Maxwell Dalton "I know, because that's a real thing." He laughed a little to himself, he knew full well that they both knew that but it was still funny to keep up the facade. He clicked his fingers and the pair of hands ran out of nowhere and began picking up the weapons of the dead, they had joined together to make the best of their situation and while one put the guns in a bag the other carried them. "I should upgrade those into a full robot, but they are so useful as just hands." He was speaking to himself but woud have heard her if she wanted to interject. "Well, what happened to the armour I made? I know you joked about sealing it away and hiding clues all around the galaxy to get in to the room but please. Nobody has that much time." He paused and looked at her. "Right?" It was just a normal engineering suit with more than a little metal welded on and enough compartments for ammo that he wouldnt run out in long drawn out gun battles. "Ah, it was a little outdated, maybe I should make something new. Take one of your power armours and make them better." He grinned. "Of course... for about a minute. Its only because I care that I'd even stop." He winked at her and shot through his cover, killing the bright spark who had tried to sneak up on him. "But I could turn him into plasma and then fire him into someone else, two birds and all that." He sighed when she killed off the remainder of the crew, sadly she had just ebbed out his record and killed more than him. It was his own fault for testing out a weapon and not taking the contest seriously. "Alright, Miss Captain, lets go get you your drink. The men can prepare the ship, change its name too. I'm thinking Astral Speck." A simple trace on the name might give away the game before they could take the cruise liner, it was the simple things that were the easiest to fix.

Akira Steele “Keep them as hands.” Akira agreed. “Might be useful on our next endeavor. Sent them down an airshaft or something. Sneak up on a guard from behind and take him out.” Most secure rooms, like the engine room or the bridge would have measure in place to stop the hands from getting very fair, but they could be pretty handy, pun intended, in other situations around the ship. “Hey, you retired, why would I keep that hunk of junk around? Besides I’ve had all this time while you were away to place my clues. Your first hint is jobs we worked while you were away.” She wondered if he had been following the news about their adventures at all while he was ‘retired’ or if he had tried to ignore is past life completely and pretended it didn’t exist. “You wouldn’t be able to handle my power armour. Probably hurt yourself trying to put it on.” It wasn’t that bad actually, just about anyone could step into power armour, even someone who had never worn it before would probably be fine with only a little training. The biggest thing was that it wouldn’t fit him. Sure you could generic cheap one size fits all stuff, but the good stuff was built to fit. “Sounds rather time consuming though. Besides aren’t you supposed to head back to your wife? Suppose I’ll just have to shoot the plasma for you.” Akira grinned at Dalton and lowered her helmet after the last man fell. “Ah, Astral Speck. She was such a reliable ship, dutifully carrying her cargo safely to it destination. The Parallel will be less without her. Wait, does this mean you are paying for my drink?” She asked as they headed back to the Glow.

Maxwell Dalton He nodded, he couldn't place it but they reminded him of some old earth film he had once seen. "True enough, I doubt there is anything more scary than two disembodied hands landing on your buddies head and proceeding to crush thier skull." He would need to do some modifications to them, but they both knew that. They both needed stealth attachments and the ability to magnetise themselves to walls. He was going to have to decide if they should act independently but he wasn't great when it came to AI and would probably leave that side of things alone. "Lets see, you went to the Pit and then sacked that mining colony on Hyperion, Let me guess you through all of my stuff in the Pit and then went to celebrate but things go out of hand to the point where you ended up totalling an entire spaceport?" The Pit was an artificial black hole created and monitored by the UNE that was surrounded by a sea of trash. "Its my own fault, I should have taken it with me but I thought it might be a little suspicious getting it through customs. Turns out custom is extremely lax if your a standard citizen." He looked at her when she mentioned her power armour. "That's what she said!" He grinned and hoped it was applicable, lord knows it wasn't usually. "Well, I mean there's no point in returning if the blackmailer is still out there, rookie mistake right there. I'll phone her and let her know I have to extend my visit if push comes to shove." He made his way off the small ship and back into the Afterglow. "You get one and if I see sparklers you can forget about it." He laughed to himself, deadly serious about the sparklers part.

Akira Steele “Well now you have to install a camera so we can see the guys face while the hands crush his friends head.” Akira told him. Now that Dalton had said it, it was something she really wanted to see. “I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.” Akira claimed as he outlined one of their adventures after he left. It was more or less true, though the sacking hadn’t been a celebration, but an escape from authorities. Celebratory sacking sounded better though. “Your wife would probably be a little suspicious even if customs wasn’t.” Though that really depended if his wife would even know the difference between weaponized armour and just general scrapper gear with welding torches and the like. “That’s what he said.” She corrected with a grin as they walked back into Glow. She didn’t comment on his plans of dealing with his wife. That was Dalton territory she didn’t want to tread into. “Awe but mooom!” She moaned in fake distress when he said no sparklers. “It’s no fun without sparklers!”

