Name: Daniel Verano
Race: Possessed - Enchanted Human
Age: Twenty Six
Gender: Male
Height and Weight: 6'0", roughly 240 pounds

Class: Rogue
Profession: Thief/Mercenary
Weapon: Bow, Knives
Armor: Leather armor, with cloth overlay to muffle sounds.
Racial Talents:
Ghost: Daniel possessed the body of a well renowned Thief, but since the body itself is in control of a ghost, it can bend to it's ethereal properties. Daniel's host can become ethereal for 15 seconds, moving through walls and opponents alike but remaining visible as an apparition; upon return to a physical state, Daniel must be wary of where he is returning. His body doesn't want to end up in a wall, but he can position his blades to return in nasty spots for his enemies. While in this form he is vulnerable to elemental attacks, and after going ethereal he must wait a minute before shifting again. The longer he waits the more potent his next shift is.
Spirit: Daniel can see things a little differently. Gods, spirits, ghosts, magical energy, he's incredibly sensitive to it all since he belongs on the other side; his right eye is subject to that and constantly displays that he doesn't belong in this world. He can see these mystical disturbances, as well as feel them nearby; but the most effective part of his eye is that he can see souls as well. For a thief working to case a joint, it's always helpful to know how many souls are in a building before he breaks in; especially since he can keep track of their movements through walls. Should a demon without a soul be near.. Well, Daniel better hope it doesn't hear him coming.
The Host: The Thief Daniel has possessed has managed to up his game a little. Throughout the Human's travels, he must have met with some kind of witch or practicion of black magic because his wounds never seem to stay open for long. It's not miraculous or fast by any means, but Daniel has come to realize that all the cuts he sustains will heal in the next hour; any serious limb removal.. He just hopes that a mixture of turning it back into it's ethereal form can let him re-attach at some point.

Abilities:
Soul Pierce: Daniel used to be proficient with the bow, and now, he's added something special to his quiver. While he can potentially due this for any weapon (A blade of energy, or simply having his hands take on the effect), he finds better synergy with his arrows. By channeling what remains of his spiritual energy, Daniel can let loose a soul-shaking arrow that ignores both armor and walls to pierce a soul. It doesn't kill it, and can't do any permanent (or any physical damage, unless they fall and bop their head or something) damage, but for weak souls it will leave them dazed or unconscious; for the stronger folk, it'll leave them a little disoriented.
Apparition: Ghost's love to play their tricks on the unsuspecting. Daniel can cast simple illusions to disorient his enemies, such as creating sounds out of no where, or making things appear in vision that aren't truly there. Illusions, most call them; but they seem so real when a spirit starts toying with them.
Seeing, no feeling, Double: Rather this is a more potent form of Apparition, or a whole other trick entirely few opponents have the time to figure it out. Daniel goes ethereal for a moment; but as he returns, there are two of him but the copy is visibly glowing with the same blue hue the original's right eye is. The copy can move, feel, and act just as any other being could; and can be disrupted through physical attacks, but takes increased damage from elemental or magic attacks. Strikes done upon the double hurt Daniel, and the shared pain can be seen evidently when it's hit by a magical assault. Aside from those weaknesses, the double is meant to serve as a helping hand; assisting with overwhelming numbers and otherwise impossible tasks that can't be done solo.

Class Skill:
Lithe: As a Rogue in his past life and with the body of a renowned Thief, Daniel is accustomed to moving about quickly and quietly. He makes every muscle and movement count, but isn't incredibly bulky or strong; he relies on stealth and speed, as well as a bit of trickery to achieve his goals.
Precision: As a great marksman with the bow, Daniel shares this trait with throwing knives as well; his accuracy is adept at striking at just the right spot. When in close quarters, he aims for nerves and muscles that would leave his opponent weak or disoriented; something to inhibit their ability to retaliate if possible.
React: Daniel's nerves are incredibly sensitive. While his spirit makes him sensitive to life of all sorts, his years as a rogue and a thief lead him to be sensitive to the smallest things. Sounds, movements, the smallest shift in his vision, he's ready to react and move on a moment's notice and does so with the utmost efficiency. This helps him move around and react in fights while most of his otherworldly abilities can't be used.

Theme Song: I just wanna run - THE DOWNTOWN FICTION

Personality: Daniel has grown a bit humorous ever since his return to the living. He likes to poke fun at others and make light of otherwise serious situations, those around him can see him laying back and lounging around while on the job; making jests as he goes along just to gauge others reactions. His whole view point on life is weird now that he's already died, but his lightheartedness disappears once he starts to get into the thick of things. When being chased, or in combat, or simply in a serious situation where it takes everything he has to retrieve an object through stealth or get to their goal he grows eerily silent. This is when his eye glows the most, and his body starts to take on the demeanor of a practiced killer and thief other than a talkative mercenary/rogue.

