes and decisions

Personality

Bubbly butterfly - Always perky like she's gobbles up sugar for breakfast, Pembe is optimistic, cheerful and expressive much like her mother. This goofball however, seems to be running all over the place like a puppy stead of trying to stand around like a proper lady. Strangers are hardly ever considered dangerous, and are treated like friends until proven otherwise. Both Airee and Bull have had their share of scares due to this, as their little girl just suddenly wandered off after a cart to talk to the man with the horse to make friendlies. Pembe's mouth always seems to be in motion, be it whistling, singing or giggling, much to everyone's annoyance. She feels absolutely uncomfortable being alone in her own company, and does everything she can to surround herself with people, and if need be just some noise to keep her ears distracted. She becomes fiercely bored if left to her own devices, and she's not above starting to tease others or pull at their sore spots to keep herself entertained if she's not getting any meaning interaction or replies despite her best efforts at being cheery. She doesn't easily get along with silent people.

Daddy dearest can't tell her "no", and neither can you - Pembe is not above manipulation to get what she wants, and she takes "no" as a codeword for "find a more creative way for me to say yes" rather than rejection. Screaming, crying, batting her eyelashes... it doesn't matter if it's her parents or a stranger: she's gonna do what she has to, to get what she wants. When she sees gold she wants, it's already hers up in her head, but she's not as delusional as to think she just deserves stuff because she exists. As a result of all the above, Pembe has become most efficient at networking and making connections to shorten the distance between her whims and wants. She takes great care of her appearance, and it's of utmost importance that she comes off as special, unique and important. Special, unique and important people get more stuff you know? As a result of understanding the important of her exterior, Pembe is awfully vain and isn't a fan of anything that might get her dirty.

Is she naive or is she playing stupid? - Naive is a word that's commonly used to describe her, but is frequently wrong. Despite being seemingly vapid, vain and more shallow than a rain puddle, Pembe is far from dumb. She has a rather insane knack for picking up languages and recognizing patterns, and she's more than capable of talking circles around even the most famous charlatans in Val Royeaux if she had to. Papa Iron Bull taught her well, and Pembe has become a social chameleon capable of getting anywhere she needs to be. On her travels she's usually found that appearing dull and innocent is more beneficial than tough and wary; more people talk openly to her, show genuine concern and give her more discounts for being just that cute. Unfortunately, having played this persona for so long, she sometimes has trouble leaving it as the door, and among more academic and logic minded people she's often dismissed as dull and of little worth. Little more than a social climber getting lucky. Pembe does in truth tend to over-analyze things, and has a bad habit of insisting that things are connected when they aren't. She falls into the trap of believing that coloration and causation hold hands at all times, but thankfully the more skeptic part of her brain is functioning enough to keep on her track.

Labor is for dumb people - Pembe, while appreciative of hard work, isn't a fan of chores and other meaningless tasks. She's a firm believer in "work smarter, not harder", and will cut corners on things she perceives as not being worth her time. She's not the one you put on dish-washing duty unless you either want dirty plates or entirely new ones after she went shopping for cutlery that food sticks less to. She doesn't like long dinners with a surplus of dishes either, instead opting to make all her food at most in two different pots, and then mix everything together in a single bowl. She also eats with chopsticks instead of a fork and knife, as they take up less space and are easier to throw away if needed. Hating "labor" so consistently, Pembe is near obsessed with good organization and simple solutions when it comes to packing and travelling. One hardly finds anything that doesn't have a double use when Pembe empties her bag. Sure, her jewelry's primary function is to make her more appealing, but they can also be traded away if she needs extra cash. It's strange how willing she is to part with her own things considering how much trouble she goes through to get them, but that's Pembe for ya.

Abilities

Pembe is usually athletic, and easily bends in such ways only acrobats could dream of. While not one for heavy lifting and traditional exercise, Pembe's lean and strong body doesn't only snake around her opponents: she'll happily use them as launchpads and swing around their outstretch limbs to get extra momentum. Her legs by themselves can easily snap a neck, and the soles of her feet have hardened enough for her to temporary balance on a regularly used sword. Seemingly there is nothing her body can't do, except naturally reach the highest shelf without resulting to climbing.

Pembe's martial arts style is loosely based upon capoeira, taido and kung fu (snake and crane) --- unusual rhythm, seemingly unnecessary movements and constant change of pace, it's hard to keep up with her. Being smaller than average, Pembe relies on speed and evasion to win her battles. No matter how easily she can climb a pole and wrap around it, her lack of armor in favor of maximum mobility leaves her vulnerable to heavy hits. To compensate for this, Pembe has also specialized herself within the art of the Tempest, using easily breakable bottles to set herself ablaze to spook opponents and make herself a less desirable target in combat.

