Class had just taken a break for the afternoon so that all the little freshies could have their lunch. Well, not all of them. There was group A and B, rotating out the herds of kids as they came and went to the cafeteria. He was part of group B, who got to have lunch second, before recess! He walked in along with his classmates into the grand open room, waiting his turn in line to get a tray with todays specials. A mini lasagna, green beans, and assorted fruits. Picking apple juice for his drink, and a little crunchy chocolate bar for his dessert, next came the biggest challenge: finding somewhere to sit. Unfortunately, Orion had the A lunch meaning he didn't get to eat with his brother... and he couldn't see any of his other siblings around! Nerves already ramping up, the hybrid anxiously walked around for a seat, almost panicked he wouldn't find one!

 Tolaram quietly left the classroom he was in and went towards the lunchroom, he had only made one friend well sorta friend on a field trip. So Tolaram didn't have anyone to sit with, so, for the most part, Tolaram was just looking for a quiet place to sit down so he could eat his lunch. He was also part of group B though he didn't pay much attention to that just waiting for the teachers to tell him it was lunch time. Tolaram picked up his tray with his A mini lasagna, green beans. He decided to pick a bunch of grapes for his fruit. Then he was stuck trying to decide what dessert he wanted.. Finally, Tolaram picked chocolate pudding and went to go find a seat. Tolaram quietly took a seat at an empty table and started to eat his grapes nibbling them slowly. Then he looked up and saw the hybrid wandering around trying to find a spot. Tolaram waved his hand at the hybrid, perhaps they would be less shocked about his strange eyes than the last freshling had been. Tolaram was still rather confused about that situation, since he didn't think there was anything wrong with his eyes.

There were gaggles of groups all squawking and laughing merrily at their designated tables. Oh but Juju didn't have the courage to join in on them... no he wasn't confident like his awesome little brother! If Orion were here he'd march right up to any old table and instantly be making friends with everyone there! Eyes darted around anxiously, fingers gripping way too tightly to his small tray that it shook slightly from the force. A table... a table.... which one???!!!
But suddenly, something unusual happened... perking up, his antenna rising straight, he stared at someone.... gesturing. In his direction. To him? Slowly he began to look around him to double check. That was... aimed for him? He was being beckoned??? His entire face was a strange mixture of excitement and distress, hurrying over towards the kind soul that had extended such an unexpected offer his way.
"A-are you offering for m-me to sit... sit here...???" He asked undeniably hopeful, easy to see in his eyes and hear in his voice... but his sporadic increase of emotions set his little body into overdrive, making his jittering nerves and increased pace accidentally bump into the corner of the table Tolaram was at, causing Juju's table to go flying right onto the poor little hallow!
Stumbling a little he gasped loudly in shock as horror stretched onto his face, " ohmygosh.... I AM SO SORRY!!!" He exclaimed, tiny hands quickly moving to trying and wipe off the food that'd gotten all over the kind hallow.... only making it smear....

Tolaram waited patiently to see if the freshling would choose to sit with him, perhaps not. After all, that one freshling pointed out his eyes were weird. Tola still didn't understand that it didn't see an issue. Tolaram frowned seeing the excitement and panic on the freshlings face, were his eyes really that scary that he couldn't invite someone to eat with him without problems?? Tolaram sighed when he heard the freshling stutter, he misread the panic as panic about his eyes and looked down at the table. "I am sorry if my invitation alarmed you, I was just trying to be nice." Tolaram said sadly. "You don't have to set with me if you don't want to.." Tolaram blinked confused by being covered by stuff. "Umm I am ok.. umm what are we doing??" Tolaram asked calmly still a bit confused. Why was he covered in food. The freshling hadn't attacked him with the food right?? They had said they were sorry so it wasn't an attack because of his eyes. "I am sorry did my strange eyes frighten you so that you tripped and dropped your tray??" Tola asked calmly. Then started to help clean up the mess. The situation didn't rattle him, then again not much ever did. "I am Tolaram." He added simply "Also if we are to have lunch I believe we need new food."

Juju began to grow tears, welling up quickly at the corners of his eyes. It was getting worse.... falling to his knees, he couldn't even register poor Tola's words, clinging to the shirt he'd ruined, "I AM SO S-SORRY!" He wailed, antenna and wings drooping drastically. Only in his utter defeat was he able to, in delay, acknowledge what the other freshling had said. Staring up to him, eyes shimmering with liquid, confusion tinted his defeated expression. Eyes? Strange? Frighten? He didn't understand. "Wh-wha...?" Looking at the others eyes he couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. But he wasn't the brightest, either. "Eyes aren't scary..." oh but bless the gods the other child didn't seem mad at him! If anything he was.... so calm. It helped the neurotic little hybrid gather himself a little more, sniffling softly as his mind stopped whirling out of control.
Oh but that gave him an idea! Standing up slowly he pulled off his own sweater, and offered it to the other kid, "here you can have mine!" He declared, " I-I'll wash yours and try to make it clean again!" But he was so bad at cleaning.....

