Kyota seemed oblivious to the fact that Kazune was in emotional pain. He leaned back some when Kazune hugged him and stared at the scenery behind him. Kyota didn't hug back, but sort of used his arm to reach out and touch the tree behind Kazune. "I wouldn't know how that feels. He said when released from the embrace. He looked down at the ground and picked some grass, the panther laid down behind him and purred. "So.. Why not come with me for a bit?" Kyota looked up to meet Kazune's eyes.

Kazune looked at the panther and smiled when he heard it purring.
Kazune then looked back at Kyota and thought about the offer." Why not
go with him......Jingo doesn't care about anymore..." Kazune thought
and then nodded." Sure why not we never really spent much time
together when the four of us were in the forest. Kazune said standing
up and brushing himself off that's when it dawned on him about the
panther being in the forest." Hey how did you find this panther?"
Kazune asked looking back at him.

Kyota bit his lip and inhaled deeply, like he was preparing himself to tell a long story. "I was in town a couple nights ago and got bored of watching the people. So I climbed the roofs and scouted the area. I saw a wishing well and went to it. I had only a couple coins and used most of them to make a wish." He paused for a moment and looked back at the panther. "My first wish didn't come true, so I left. The next day I got bored again and followed a strangely dressed man to a cart with a barred cage. Within the cage was this cat." Kyota pointed over his shoulder. "I watched the cat for a couple days and didn't move. Three days I think. Then the odd man returned and told me to stay away, that I'd get hurt if I went any closer. I worked up the nerve to ask him where he was going to take the cat. He told me they were heading to Grand Soren." The panther flicked its tail over Kyota's shoulder and huffed. "I left the fourth day and started to follow a trail of ants which led me to a shop. Some guy with white hair made me model for him. So I did. In the end I got paid for helping him. I thought I might be able to make one more wish and if it would come true then I'd be lucky. So, I went back to the well and dropped a couple coins into the water. I leaned in too far and fell inside. But at the bottom of the well was a rusted axe. I took it up with me and I went back to the cat's cage. I freed him and so.. I guess you could say my wish came true." He shrugged and smiled. His voice had remained emotionless through the whole story, but at the end he smiled. He went silent for a moment and then looked over at Kazune. "I hear stories.. That there are people who can change into animals. I thought that, what if this cat is really a person who was captured? I wished for some way to free him. Because I know that if he is just a cat then he will want to leave me. I had hoped.. If he was actually a person... He might stay." Kyota's voice trembled but he quickly regained his emotionless demeanor.

Kazune listened to the story every now and then he nodded to let Kyota
know he was listening. After the story was over he signed with relief."
That sounds like something he'd do...That means it's actually him and
not someone posing as him....Can never be to careful with everything
that's happened and without Jingo here to protect me I've got to be
careful." Kazune thought then looked the panther." You know even
if the panther not a man cats can be loyal if they choose to be so he
might stay even if it turns out that he is nothing but a panther." Kazune
said looking at him and smiled.
