Vladimir Artemyev Lieutenant of Squad 7 ---------------------------------------- "I can tell that much, Suni. It is almost as though Captain Haruko has his lips frozen shut most of the time, eh?" Vladimir responded in a mumble, only half paying attention. He couldn't exactly tear his gaze away from the fireworks display until Kimber herself spoke, to which his head quickly turned and nodded.
"They are very adept at making colored explosions in the air, Kimber, yes! I'm very proud of them!" Vlad exclaimed before a lime green firework drowned him out.
He was extremely proud of his squad's efforts. The younger members had been working nonstop in the little workshop, like buzzing bees that pollinated cylindrical tubes with gunpowder instead of pollen. Kimber and Vladimir oversaw the operations themselves, helping where they could, though she was far more use than he was. It was still hard for the young Russian to believe that all of those assorted tubes ended up becoming so spectacular...

They lit up the sky with brilliant blues, greens, reds, and golds. The female Captain adjusted her glasses as she waited a few minutes to make sure the display was in order.
Kimber smiled as she turned to her fellow Captain, “Captain Haruko, I’m afraid that I’ve kept my cold-loving Lieutenant in this heat for far too long. We’re going head back to Squad Seven now. However we are probably going to stop at a ramen stand, or something similar, on the way back. I am in the need for something more substantial than snow cones. You and the Lady Suni are more than welcome to join us.” Then Kimber turned to Vladimir, “Did you have anywhere you would like to stop for a bite to eat that isn’t the Squad mess hall?”
Kimber knew Vladimir. If she didn’t make him he would spend all of his time either in the Rukongai looking for his brother or on the Squad Seven grounds. Kimber wasn’t having any off that. He needed to learn that there was more to the world than Squad Seven and Rukongai. Kimber had plans for the boy and, she was going to see them happen. Still Vladimir had a lot to learn before Kimber could get serious.

Suni nodded in agreement to Vlaidimir, but didn't respond as she continued to watch the fireworks calmly. From time to time, she would steal a glance towards Atsuhiko to see what he was doing. His arms were crossed and he was calmly watching the fireworks, his usual frown upon his face. She sighed before watching the last bits of them appear and go, smiling and letting out a now comfortable sigh. "That was incredible." She said happily and looked at her brother to see if he agreed, but he simply kept watching the sky before sighing softly. She pouted lightly at his attitude and rolled her eyes. She had to get him to be more fun and outgoing, not dull and angry. She looked over at Kimber as she spoke, listening to what she had to say.
Atsuhiko was truly about to go straight home if Kimber hadn't said she wanted to go to a ramen shop before leaving and if his sister didn't give him the puppy dog eyes. He would have left them alone, but he knew if he returned to his home without his sister, his Mother would freak, even though she was older than him. He sighed, shrugging lightly. He didn't care either way, but it seemed a little of a hassle to go along. He glanced at Suni quietly, and Suni looked at Kimber. "We'll come along!" She said with an excited look before looking at Atsuhiko. He was being more quieter than usual. More quiet than she had ever seen him. She was becoming worried. But, she tried to ignore it, thinking he'll talk later and soon looked over at Kimber and Vladimir. "Hopefully we won't be a bother if we come along.." She said lightly, hoping that wasn't so.

Vladimir Artemyev Lieutenant of Squad 7 ---------------------------------------- The grand finale of the fireworks was breathtaking, to say the very least. His squad's work in the festival couldn't go unnoticed, and it was so spectacular that even Vladimir himself couldn't help but smile faintly. Smiles were one in a million for the angsty Russian man even amongst his comrades, but there was, at the very least, a definite change in his attitude that came with being around them. If Kimber was the mother of their close-knit squad, Vladimir was like the stern yet kind father, keeping a close eye on them and keeping them out of trouble.
"I would love a piece or two of sourdough bread, Kimber!" Vladimir spoke up quickly, eyes now turned toward the festival down the hill. There had to be a booth down there with freshly baked goods, didn't there? Surely there had to be! No festival of this caliber could be without a bakery! But, as excited as Vlad was, he remained pessimistic. "But...if not, a cold bowl of ramen would do me nicely, Kimber."
Captain Haruko was silent as he was apparently known to be, but Suni did enough talking for the both of them, as far as Vlad was concerned. She accepted Kimber's invitation on behalf of both her and her brother, mentioning that she didn't want to be a pest. The Russian simply shrugged; it mattered little to him if she accompanied them or not. As long as they did not attempt to make extended conversation with him or interrupt him as he ate and attempted to leave the sweltering fairgrounds, they would not be much in the way of a pest at all. Rather than telling the rest of the group to follow him, Vlad simply started down the hill slowly, so as not to get too far ahead of the captains and the civilian. Kimber wouldn't let him hear the end of it if he abandoned them, but standing around wasn't something Vlad would tolerate when the prospect of fresh bread was out there amongst the crowds.