Appearance

Pembe is around a head shorter than the average human woman, making her not only small for the average Orlaisian, but unusually short for a qunari. Much like her mother, she has big eyes, pale hair and a soft build. She inherited her grey skin from her father, though no-one is quite sure where her golden eyes came from, along with her freckles. Her clothes tend to be a mixture of a bunch of cultures --- the gold of the human nobility, the embroidery of the elves, and the silhouettes of the qunari, it's hard to tell exactly where Pembe is from, along with her origins unless you're familiar with her. Her horns are often gilded and decorated, a habit she picked up from her mother after seeing her trying desperately to dress up her father in "proper attire".

User Image User Image User Image User Image

Other information

Pembe is highly curious, and asks way too many questions.

Her qunlat is flawless, but her knowledge of the Qun is strangely poor as her father has focused on just giving her enough information to keep away from other Qunari, and learn how to handle a crowd of them in case they come after her. She's not terribly interested in learning about them, but wants, like, all their clothes and has robbed a few bands dry for material and vitaar.

Pembe walks more on her toes, almost skipping across rooms and roads rather than plain walking.

She's still asking papa if they can get a puppy. qAq SHE WANTS A MABARI WAR DOG DAMMIT.

While many simply attribute Pembe's achievements to luck, she very much works hard to get into the position she wants, and whenever she insists it's a "coincidence" you can bet she meant for that to happen.

One of Pembe's less desirable talents is her ability to trash talk people into tears if she wants. Thank gawd she rarely does. She's spooky good at pinpointing people's insecurities and doubling down on them.

User ImageUlrick Beastfoot, King of Grey Sea

Biography

Story notes and decisions

Personality

Come closer... closer... - Ulrick likes to be close to people, be it physically or mentally. His smiles are always well timed and warm, very rarely insincere and leering. He likes it when people are comfortable around him, and the best way he knows how is to be as inviting, charming and cool as possible. Ulrick is strangely enough a guy who's not easily excited or exuberant, but rather more genuine and gentle during his conversations. He has an awful habit of getting in people's personal space, grabbing their hands, shoulders and caressing when he's in a good mood. Being physical with people is how he shows affection and generally communicates, and he doesn't enjoy being denied a handshake or a hug. Hell, his physical habits even come out while he's facing an enemy or holding a hostage. They can not escape a pat on on the cheek no matter how hard they try. As a result of this, Ulrick's hands are always full of bite marks, and he often jokes that his fingers will either turn into steel or be gone by the weekend.

A sprinkle of love on-top - Though stuck in a horrible, horrible profession... Ulrick is, at heart, a little bit of hippie. He's all for spreading love (by "blowing the minds" of young ladies he meets whenever he's on land), goodwill (which ultimately profits him a little bit) and charity (which is paying his crew generously with someone else's money). Truly, he is a good man deep, deep, deeeeeeeeeep down, or so he would like you to think. He doesn't like starting fights as much as he likes finishing them, and he'd rather convince you that you're on the same side as him than fire the first shot. Honestly, he's surprisingly passive, preferring his opponents to reveal their goals so he can work off those instead of spilling blood. If he can solve a problem by shaking hands and giving up a few coins instead of harming people, that's the route he'll choose every time. His network and contracts are days long by now, and he seems to have a treaty with just about everybody... except the Qunari. ******** the Qunari.

Cocksure that the sun revolves around him - Ulrick views himself as the badass and suave protagonist of his life, and damn he acts like it to. Beyond his crew, his priority is himself, and strangers might find themselves being used as meat shields as he explains why rather them than him need to be at the sharp end of the knife. He absolutely loves to boast about his accomplishments, and he embellishes them as time goes by, making them more extravagant. While he can sometimes come across as a narcissistic jerk, this attitude has been a lifesaver more than once and drives him to excel and exceed expectations. If he didn't believe he could be a pirate king, he wouldn't have gotten there in the first place. He's not the type to get stuck on a roadblock for long. Funnily enough he has a bad habit of entering the classic "villain monolog" whenever he captures someone, and it has bit his back several times. It's soooo hard to stop though. He has built up way too good a reputation not to do it.

Feeds the monster in the closet - Ulrick is many things: fun, a good mediator, a leader to his crew and eternally optimistic and practical. He is indeed a wonderful, magnificent man! But also the most superstitious guy in the universe. Ulrick believes in all the Gods; the elven patrons, Andraste, the Old Gods... he worships them all in different degrees, mostly to keep this appeased and prevent demons from haunting him or have spirits torment in the afterlife. He's never exactly been a guy naturally deserving of blessings, and he seeks to compensate for that. He carries around a pocket full of charms, protective herb satchels and even has tattoos meant to give him safe travels all over his body. Unfortunately this desire not to get murdered by a higher power makes him useless in supposed haunted places, even if there's nothing there. On a positive note: he knows more about the occult, worship and sacrifice than most priests and cults!