History:
Daniel was never that much of a standup individual, but among the worst he was one of the best. You hear? His parents were born poor, and their parents before them, on and on the Verano family was subject to poverty throughout the kingdoms and forced to survive through whatever means they could manage. For Daniel and his father, that meant stealing. There were plenty of ways to earn some coin through unsavory means, in their little slice of hell becoming a thug, mercenary, prostitute, or thief was a rather beneficial position. To supplement their unsavory income, his father also taught him how to hunt; if their family could bring in some of their own meat, it was all the better. This left Daniel with twice the reason to practice with stealthy tools such as the bow and throwing knives. In the end however, tradition always had a part to play, his father raised him to become a thief like Verano's past stressing the "Do anything to survive" rule and the unofficial guide to Honor among Thieves.
It was nothing special really, but for the thieves that they grew up with and around; they were almost like extended family. They stole because they had to, not necessarily because they wanted to so as long as the family of thieves kept their work efficient they kept it safe. Only what they needed, and never leaving anyone hurt unless it was absolutely necessary. They wanted to attract as little attention as possible, and should that attention be made they promised each other to look after one another. Each thief had the others back, and as Daniel's father started to slow down and let his son take over caring for the family, Daniel moved on with the other thieves of the neighborhood. Moving out to the richer areas of the city and those nearby to bring back an efficient scoop of loot, all was going well until the little band of thieves stumbled upon an even larger group.

Daniel was in his twenties at this point, long past his childhood years and rather good at what he did. He led his merry band of thieves, and had managed to go through their whole career without killing an innocent; still, they had managed to steal quite a large amount of profit.. They weren't all good. But the group they managed to come across? Now that was different. While entering a new city, nearly three days ride out from his home town the little band of thieves stumbled into a more organized threat's territory. The leader? A renowned thief that even their small town had heard rumors of, this thief had been said to have lived for a hundred years, but Daniel had normally cast that off as just part of a larger rumor. As his group entered their territory though, he began to doubt himself. They were easily surrounded, with jeers and jokes being cast from all corners as other thieves laughed at the youths that were coming into their city. It was their leader that silenced them, laughing through it and welcoming them all with a rather crooked smile. Daniel did what he could to smile back, shaking the man's hand and walking with him. For being such a renowned thief said to live for so many years.. He looked young. 25, 26 maybe; this couldn't be him, right? This man welcomed Daniel and his crew openly, had his own band of thieves feed them and house them for a night all while explaining the perfect opportunity for a grand theft. Nobility. That was all he had to say and Daniel's eyes grew wide, actual royalty was stopping in to this city; their caravan adorned with treasures and gifts meant for the governor of this city as a way of making peace. The leader of the thieves had been planning to steal them for a while now, but he said that he needed more hands; and the youths would blend in a lot better than his aging band of thieves, many who had started to become recognized by many of the guards there.
As this master thief started to explain his plan, Daniel listened well; soon losing all worries as his dreams took precedence. His group stayed with them for days, learning, preparing, and on the day of the nobles arrival they put their plan into action. They waited until the caravan had made it inside the main keep's walls, and the nobles had just started to go inside to make their first move; their goal was to take the gifts as everyone was settling in, while servants were still handling moving everything to and fro. It was a simple enough plan to disguise the young band of thieves as servants, it took some work getting inside; something the elder band had no trouble with, and Daniel didn't question how they were let through the gates so easily. He chocked it up to the renowned Thief's ability, and thought nothing more of it; deciding to focus on the task at hand. It took nearly three hours, piece by piece, little by little, working to sneak gifts out to a drop off point where the elder thieves could take it without being seen. It was all going smoothly, and they were nearly done when the alarm went off.
With no warning, guards started storming through doors and down the halls; converging on the drop off point like hound dogs, how the hell did they know they were there? Why were they so quick? Daniel didn't have the time to think about it, he issued the call to run and his band started running. Roughly fifteen twenty something year old's dressed in servants garb sprinting for their very lives, the slowest of the bunch nearly getting caught, forcing Daniel to pull out the few throwing knives he had manged to sneak in to "slow down" the approaching guards about to seize his men. He didn't want to leave them behind, they were family, but that still didn't explain his next actions.
A servant girl, who had been caught up in all the mess had managed to come far to near their group and the following guards. She was cowering in fear, and as Daniel's men started to dash through the gate they had managed to keep open; she was about to be slaughtered in the confusion. Daniel bit his lip, throwing what was left of his knives to slow down the closest guards all the while making a mad dash for the cowering servant girl; without a word pulling her to her feet and getting her to run as fast as he could. He moved quickly, tugging her along as he went; he was lucky to make it past the gate, as he started to reach some of the back alleys he was nearly caught. Guards were not six feet behind him and gaining quickly, he would have been done in there and then if it weren't for his allies; from the rooftops and alleyways knives and smoke bombs filled the air, disorienting and slowing the large mass of guards that now filled such a tight space; leaving room for Daniel to get the hell out of there, servant girl in tow. That chase lasted an hour, but eventually, they had managed to escape by the grace of lady luck herself.