It seemed that he and Captain Haruko were more similar than they realized. Kimber trailed after Vladimir. That felt odd; usually it was him trailing after her. That was why Squad Seven had nicknamed him her shadow.
Kimber joked, “It seems that my shadow is getting ahead of me!” She started down the hill, “Yes Vladimir we can go to a bakery instead. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled.” Kimber turned back to the Harukos, “It appears that we are heading to a bakery instead of a ramen shop. My invitation still stands but, you are free to change your minds.”
Kimber reentered the festival and readjusted her glasses over her yellow gold eyes as she peered about for a bakery. Finally she spotted one. She moved towards it; it’s delicious scent. She reached into her pocket only to discover her wallet was missing; Vladimir must have snagged it at some point.
Kimber turned to call out to the rest of her party, “I found one! Over here! And yes Vladimir; they have sour dough.”
Kimber was more interested in the cinnamon rolls that had just come from the oven. The thing looked gooey and, was sure to get her hands sticky. However Kimber thought it looked positively yummy. It may not have been healthy but, it was more filling than snow cones.
Kimber waited to place the order until everybody else got here. She didn’t know what the Harukos wanted.

Suni smiled, seeing they didn't mind them coming along and followed after Kimber, Atsuhiko following close behind. He seemed to look indifferent and grumpy as he used to, but with a more solemn look. Suni noticed, but didn't comment. He was prone to looking that way sometimes, she was used to seeing it.
As they followed after Kimber, they listened to Kimber state that instead of Ramen, they were going to a bakery instead. Suni smiled widely. "That sounds tasty, right Nii-san?" She said enthusiastically, looking back at Atsuhiko. He rolled his eyes, giving an almost annoyed expression. "I guess so..." He stated. They continued to follow Kimber, soon stopping when she stated she found a bakery with a large variety of different pastries and baked goods. Suni's mouth watered at the sight and she looked back at Atsuhiko to ask what he wanted, but looked around to see he wasn't there. She urgently looked around for him, like an older sister would, and saw him pass through some people before going down a path that no one seemed to go down.
She sighed, shaking her head and soon returned her gaze to Kimber. "I guess I'll have to order for him." She said with a smile, nodding gently to her before looing at the different things available. There was so much that Atsuhiko would like, having a larger sweet tooth than she had. She rummaged through her Kimono before finding a pocket and pulling something out. It was a rather fancy looking pouch, or purse. She shook it to figure out how much she had, and once she knew she had enough by opening it and checking inside, she gave a thumbs up to Kimber. "I'm ready to order!" She said, smiling. Most of the things she would be getting would mostly be for Atsuhiko. He would be grateful, she knew it.

Vladimir Artemyev Lieutenant of Squad 7 ---------------------------------------- Kimber called after Vladimir, making a joke about how far ahead he had gotten. He would have gone back for her, but she wasn't exactly far from him in the first place. Kimber never was. The young Russian was simply too impatient to stand and wait for them to make up their minds. He was the first of their group to delve back into the throngs of people in search of a bakery. Despite the massive amounts of people walking around, Vlad managed to keep an eye on Kimber, and the second she found a bakery he was there.
The rest of his group was taking there time in deciding on their order, but Vlad wasn't about to miss out on the fresh loaves they were pulling out.
"Three loaves of sourdough bread and butter. Er...please." Vlad barked, whipping out Kimber's wallet and pulling out several yen notes to cover his and Kimber's meal before slapping them onto the stand. "I am sorry I pilfered your wallet Kimber, but I decided that I did not trust the people in the crowd. The safest place for your valuables was with me."
Vlad bowed his head respectfully before returning his captain's wallet, the stepping out of the way to allow everyone else to place their orders. While it was not immediately evident, if one was paying enough attention to Vlad, they would notice that his foot was tapping rather quickly, a rare sign of being excited over something. Freshly baked bread was thing only food Vlad enjoyed that was remotely warm, and if it took too long it simply wasn't delicious. Letting fresh bread go uneaten frustrated the man beyond belief.

She looked him straight in the eye and. smiled warmly. She tried to convey a sense of peace and pride; pride because he remembered to say please and, peace because it looked like his excitement was getting the best of him.
Kimber kept her voice light, “Vladimir, relax. It’s not going anywhere.” Kimber turned back to the baker, “I would like one of those cinnamon rolls.”
The baker tipped his head, b]“Coming right up Ma’am. Would you like you change?”
Kimber shook her head as she accepted her order, “No thank you.” Kimber handed Vladimir his bread before biting in to her cinnamon roll. She closed her yellow eyes and moaned in sheer delight, “This is yummy!” Kimber turned to the Harukos, “What about yours? How does yours taste?”
The only thing that could make this better was a pot of tea. However Kimber did not want to pull the best tea maker in the Soul Society away from his treat just so she could have a cup of tea. So Kimber fell back to the social convention of small talk. She took another bite of what had become her dinner. Kimber thought she might order another.

