She'd been cussing like crazy since the moment she realized it. Like... forty-five minutes ago. She could practically hear the trick-or-treaters looming outside her apartment door, waiting expectantly for candy that uh. Wasn't... there any more...
The store had jack. s**t. Like... how. She'd been baffled. How did stores actually run out of those giant bags? She didn't think that was possible. So she'd hopped a bus and bounced around in her seat until she got to the necessary stop, bee-lined for the address she knew by heart.
Grabbing her phone, she sent out a quick text before she even got to the building.
Kiddo 2 minutes away, lemme in!!!
She figured if any household had excess candy around, it'd be this one. Surely Alex's mom bought more than she really needed... in which case surely Kailey could grab some... Otherwise she'd have to go run to more stores...
...probably as Morgan. And likely not paying for anything because there weren't pockets for a wallet on that uniform.
Halloween emergency!!!

The Agread house hold was busy as it often was around holidays. Being a single working mother with a very excitable eight year old daughter meant that Caitlin had to do a lot of preparation work for holidays. But she thought they were at last ready for Halloween. She had set up a bowl of candy just outside their apartment door for the trick-or-treaters and she had planned out a route for them to take on their trick-or-treating. It wasn't something she had intended to do but after the incident at the fall festival she wasn't taking any more risks than necessary. Really she would have preferred to have not gone out at all, but she knew Alex would just be heart broken if she didn't get to go trick-or-treating.
Alex for her part had gotten all dressed up in her costume, this year she was dressed as a witch. Sure it was a bit simple, but it was cute and she couldn't help but find it funny since now she actually really could use magic.
She was playing with some of her toys while her mom went to go get dressed up in her costume, which was also a witch. Alex heard the cell phone ding and she saw her sister's message. "Mommy, Kailey says she's coming over." Alex called out. "Right now? Ok, sweetie can you let her in." Caitlin called out from her bedroom. "Kay!"
When she heard the knock Alex jumped up and opened up the door excited to see her big sis, however she was a bit disappointed to see that Kailey wasn't in a costume. "Why aren't you dressed up?"

When she spotted the bowl of candy outside the apartment door, her heart fell. s**t. A sign that Caitlin and Alex weren't planning on staying around the house. Maybe she'd be lucky and they'd have extra candy in the apartment...
When the door opened and Alex was standing there in her costume, Kailey snorted at the question. She did snap a photo of Alex in her costume though, since the kid did look adorable. "I wasn't planning on going out, hun," she chirped, looking again to the bowl of candy.
"Kinda have a problem. Does your mom have extra candy around? I uh... don't have any for trick-or-treaters tonight and really need more... stores I went to are out!"

"You still should have worn something, it's Halloween you're suppose to." Alex protested.
Caitlin having heard the conversation walked out of her bedroom in her costume, though she was still putting on her earrings. "I'm sorry dear, I only bought enough for the trick-or-treaters. Since I'm taking Alex out tonight, I didn't want to have too much candy in the house." She said honestly sympathetic to the young lady's plight, she knew how kids acted when they didn't get their sweets, there was a reason 'trick' was in the name after all.
"Maybe try some of downtown stores." Caitlin suggested knowing that a lot of the big stores were sold out.
"Oh can I go with you? Please!" Alex interjected wanting to hang out with her sister. Caitlin looked to Kailey as if to ask if she would be ok with it.

Kailey waved her off a little, laughing. "I'll figure something out when I'm back home." She dressed up enough when she was working. Halloween events at the club were... insane, to say the least. Halloween for her was a time to enjoy other people having fun in their costumes.
Like Alex clearly was.
Kailey gave a whistle of approval when Caitlin came out in her attire, grinning briefly before groaning to hear the confirmation of her fears. "Nah I get it. Super happy you guys are going out together though." A part of her kinda envied them, but... nah. Halloween wasn't her time to be out and about in a costume. It was her time to chill in her apartment, watch horror and slasher flics, and just... relax. Maybe next year though, she could go out with Alex for trick or treating...
The suggestion made her nod and sigh. "Yeah just need to go fast with-- oh, yeah you could." She blinked a bit at the enthusiastic offer from Alex, trying to calculate in her head how fast they'd need to go to make it to the different stores and look over their options. It'd... well. Kailey'd begun to figure Morgan might be the fastest way to get around, and even if Arthur joined her... they could make that work. But she kinda didn't have her wallet as Morgan so... hm. She'd just tell Arthur to look the other way and uh. Not... at... what she was doing.
Yeah she didn't need to teach her kid sister how to steal candy from stores while powered. Magical masks were awesome but uh. Bad habits she didn't need to share.
"Yeah sure... I mean, we'll have to be quick. You ok with that?" She kinda hoped Alex got the um... hint.

"Alright Alex, I expect you to be on your best behavior for your sister. If she tells me you were misbehaving I will cancel trick-or-treating tonight." Caitlin warned only partly serious about the punishment. Alex nodded in fear, she would definitely behave after all she didn't want to miss out on candy.
Alex also nodded at Kailey's condition, racing over to the coat rack by the door to retrieve her jacket. The bright pink jacket kind of clashed with her black witch dress but Alex didn't mind. "Ok, lets go!" She then grabbed Kailey's hand and started pulling her to the door, her youthful impatient getting the better of her.
"Have fun you two." Caitlin called out before going back to her room to finish getting ready.
"So are we taking the bus?" Alex asked once they were out the door.

Kailey all too quickly followed Alex out the door, giving a quick, "Sure she'll be fine, I'll have her back soon," to Caitlin as they rushed out the door. Once outside though, Kailey began to look around, weighing their options for where they could transform.
"Nah, we're taking the rooftops," she said simply, as if it were as normal as talking about the weather, squeezing her sister's hand as she now lead her off towards the side of the building, fishing her pen out. "Wait. You do have your pen, right?" She suddenly paused and eyed Alex, unsure if the kid frequently carried it or not. Pros and cons if she did, as Kailey wasn't keen to knowing Arthuradel went off on her own, but it wasn't like she could be constantly policing her sister's habits.

"Uh huh!" Alex said excitedly once they were far enough from her home. "I always have it!" She loved her magic powers and she never wanted to be separated from it.
"Arthuradel Power Make-Up!" She changed into her senshi form and immediately hopped up on the roof. "Come on slow poke or there won't be any candy left!" She urges as she took off across the roof tops giggling into the night. She knew this would be a fun Halloween
