Personality: Emily is a very spunky, lively girl. While her appearance gives the impression of a hardcore-"I don't care about others"-sorta-punk, she is actually incredibly peppy and sweet. She loves the idea of helping others and doesn't hesitate to offer a hand. She can be quite the geek on certain topics. With that being said, she also tends to be very upfront with her hobbies, likes, and--at times--her opinions. Mimi can be hesitant to trust but respect is something she shares with everyone. Once her friend, always her friend; she's very loyal to her friends but that doesn't stop her being critical of everyone. In essence, Emily tends to be the reverse-tough-cookie. She has a squishy and soft exterior but, when at a certain layer inside, she throws up a wall and hides parts of herself that she doesn't want to show.

Student Biography
Emily was born in the US to a Caucasian-American woman and a Native-Korean man. The man, Heung Ki Jeom, had moved to New York to go to a well known university. The woman, Ginger Jeom (nee: Clarkson) had lived in the outskirts of the city her entire life. Three years after they had both graduated from college, the two had long since been dating. Fast forward five more years, they were married and--on the eighteenth of January--Ginger had given birth to their child, Emily.
Two years into Emily's life, the new family had moved out of the small apartment in the outskirts of Brooklyn to a house in Queens. Since Emily could remember, this has been her home. She grew up with a completely average life: school, clubs, friends, some sports, and the works. Come third grade, Emily had "realized"--"Well, I already knew but it wasn't really something I thought much about, you get me? I was pretty young, anyway so it's not like it stewed in my brain for a long time"--that she favored girls over boys. While Emily did have some trouble telling this to a few people like her class-mates, she had very little hesitancy saying that she was gay to her parents. Luckily, her family (except her father's parents, somewhat) was highly accepting of the reveal.
Two years later, her mother had gone swimming in a community pool but had tragically drowned. For this reason, Mimi was completely traumatized by the idea of swimming in fear of dying in a similar way as her mother. She and her father continued to live in Queens as a family of two, the father never-having remarried. At the start of a new year, and with her father's new job opportunity, they moved to New Arcadia, where Emily applied and was admitted to attend school.
