Old One-Eye was raised in a town where hardly anything exciting ever happened. He was a jittery child, and never meant to hurt anyone, but one day he figured out that he could throw little zaps of lightning. As he grew older, the shocks became more or less worthy of being called a weapon, and he decided to leave town to find someone that could train him in the proper use of Lightning Magic. Since he was destitute, it was difficult for him to find a teacher pro bono, but he wound up with an odd fellow who demanded payment in the form of something near and dear to him. Not understanding, he was surprised when the man taught him magic for several years, completely free. Only when he had felt that he'd learned enough did Ralph earn his nickname; the man pulled out a knife, and stabbed Ralph in the eye. It was shallow enough that it did not pierce his brain, but deep enough that the eye would be forever useless. Now, wearing an eyepatch, he realizes each day what that man meant. His sight may be faulty, but the electricity he's grown to know has become stronger for his sacrifice.
