Fantasizing Dreams

Caesar was dead asleep next to his beautiful girlfriend, arm draped over her side. He snored lightly, faced buried in her dark hair. Dreams of high school danced through his head- that is, until they were so rudely interrupted. The sounds of crying, screaming babies woke him from his deep slumber. Caesar's bright blue eyes slowly opened, and he rolled over. Reaching out, the brunette grabbed his alarm clock. It was three in the morning. Setting the clock back down on his end table, he threw the blanket off his body and stood up. He glanced over his shoulder at the babies' mother, eyes softening, and tucked the blanket tightly around her, kissing her forehead. "I got it," he murmured quietly into her ear, walking out of their bedroom. He weaved drowsily through their small rent-house, yawning.

Caesar walked into the other bedroom in their house, glancing between the two cribs they'd set up in it. Their son, Greyson Tanner, was in a blue and green themed tent. Their daughter, Joanna Mae, was in a pink and yellow themed one. He moved the canopies aside, shushing each baby as he did so. He first lifted Joanna out, bouncing her up in down in his left arm. Once she'd begun to quiet, he lifted Greyson out, holding him in his right arm. Once both of the children had quieted a decent amount, he sat in the rocking chair they'd set up. Joanna had resumed her sleeping, but Greyson started to get fussy again. "C'mon, Greyson... don't wake mommy up, she needs a good night's sleep," Caesar rumbled quietly, trying to bounce the boy a bit. However, it didn't seem to be working, and the child began to cry again. Being as quick as possible, the dark-haired father set his daughter back in her crib and replaced her canopy, walking out of the room and into their living room. "We don't wanna wake Joey up, either," he muttered, pacing the room and bouncing the crying child.

Sleep was something Thalia desired more than anything these past few days. Caring for two kids, trying to find a way to fit in college, and a paying job, it was hard. She had never thought parenting would be easy, especially with two kids, but she never thought it would be so exhausting. Times like this, sprawled on her side, half of her body tucked into Caesar. She was surprised she could drag her body out of bed from this position. Roused from her sleep at the sound of crying a soft sigh left her tired lips. About to move from her comfortable position in Caesar's warm embrace to go comfort her children. She only stilled when she felt him move, fixing the blanket around her then kissing her forehead. She was so grateful to have him around, she really was. Thalia had no idea what she would have done if she ended up pregnant with a guy who wasn't like Caesar. Who wasn't willing to stay with her, or go through the struggle. "Thank you." her tired voice mumbled before curling in the blanket, trying to regain the heat she just lost.

Her peace didn't last to long, the crying from the twins room had only stopped for a moment before one of them started crying once more. The brunette swiftly pulled the blanket off of her body and setting her feet on the cold hard wood. A small shill crawled up her spine at the feeling but she brushed it off, heading in the direction the crying was from. Thalia stopped as she passed by the twins room, her blue eyes quickly zeroing in on Joanna as she lay sleeping. She stayed in the doorway, watching only a moment longer to make sure Joanna wasn't about to wake up once more before she moved towards the living room. Her eyes softened as she watched Caesar move back and forth to sooth Greyson, yet it didn't seem to be working so well. "Give him here, he's probably hungry." she said to him, her voice soft. She had been told by a lot of her mother's friends about how she would soon be able to distinguish between a hungry cry, or upset cry. She had thought they were all psychotic - anyone who willingly spent time with her mother was - she still thought so, but she was ever so slowly starting to spot a difference.
