He'd dragged his gaze away from the stumbling figure that was Tolliver long enough to turn his head and catch sight of the general's fingers starting to dip into Eurydike's chest - and while it would have been much easier for him if she kept going, Celsus lunged forward unsteadily on his feet with a roar of anger.
"Eyes on me, b***h," he snarled, and threw himself at her, the pounding of Eurydike's feet as he ran echoing dimly in his ears and muting with the onset of the rain that had started to come down in sheets. The buildings swayed and creaked dangerously, decrepit and falling apart, and Celsus could hardly see at all, but he had to get to Tolliver, he had -
But Eurydike -
Why can I never do the things I want to do?
On the other side of the park, Tolliver was limping desperately towards a random direction, trying to get out, but all around him was black and rainy and cold, and his hair was sticking wetly to his face, the howling wind and torrential downpour making it difficult to see anything at all.
He wanted to be home.beejoux feel free to abandon rolling and just attack back! still keeping track of hp so I can get him out before he dies though LAUGHS

Eurydike was dimly aware of Celsus' snarl behind him - and later, privately, he might be a little grateful. Whether he ever said it or not was a whole other thing -
That was nothing to worry about now. Not when he was pushing ahead as hard and fast as he could, his cape whipping harshly in the wind and rain, hair sticking to his face and making his stupid, useless fuku cling desperately to his body.
None of that mattered. Not even the residual ache in his chest, the surge of sheer exhaustion held at bay as his lover's thin, limping form drew closer, and closer still, until finally, finally -
"Tolliver, " and somehow he remembered to use his whole name as he threw his arms around the other man, dragging him - willingly or not - tightly and securely into his embrace, grateful that the rain was there so his fiance had no chance of seeing a near-stranger with tears of unbridled relief in his eyes.

Having paused--having already half turned his attention back towards the knight, Xenotime was fully away of the smack of boots against the muddy ground as he charged towards him, coming to the defense of the senshi she'd been intending to yank the starseed from. It meant she was ready for him when he snarled at her. Meant she could turn in a dime, pivoting out of the way and grabbing one outstretched arm so she could use all that unsteady momentum against him. A downward twist, pressure on his shoulder a second before he was flipping him off his feet to bring him down hard in the mud. "Baby, if you want my attention, you're gunna have to work hard to hold onto it." Though he had it now. Dropping to her knee, she brought the point of her elbow down hard into his stomach. The senshi was gone. She could feel him racing away from them. Apparently more keen on saving his own neck, or drawn away by something else.

RESTAURANT - Anxo DeLuna - Civillian CIV HP: 15/15Freedom was so close and tangible that Anxo could taste it, and it tasted of sweet, buttery warm croissants that he got at a bakery near his home. He craved it, he craved his warm bed, his small kitchen and his favorite mug covered in little owls. But he still couldn't just bring himself to leave.
While the others were darting out the back door, he turned on his heel and darted towards the broken glass doors at the front of the restaurant. How fitting it was that the rain began to fall at this time. There was shouting about, and there was still fighting going on in the streets. People were pulling out weapons, dragging off their injured, fighting off the attackers as they could. And there was blood splattered every here and there.
How could the Negaverse actually think that this was a GOOD idea? That this was going to convince other people to join. If they had to be rescued from THEIR group who was going to KILL them if they didn't want to.. This was far too much madness. Was he scared..? No. No it wasn't that. He felt helpless. What was there even to do right now? He was just a civilian. Someone who needed to be protected, someone who couldn't even fathom to compare to these people who were bounding far into the sky during their fights. He couldn't help anyone and that was the painful reality he was facing.
Except maybe he did help with his constant speaking to those who held him captive. If he spoke, that meant there was time for the rescuers to come. He was helpful! He Was!
Those thoughts did nothing to actually convince him that was the case. At this point, it didn't look like anyone else was like him here, they had all ran. And it was his turn to run too. When all of the other powered people had turned away from him, he ran back into the building, out the back door, and back to the main road where he started to head where the wave of civilians were all going. Back home for help, back home to sleep and maybe cry or seek comfort for such a traumatic situation they had been in.
