Karma. Was one thing that her life had cycled around, and no matter what pride she followed, what love she followed, karma still remained. But this time, karma gave her the short end of the stick. She raised her children to be great warriors and one- a story teller. She was good to her husband. Why did her gods forsake her to near-death torture for so many years. Finally, when the vampires were raided and their outpost cleared, she was left unattended for two days, and two nights. When she no longer heard steps towards her cave- she lifted her bloody head. It didn't take her long to break free.
She had nearly forgotten what her family looked like, and even more so- the trauma of watching her husband die caused her to erase the memory of what he looked like. His voice had gotten her through the torture though, and it was the only thing she held on to. Walking through the absence of the deserts then in to the forests. She walked for what seemed like decades til she found water. There, she slowly began clean herself off the hard crushed old blood her body was decorated in. When she rose, she felt like her very life was cleaned of her.
She was free......
That was two months ago. With no other signs of a lion or lioness. She fed off the fish that bred within the lake. Her muscles were damaged, and she begun to learn different ways of coping with her limps til finally she conditioned herself to push, but there was no future but to clear her karma now. her ears laid back as she laid within the forest at the very edge to overlook the tall golden grass- she didn't want to leave the forest, not til she cleaned her karma slate.
Her eyes finally closed, after what seemed days of not sleeping. Not wanting to bring back the nightmares. This time, her cat nap was calm... for the moment.

Anansi was taking her time strolling along the outskirts of the pride's territory. She had nothing but faith in her guardians to protect the borders of their land from any potential threats that might come their way. Sometimes she just liked to see for herself what the current status of their surroundings were. However, if she were being totally honest with herself in this particular moment, all she really wanted was some time alone.
She was proud of what she and the other lionesses had built here. Anansi would do whatever she had to in order to keep everyone safe, cared for, and strong. At times though, it became overwhelming for her living with the knowledge that the future of her new home rested weightily on her back.
The thoughts that were running through the dark lioness' head came to an abrupt halt as she heard sounds coming from distance. Creeping slowly and silently through the foliage and vines, the Anansi was surprised to spot another lioness not too far from her current position. Spying on her for a moment, she didn't seem to be in good shape. So, deciding to take a risk, Anansi slowly approached the other so as to not frighten her.
"Hello there, you don't look so good."

Foot steps. Her ears rose and so did her head, to the exact direction the lioness came from. Ears panned back as she rose and growled. Luckily her maw after, and watched again til the face came in to view. For some reason, it looked familiar. Too familiar. "Just fine." She came back with and squinted her eyes. "If these are your grounds, I'll gladly leave them. Peacefully." Her voice was strong, and her body rose to show she was able bodied for the moment. Now, her scarring could be seen clearly. Never the less, she put in her mind 'never let them see you faulter' and that's exactly what she made sure of. Her body stilled for a moment, and it ached in doing so but her face never waivered. Then she turned from the rock that she had laid upon, and began to retreat towards the forest again. Showing that she was not a threat.

"Wait", Anansi called after the other lioness as she slowly stepped toward her retreating form,"You don't have to leave so quickly."
Even though she was always cautious of strangers, she could see that this lioness was in no shape to put up much of a fight. Besides, more than anything she looked like she needed help. As a leader, the main factor that drove her and kept her motivated was her desire to keep the lionesses strong and safe. She knew that appearances could be decietful, but this lioness did not seem like a danger, and Anansi wanted to do something for her if she could.
"Do you need help? I can help you," she spoke in a low tone so as not to sound hostile.

The lioness's voice was somewhat non confrontational, which made Gin turn her head just slightly and slow her gate.
Did she need help?
She thought about this, and looked down. Thinking about all the time she spent screaming for help but it never arrived. There was a long inhale as she looked up in to the sky. Barely being able to contain the tears that fought the edges of her eyes.
"I am fine." She said strongly.
Then she turned around to greet the lioness that came after her.
To her surprise, the harsh look didn't waiver, but she did note the tears of the amazons... Or what seemed like it.
"You look familiar." She took a step forward, then shook her head. "Like a ghost." The pause was for her to recollect herself again.
"If you are, i'd advise to stop haunting me." The fur upon her amazon tears never full grew back and now that they were somewhat close- one could see that it was a long ago scar that never truly healed. That the blood that runs within her are those of her friends, family and those the sisters that died.
"If not, I rather not have pity from anyone. No one is here to save anyone. The world is a far darker place..I rather have nothing than the illusion of the later." With her moving, she opened up a smaller part of a bigger wound, blood began to drip from her leg. With that her leg began to shake under the weight of standing still and stiff but her face never changed otherwise.. The longer she stood the more it shook until her back leg caved, but instead of focusing all her weight upon it. She retracted it in just before that and focused her weight on her other paws. Seemingly flawless, but with that, came more blood.
Her vision began waiver, a slight fuzz but nothing serious. Shaking her head hard to refocus.

Anansi chuckled at the other lioness's words. She couldn't help but to admire her strength an resilience. They were qualities that she respected in a lioness.
Once she was able to get a good look at the other, Anansi was shocked to recognize the tell tale scars that lay trailing beneath each of her eyes. There was no doubt that this lioness had once been apart of her her original homeland. It would be too much of a coincidence for her to have gotten the same scars from a completely different source. Maybe she would ask about it if she got the chance. Anansi had to help this lioness in whatever way that she could.
"I am certainly not a ghost here to haunt you. Pity is for the weak and you clearly are not," she started, Anansi could see that this lioness had seen and survived a lot in her life, " You interest me, and I would like to bri--"
She paused as the lioness seemed to grow worse right before her eyes and knew she needed to say something more appealing.
"Listen, I think we can perhaps benefit each other? You scratch my back I'll scratch yours kinda deal? My name is Anansi, at least let me take you somewhere safe where you can rest. I promise not to try anything," she said with a wink.