Maxwell Dalton "Well I suppose I could fit a hidden camera in the knuckles." He looked at his own hand and envisioned how he would do it and if he would still have enough room left over for the finger to still work. He would probably need a custom camera and knew he didn't have the optic lenses for that at hand. "I'll have to put that on the back burner." He dropped the issue about the armour, and their escapades as he didn't really want to get into one of their adventures without him without a good reason. She probably wouldn't want a pile of scrap metal in the corner, he had managed to keep his gun because he kept it well out of her way. In a safety deposit box to be precise. Well the gun was worth more than its weight in gold so he hadn't minded the expense. "Are we going to start that?" He asked with a slight grin, ready to take up the challenge if he must but also realising that he had left himself wide open with his response. "Alright." He responded, like a dad that was at his wits end with an annoying child. "One sparkler, but no more than that." They passed through the cargo hold and Dalton stopped briefly to assess the goods they were bringing aboard before rejoining Akira. "So, tell me about this Genesis job, I know it's killing you." He had held off as long as he could but had given in to his curiosity.

Akira Steele “The back burner, where plans go to die.” She answered with the most dramatic tone she could muster. Akira grinned and hit her fist against a door panel. It really wasn’t necessary to hit it, but it made for a better entrance. The slide soundlessly into the wall revealing a small closest containing Dalton’s old suit that he’d been whining about. “Alright so here we are minding our business near the Alpha Centauri when out of nowhere comes this Genesis cargo ship all decked out with the usual logos and particle canons.” Of course, what she meant was they had been stalking the thing and had either let it find them or had been caught. “Well someone had pissed in the captains dehydrated eggs that morning, demanding to know what we were doing in the area, as if he owns space. Being the reasonable person that I am I volunteered to come aboard with a few of our higher ups while they search the ship. It wasn’t like I had anything illegal on board. So here I am sitting with Mr. Stick Up His a**, he was really fascinated with Glow, when all the sudden there is this explosion. It was around then that I noticed Ivemo had been missing for some time. Suddenly the shields were down, the crew inspecting Glow wasn’t answering, and she was shooting up the cargo ship with me inside of all things. Chaos ensued, we lost a few good men, but the payout was insane.” Akira had made sure the dead men’s share went to their families if they had any. If they didn’t it went to the general revenue of the ship. Of course if Dalton was listening carefully he would know the Genesis ship had recognized Afterglow right away and tried to arrest the crew for the bounty instead of doing the smart thing and blowing the ship into space junk. A few crew members carefully hidden within the ship and one sneaky Elesca later the rest was history. The down side of being Captain was everyone always kept their eyes on you. Gone were the days when she could be part of the ambush group. She didn't show him the pieces they had kept though. Dalton was gonna have to suck it up and ask her if he wanted to see.

Maxwell Dalton "Well I mean if you wanted I suppose we could put this whole hijacking thing on halt until I've made the changes." He paused for a second as the door opened and barely even registered any sort of reaction that this was his suit. He stepped closer into the storage space and began to examine the suit while listening to her story. "Before you start." He flicked on the light and sent his hands off to find his case. "Sorry, go on." He leaned against the door frame as he turned to listen to her. A cargo ship explained how they were able to get away with anything without getting ripped a new one by Genisis. Large warships rarely flew alone and if they did it was because they knew nobody would mess with them, it was one of the reasons why they were after a cruise ship. It was owned by the UNE. He listened to the end and then nodded his head back and forth, there were things he would have done differently sure. But the end result would have probably been about the same if not slightly worse. "Well done." He held up his hands, it was rare for him to genuinely praise someone and in this instance he felt it was required. "I have some questions." He was curious about what happened afterwards. "The crew? Did you kill them? I've been thinking of selling those we don't ransom on this job and wanted to know if it was worth it?" He knew what game she was playing about the haul and wondered if he could get her to crack.

Akira Steele “Hey, I'm not the one being blackmailed. Makes no difference to me when we do the whole hijacking thing.” Akira teased Dalton. After all it was his reputation they were trying to save, not hers. Akira was definitely disappointed when Dalton asked about the hostages rather then about when they had manged to steal, but wasn't ready to give up the game just yet. “Of course we killed them. It would be insane to try to ransom Genesis employees. We would have half of Parallel after us.” They still didn't know who had hit them and she was going to keep it that. Ransoming generally involved them finding out who they were dealing with. Sure she liked danger and space battles, but she wasn't crazy.

