That was certainly a discovery Derrick wasn't aware of. So, now Vladimir was sharing Alvin's discoveries when Derrick wasn't. He was actually jealous. "I can imagine. According to Warren, you never took your eyes off him while he was in Erendale. I'm guessing because of the other vampires that inhabit the town." A group of tourists seemed like ideal prey, and since Derrick was aware of vampiric behavior, their king spending so much time with one boy in particular made Alvin a bigger target. It only made sense.

Derrick raised an eyebrow. That was rather selfish and ridiculous of him. "As a father, I am incredibly insulted. Protecting him has always been, and always will be, my top priority. I won't pass that responsibility on to anyone. Just like Warren, you have to carry your own torch." Derrick didn't doubt he was serious about having Alvin as his lover. If he wasn't, he would have left already. "I'm already convinced. I simply don't plan on giving my blessing until he's graduated. Nor will I allow you two to be alone."

His eyebrow twitched. "Don't ever bring her into our discussions. You have no reason to bring her up." Derrick stood. "You're welcome to talk with Alfred, but with Warren's supervision. If he loses sight of you two, Alfred will be separated from you." Derrick left the office, taking the artifact with him to find a place for it.

Alfred "Alvin" Mathis
Alvin spent the time Vlad was with his father poking at his breakfast with his fork nervously. "Young master, please, you must eat...." "Sorry. I just...hope Dad isn't being too hard on Vlad." "Honestly, Master Alfred, you've inherited your mother's more worrisome traits. You know you'll get sick if you don't eat properly. Don't make me force feed you." Alvin looked over at the elderly woman, Agatha, that came from the kitchen with a glass of juice for him. He sighed and poked at the food some more. It wasn't like he would die, and it wasn't as serious as his mother's condition. Missing one or two meals wouldn't make him sick. They worried too much. But, he took a bite regardless to not worry them. "...It's cold." "Because you didn't eat it while it was hot. Don't expect us to make you a fresh plate." Alvin stuck his tongue out at the elderly woman, only to have it snatched between her thumb and index. "Still so childish....Have my lessons taught you nothing?" "Gah--! Leahk gaho!" Alvin got his tongue back and he wiped the drool off his chin before noticing Vlad walk in. He beamed at him and listened. Well, at least they could see each other. It was a much better outcome than it could have been. "That's okay! I'm just happy he didn't ban you from seeing me or anything! He was really mad when Warren and I told him about you." Alvin looked over to see Agatha giving him an impatient glare. "I'm eating, I'm eating." The younger maid gave an amused laugh, hiding it behind her hand, before she gave a bow to both men and left the dining room.

Alfred "Alvin" Mathis
Alvin looked away innocently to Vlad's words. Him? Trouble? No, of course not. I know~. Alvin finished his breakfast as Vlad talked about Derrick's terms for his blessing and how he could travel if he wanted. "I want to still travel and visit some of the famous ruins and tombs. Places like Stonehenge and Machu Picchu and Tana Toraja. It'd be amazing~!"

Alfred "Alvin" Mathis
Alvin blinked and smiled a bit, pushing his empty plate away as he stood. "I'm finished. How long do you have? We can go sit by the lake for a little bit. It's just out back." He understood Vlad had to leave soon, but he would be happy to spend even three minutes with him. Once he left, it'd be back to his usual life until he visited again.

Alfred "Alvin" Mathis
He did? That was great! When Vlad held the gift bag out to him and mentioned his dinosaur plush, Alvin blushed. He was...relieved Vlad wasn't laughing at him for having a stuffed animal. Taking the new plush out, he blinked and laughed a little. "It's a tiny Artix! It's so cute! Not so intimidating when you can hold him in one hand, huh?" Alvin stood and walked around the table to Vlad, leaning down and kissing Vlad's cheek. "I'm going to go put this in my room and get my shoes. I'll be back in a few minutes. Thanks." Alvin went upstairs after giving a smile to Vlad, leaving the vampire in the dining room as a maid came in to clean the table. Agatha smiled at Vladimir. "Many of the guests we receive belittle him for being so...unsightly, as they say. If Master Mathis didn't silence them, I'd do so myself. That dinosaur was the last gift he received from Lady Charolette before died; he cherishes it, the poor boy. It's a pleasant change to see someone not judge him. Can I get you anything, Mister Rouminouff?"
