Service announcement: This is a long post. wink
Good afternoon everyone. I wanted to just pop in and let you all know about the book I have been formulating in my head!
Basically, it started off as an odd dream and I spent the next few days writing out pieces of it along with ideas, possible story directions, details, and characters. It's been formulating in my head for the past week, I'd gander, without me writing more about it. Yes, I know, never stop working when you have inspiration, but life got in the way. Luckily for my writing, yet unluckily for me, I had an incident at work that has led to me filing for workman's comp and my doctor has pulled me out of work for at least the next two weeks. Why is this lucky in a way? I will have a lot of time to dedicate to working on this novel!
Currently, the bits I have written out are located in my gaia journal, but I would love to put them here too. I am a bit afraid to share, but really would like to at the same time. I just ask that no one steals my work. I have had that happen in an old guild and it was heartbreaking.
For the time being, my book is untitled.
Below are my current notes copy and pasted from my gaia journal. I've marked them 1.whatever as a means of note organization. Enjoy and feel free to comment constructively. I will add more as I write.

* never really seems to age...
* first appears 20 years older than 5 year old Vale
* actually a phoenix -- phoenix blooded...?
* kingdom, arranged marriage, cocoa skinned child
* once "mated", age similarly to mate?
* first burn?
OR
* arranged marriage, no powers
* 18 year old Vale marries 38 (describe as almost 40) year old woman
"...intelligence glittered in her eyes..."

Parts of dream...
* enter into a huge suite, considered one of the lower suites for dignitaries
* with parents
* rushing about room exploring
* discovers that in main room to back right is the grand bed
* - on left side, two bathrooms, one that appears opulent but in reality is a "common" bathroom not well divided between bathers, and the other is private down another hall, most commonly used by the maid/caretaker of the visiting dignitary... why dig use common, not sure yet...
"...racing around, taking in all the grandeur, she popped her head into the first door, discovering it to be a bathroom. With a gasp, she sang out excitedly, 'Hellooooo!" only to realize that someone was looking back at her from a poorly divided long bathing room, with the taken station being manned by attendants. Blushing, she shut the door with a shocked blush and continued on..." -- something to that regard.
* down the same little hall, hidden wall type deal, discover a small, private bedroom lacking all the fanciful details and materials. Chooses to stay in this back retreat vs the dig main suite. Parents use the highly decorated / "common" areas instead.
* Vale... "Say something!" "Rawr," she says, her cheeks turning rose with shyness at the boy's sudden interest. Giggling at her, she grabs him and raspberries his tummy. Turning as they collapse on the ground in a fit of laughter, he is now the little spoon (definitely can't call it that, but these are just notes after all...). Both sets of parents smile down at their affectionate, yet childish display and continue the quiet conversation / quiet niceties they were having / exchanging.

NOTES:
* would prefer a small, more 'den-like' / 'nest-like'(?) room vs large suite... asked about by Vale when he becomes older and more concerned with her (this would be her response)
* parents... biological or mother & stepfather?
* siblings on both sides.... leaning towards no
* Vale perhaps has attractions to girls his own age as he ages/grows up leaving her to pout / go away for a while... she doesn't interfere with his "playmates" because she cares for him and his happiness
* knows that he/she are arranged marriage but he doesn't know it is to her, just she knows since she came to court when he was so young... or should he know? TBD
* can't transform into an actual phoenix, but phoenix blooded = being able to "burn"... describe as when the birds burn at old age to be reborn, but actually appear to be very ill then undergo a "transformation" appearing healthy and vital once more
* age difference not noticeable once Vale hits a certain age due to "the burn"...?
* perhaps Vale is "fire bonded" (?) meaning that a child between him and her would gain the genetics to gain actual bird transformation? Vale wouldn't show any outward appearances or signs due to the FB gene being dormant? Perhaps this is why they are arranged to be married because their genetics can create a child that fulfills some sort of prophecy? ... later story, perhaps second book.
* -- Desiree' is child's name, but as phoenix is called Desire?
* Desmond (Dezi? Dezzi? nick) is the main woman's name
* Vale's parents are king and queen where as Desmond's parents are what?
* Desmond is actually a masculine name, but gendered names aren't often acknowledged during this time.... or I just won't mention it and use it anyway because I like it for my female protagonist.