Maxwell Dalton "I'm sure they'll understand, I had to put my life on hold for upgrades." He nodded his head as if it was normal and then moved on with the conversation. "They don't know!?" He did his best surprised face and really put some effort into selling it. "Yeah, hate to burst you bubble on that one but they know." He nooded his head and then slung the suit over is shoulder and staggered out of the closet, it was a lot heavier then he remembered but that was the price he was paying for neither working out or making any changes to the suit since he used it for it's intended purpose. He looked at her and shook his head. "Of course he knows, he's probably just added you to the bounty list and lost interest." He was referring to the CEO of Genesis, the man was the bane of his early years and he had nothing but respect for him. "Nah, if you want to piss him off you need really get in there and take something invaluable. Selling crewmen that he would probably have killed himself isn't really on his radar." He closed his mouth and looked at her. "I thought it was a good heist though. Lets get you that drink." He was worried that his rant might have knocked the wind out of her sails a little.

Akira Steele “Blackmailers are known for being notoriously patient while waiting for their payouts.” Akira agreed in a knowing tone while nodding. “They so don't know! If Genesis knew about that we wouldn't be here right now with the goodies I took. You would be desperately trying to explain to your wife about how you've been lying to her since you knew her and I'd be in a black hole somewhere. Well you might be in a black hole as well as soon as her father got done with you.” She grinned at that thought as she hinted again that they had gotten something good. Akira watched him struggle with the suit with an amused look, though she didn't offer to help. If he wanted help he would need to suck it up and ask for it. “Are you sure you're going to make it that far trying to carry that thing?”

Maxwell Dalton Dalton shrugged and moved past her agreeing. "Next time we see Mr. Genesis we'll ask him if he knew who busted his cargo ship and how much effort he put into actually stopping those people." He didn't care enough to use the CEO's real name, she knew. "Well either that or plan B, where I call in a favor, get the money wired to me, trace that, then we take all of the evidence to the police and get the guy arrested. I serve a lighter sentence in some minimum security prison on the moon. My wife visits me and is all like, 'Your such a bad a**, I'm so glad you did the right thing in the end.' I think it'd definitely be a movie." He had put some serious though into a plan that he was never going to go ahead with. "Oh and her dad is played by a German shepherd, she loves him but he constantly just growls at my character." He ignored the parts about her being in a black hole in the hopes that it would infuriate her enough to just tell him what she stole. "Yeah, if I hadn't asked you, I'd be staring in a made for TV holo-film. Think about that." He had a pretty good handle on the suit now. "I don't need to go too far, just to the elevator." He said while taking a step forward, and pressing a button on the console that altered the gravity. "Did you think I was going struggle the whole way?" He gave her a grin and made a quick dash to the elevator before the ship corrected itself and normalised gravity in the hallway.

Akira Steele "Oh I'm sure, let me know how that conversation goes.” It sounded like an excellent way to commit suicide to Akira. They were good, but not bust into the CEO of Genesis good. “Oh yes, I am sure that is exactly how it would go down. I've yet to meet a woman who could resist a wanted criminal. Should we get to a peg leg and a eye patch to really sell the whole pirate thing for your film?” The German Shepherd growing at Dalton probably wasn't very far off. She hadn't met the Father-In-Law, but Dalton had a way with people that made it easy to believe. “Damn it Dalton. If anyone or anything got broken it is coming out of your share.” She called after him though she wasn't really angry. Still she took her time walking to the elevator while shaking her head and grinning. Life sure wasn't boring with Dalton around. Several hours later Akira, Dalton and most of the crew were hidden aboard the destroyed ship. After some arguments about her feminine and helpless voice Akira ended up recording a distress message in hopes of further disarming the Captain of the space cruiser. Indeed after contact was made, some mild flirting was done and some death threats if Dalton ever told anyone about it, the cruise liner changed course slightly, the captain all too happy to give them a lift to the nearest planet.

Maxwell Dalton While Akira had been working on the ship, Dalton had taken his time fixing his gear. He knew they would be prepared and honestly didn't want to let the crew down by being shot. He refitted the armour, which took long that he hoped as he had to recast several parts and replace countless others, it wasn't surprising, just tedious. He also re-speced his gun to fire a selection of uncommon rounds as well as small objects. He doubted he was going to run out of ammo but sometimes it was fun to kill a man with his wedding ring or fire off a diamond necklace like an Uzi. Once equipped, suited and packing enough ammo he rejoined Akira on the deck of the destroyed ship, just before it had been set adrift in space. He had not said anything about Akira doing the distress call, he knew better than to try and dissuade her once she had an idea like this in her head. The captain responded immediately with the most flamboyant accent he had ever heard, clearly he had though Akria had been a man. Besides that there was also something truly disturbing about listening to Akira flirt without threatening to rip off their arms but then that probably wouldn't have got them on board. "Are you ready?" The cruise ship had locked on and was bringing them in.
