Bondi was playing near the lake, close enough to everything that he felt safe in letting his guard down. Being a young child, of course he didn't want to get to close to the outside world. For fear some scary big B'alam would carry him away. There were so many different kinds, how was anyone to know what each had in mind. They might try to eat him. Other animals were cannibals. He had watched a spider each another just the other day. It happened. It could happen. They were just bugs, completely different from a mammal, but it could happen! Other creatures were complex.
The cub giggled as he splashed himself, mock charging any fish who came too close to him. Since he wasn't hungry, they were safe. Fish tasted pretty good. He wondered if anyone else had stumbled upon this discovery.
Dipping his muzzle underneath the surface, Bondi made little bubbles to tickle his closed eyelids, causing him to open his mouth was the intention of laughing but only swallowing water instead. He quickly sat down at the fit of coughing that seized him and the unpleasant feeling of water having gone down the wrong way. In between coughs, he heard a familiar voice calling his name and that of his siblings. Breathing in deeply, the cub shook his head and slowly made his way over to the origin of the summons, giving a little cough here and there. By the time he arrived, he was much more composed and managed to sprint the rest of the way towards his mother. She had vats of ink near her. Oh, this would probably be fun!
"I am here!"

Chroma had missed his mate, but when a muse strikes, one has to go after it. So he stayed behind, watching their beautiful, energy filled cubs. He almost regretted not taking the whole family on a trip, but he did not dare get in his mate's way. Thankfully, she had come home a few days ago, albeit to immeidately start making vats of ink. One of his favorite pastimes. Currently, he was taking a nap, resting after making the most recent vat of ink, which had taken quite a bit of stirring. Ears twitched in his sleep as he shifted, stretching. Somewhere, deep in his mind, he could hear something, something tugging at his conciousness. Slowly but surely, he stirred awake, pushing himself up.
The colorful male stretched and yawned, twisting this way and that as he woke himself up fully. He could hear someone calling out outside, and heard the pitter patter of paws across the floor as one of the cubs scampered off. Chuckling to himself, Chroma shook out his pelt, before striding across the floor, pushing the door open with ease. His turquoise eyes spotted the pelts of his cubs, streaming towards their mother, and a hearty laugh left him. "Don't cause too much trouble for your mother!" he shouted, padding down the slope to meet them.

Gliding through the water, not too unlike a fish, Nila chased after the tiny minnows. She was nowhere near hungry, but she enjoyed stretching her legs in the water. It was just as home to her as painting was. Swimming through the chilly shallows, rolling in vats of ink. Both were equally as satisfying to the young cub. She had found her life's passion at such a young age, and nothing would stop her from doing it. She painted every day, getting better and better with each one. Slowly, she had begun to master the shapes of things, how to appropriately proportion everything so it did not look bizzare. Nila's biggest obstacle at this point was background vs foreground, but that would come with time.
Coming up for air, her small paws splashed for a few moments before finding the rocks beneath her again. Gingerly, she pulled herself out of the water and up onto the bank, shaking her pelt free of as much water as she could. It was about this time that she heard her name, and turning towards the sound, she noticed her mother. Bondi was already on his way over to her, sprinting the last few feet. Nila could not see the other two right away, but that did not matter. Hopping up the bank, Nila shook her pelt one last time before bounding over to her mother, rubbing against her long front legs. "Yes, mother?" she asked curiously.