Suni was alone. Atsuhiko had wondered off without them and she was left to order for him. She sighed gently, watching the treats curiously and soon ordered two sweet bread sticks and then six filled doughnuts and six chocolate covered pastries. She smiled, happy with her and Atsuhiko's choice and once she had gotten the things set, she paid the appropriate amount before looking over at Kimber and Vladimir. She blinked as Kimber asked her how's hers taste and she smiled. Atsuhiko wasn't here, so she had to go and give him his when she goes looking for him.
"I haven't even tasted mines yet!" She said with a broad smile and picked out one of her sweet bread sticks. She took a bite of it and waited for the flavor to melt in her mouth before speaking. "Mmm! Really good~!" She said, eating at her bread stick happily. The flavor helped to wash away the sadness she felt and replace it with joy. Atsuhiko was missing out~

Vladimir Artemyev Lieutenant of Squad 7 ---------------------------------------- Kimber reminded him that he needed to relax, to which he frowned up slightly. Being her shadow meant that he had to be a bit overzealous when it came to her protection. Though perhaps she was right; an attack on a festival of this size would be rather difficult. He feared letting his guard down, but seeing Suni and Kimber with their sweet treats as he was being passed his own wasn't much of a threatening situation at all. He resigned himself to being off duty, if only for a moment. He had some sourdough to eat.
The first bite of the fresh baked yeast melted in his mouth, giving him a fireworks show of the senses. Each taste was a savory, sour delight that he couldn't get enough of. Kimber asked him what he thought of his food, and quickly Vlad nodded, clutching the bread tighter.
"It is delicious!" He nearly shouted with a mouthful of bread. "Thank you so much Kimber!"

Also we should try and find Captain Haruko. I would hate for him to miss out.”
Kimber moved back into the fair. The crowds were thinning out as people started to return home. Kimber looked over her right shoulder to appraise her Lieutenant. She needed to get her cold-loving son out of this heat and soon. However she needed to say farewell to Captain Haruko and Suni first.
Speaking of Captain Haruko, Kimber began scanning the crowd for him. How had they managed to lose the Kenpachi. It occurred to Kimber that he didn’t want to be found. Kimber scowled at that thought. Every maternal instinct in her body screamed at her to find him. Kimber didn’t think anything was wrong, yet. Kimber absently finished her cinnamon roll.
Kimber turned to ask Suni, “Where do you think your brother could have disappeared to? It was quite sudden and has me slightly worry. I do hope he is okay.”
Then there was a scream, ”HOLLOWS!”
Kimber turned to see that there was indeed a swarm of Hollows attacking the fair. The wax paper that had held the cinnamon roll was discarded on the ground as Kimber used her left hand to draw out her Zanpakutō.
Kimber gave a command, “Grant me access to Nature’s Forge, Tenkinobuki!” Kimber turned to Vladimir, “First move is yours Lieutenant!”
That was the way Squad Seven did battle. Kimber used every battle as a chance to see how Vladimir’s skills had improved. However there were too many Hollows for Kimber to expect that she wouldn’t have to battle.
The good news was that this attack would flush out Captain Haruko.

Suni had nodded at Kimber. That would seem like the smart thing to do. Looking for her brother should be a priority. She couldn't leave without him. She nibbled on her bread and blinked as Kimber asked her where he could have gone. She shook her head. "No.. idea?" She slowly turned her attention to running people screaming Hollows.
That wasn't good. Suni quickly took shelter in the Bakery Stand as Kimber gave Commands to her Lieutenant. She had to stay hidden or else she would be attacked. She whined and ate her bread quickly, keeping Atsuhiko's baked treats safe and close to her. She hoped he was alright.
----
Atsuhiko had walked off to a darkened area of the fesitval near a lake with a bridge and some hanging trees. He sighed and looked around. It was peaceful here. He wondered what he was supposed to do now. He didn't want to be around them for too long, but he also didn't want to leave his sister alone. She might get in trouble if she leaves alone. He sighed and crossed his arms as he looked up at the dark sky. At least it was peaceful here.
But soon, the peace was disturbed.
A large and tough looking Hollow stomped it's way over to Atsuhiko. It snarled at him, causing Atsuhiko to turn around. His eyes sharpened at the creature. "You're a Captain, ain't cha?!" It roared at him. Atsuhiko sighed. "What do you want...?" He said in annoyance. The Hollow snorted and growled. "I'm taken you out!" It roared and Atsuhiko nonchalantly turned his back to it. "Where? I'm not really into types like you..." The Hollow growled in annoyance and swung it's fist at Atsuhiko. "Oh shut up Shinigami-!" Atsuhiko quickly unsheathed his Zanpakuto and clashed with the Hollow's fist. Dust and debris picked up and Atsuhiko's grin widened. "Shut your's first!" He said, soon adding pressure to his blade. Once he did, the Hollow flew back, flying into the general area of where Kimber, Vladimir and Suni were. Atsuhiko followed the trail of destroyed stands, a wide grin on his face.
"Finally.. some fun.."