Tolaram was relieved that the problem wasn't his eyes, he would have been really sad if someone else had thought his eyes were weird. "It was an accident correct?? You have already sad you were sorry, which lead me to believe you didn't drop your food on me because you didn't like me." Tolaram said whipping food off of his face. "I am unharmed, are you unharmed??" Tolaram asked as he looked the hybrid over. "I do not wish to miss lunch I am still hungry." He shook his head "I am not worried about the mess I will go to the boy's room after lunch and then ask one of the caretakers to help me wash my sweater later tonight." Tola said pushing Juju's shirt back at them, he didn't want the other freshling to be wet or cold. He would be fine till later on. "Come now, if you wish to join me for lunch I would welcome the company." Tolaram said with a small smile. "Umm I don't believe I got your name??"

Juju's eyes sparkled with both the tears and awe of how calm the other freshling was being. They weren't mad at him... and accepted his multitude of apologies so readily! Slowly his antenna and wings began to right themselves, while odd looks were aimed towards the pair from the dramatics Juju had caused.
He couldn't believe it... someone so nice to him, like his brother, and Ziya, and mother... someone outside of his family relations! Filling with joy, he quickly fussed with getting his shirt back on, popping his wings through the holes in the back. "Thank you so much! You're so very nice and kind!" He happily wibbled. But yes Tola was right, they'd need new food! Kneeling down to clean up the spilt food as best he could, Juju perked his antenna with surprise. Oh right! Introductions! Popping back up with his messy tray, a squiggly looking smile worked its way along his face, "my names Jujube!" He answered a lot more bashfully now. "Thanks for letting me eat with you, too. My siblings don't have this lunch with me, and my friend Tahir doesn't either."
Just as quickly as he'd wilted to a more shy demeanor he pricked up to a more peppy, overly anxious nature again, "you can have some of my food, Tolaram!" He glanced at his smeared and disorderly tray. "Once we get we food!"

Tolaram just stood up and brushed himself off a bit, he still had a goal in mind. Have lunch with Juju it was a simple goal and he would not fail. "It's ok Juju dry your tears." Tolaram said softly "It was merely an accident with have already figured that out, and you are not terrified of my eyes, so I am thankful of that." Tola said softly. Tolaram smiled "I am very glad to meet you Jujube." Tolaram said cheerfully. He wasn't worried about a mess the chance of making a friend was far more important than being upset about some flying food. Tolaram shook his head and then said. "No thank you for accepting my invitation, I was starting to wonder if I would ever find a possible friend." Tola said softly. "Come, Jujube let us just go get some more food, then we can talk perhaps about what things you like. I like shiny stones and shells." Tola said in his normal tone.

His face was practically beaming with absolute, pure delight, as opposed to its once devestated expression it had just moments ago. He'd made a mistake... and it involved someone else... but he hadn't gotten yelled at or angered the other person. Everything was ok! Significantly perked up now, he had a little pep in his step, smile unable to leave his face, "I'm glad to meet you too, Tolaram! You are so nice! Thank you for being so nice!" he practically cooed with happiness. "I bet anyone would want to be friends with soemone as nice as you!" he praised, leading the way back to the serving area, making sure his new company kept up with him, "yes more food, yes more talking!" he repeated joyfully, "stones and shells are nice, I like...!" he suddenly slowed, eyes wandering to the ceiling as he thought .What did he like... hm... "video games are nice!" he replied, back to trotting for a new tray of food. He picked nearly everything the same but remembered... Tolaram had picked pudding... so he did too! he could give it to the other freshling for how kind he'd been!

Tolaram smiled as he walked and Jujube bounced along with him, Juju was so sweet and charming. "You are the sweet one, you might not have realized but I'm a Hallowed and not everyone seeing me as nice, one thought I was an albino because of my eyes." Tola shrugged "But you didn't comment on my eyes at all, you are very kind to have worried over me after spilling the food, I am sure some would have just walked away." Tolaram said softly. Tolaram grabbed a new tray his sweater still a mess, but he was spending time with Juju and that was worth far more than a clean sweater. He smiled when Jujube said he liked shells and stones as well. "I have never played video games are they fun??" Tola asked curiously. Once Tolaram had his food on his tray he went to look for a new spot to sit with Jujube since the spot they had been in before was being cleaned by school staff at the moment. "Do you see a good spot?? Or perhaps we could go eat outside instead?" He pondered to Juju.

Juju's antenna sprang straight up from the compliment aimed back at him! Sweet.... wait... he was sweet?? no one had ever called him that before... Bashfully, his pinstraight fluffy antenna curled, and his cheeks heated. Clearly not used to praise, he shyly twitched his wings, face spreading with a goofy little squiggle of a smile. "Oh gosh... that's so nice of you to say!" he murmured. He'd have to tell Orion, and see what his brother thought! But oh the eye thing was mentioned again. Slowly, he peered at Tolaram's face, staring at his eyes, trying with all his might to see what was diferent. "Hallowed?" he'd heard that word before... "Your eyes look really cool to me. They remind me of shiny stones!" he chirped in response. Oh but hold up... Tola had never played videogames before!?! Startled by this, his whole posture straightened, and he... 'vibrated' in place with shock, "Yeah they are!" he exclaimed, voice volume boosting with his excitement. "I'll show ya after we eat!" he declared, now hurrying faster, "yeah, yeah, outside, outside!" he sang happily, dashing off as fast as possible without spilling or dropping his food, looking back constantly to make sure Tolaram was following. He had a lunch buddy AND got to talk about fun stuff. What a great day this was!