Daniel said his farewell to the servant girl when he had caught his breath, she had thanked him enough by then and ran off just as quickly as he had let go of her hand; looking back for a moment before disappearing without a trace. When the group finally managed to get back to where they had been resting for the past few days, there was only one soul left to greet them. The other band's leader, who sat on a crate looking rather distressed. Daniel approached warily, asking him if he knew what had happened; and where everyone else was. The leader assured him that the others were fine, they were never in danger and had managed to get all of the treasure and gifts out safely; it was only the guards that had been bothering him. Daniel smiled at that, telling him that all of his men were fine, but that did nothing to change the other thief's demeanor. He simply looked up to Daniel and shook his head, and not a moment sooner did the thieve's hideout begin to flood with more guards than Daniel could count. How...? The thought had barely crossed Daniel's mind before he noticed the crooked smile flash on the other thieve's face, and a quick thud making the world turn black. Daniel and his group were surrounded, and soon escorted away.

Daniel would never know of this, but this had been planned long ago. The other thief and his band had been making to much trouble in that city, and the guards needed someone to blame; someone to punish to appease the wealthy nobles that were growing restless by these countless crimes. The elder thief wasn't ready to give up on his own crew, but as this new band came walking in.. He had made the perfect plan. His crew had made off with all the profit, and by working with the captain of the guard, they had managed to capture "all" the thieves responsible for the city's countless thefts. The elder thief had pulled off the perfect con, and within the next day Daniel and his group of thieves were sentenced to hang. It all happened so quickly. One gallows. One noose. One by one Daniel watched his fellow thieves, his family, his friends, walked to the noose before their body dropped; gasping for air before finally finding nothing but sweet release. One, two, three, all of them dead until it was finally his turn. This band, they had no honor among thieves, they had sentenced Daniel and his group to die, and it was all Daniel could do to keep his composure as they walked him to the noose. His eyes surveyed the crowd, his keen sight picking out other thieves easily; some were even snickering at the sight of his group being hanged. Atop a rooftop sat their leader, his cowl covering his face but his eyes glistened with interest; with what looked like complete and utter satisfaction. Daniel met his gaze, his own cold blue eyes gazing at that man's dark brown iris's. He said nothing, and soon Daniel looked away and back to the faceless crowd. Well. All but one. As Daniel stepped up to the noose, taking a deep breath he looked out into the crowd; and his eyes caught on one girl in particular, the servant girl.. She was wearing a gown of the darkest black, and seemed to be muttering something under her breath and fidgeting with something in her hand. He couldn't see the latter, there were bodies in the way, and he couldn't quite read the lips.. His head was pushed into the noose, and his eyes watched on as her speech grew faster; before he could make out a single word however, the step was kicked and he dropped. Seconds went by, and Daniel just couldn't breathe; he was losing sight, the world was growing black and he felt death approaching quickly.. But that was when everything changed. That was when, he saw his own corpse.

Daniel stood there, or rather, floated nearby, watching as the guards moved to remove his corpse from the noose; the marks on his neck looked painful, and he idly reached to his throat to feel if they were there.. But they weren't. As they dumped his body onto the pile with his comrades, Daniel could only stare as they were marched off; led somewhere to be burned, buried, he truly hadn't a clue. He just hoped they weren't fed to something. Slowly but surely, the crowd that had amassed to watch the hanging began to disperse; all but one who stood perfectly still. The servant girl, who looked up at where Daniel remained as if she could truly see him. No one else could, but as Daniel glanced her way she muttered a single word; and he was immediately before her. "You," she started, "Listen well. I'm giving you a second chance." She went on, going on to explain that by some means, she had prevented his soul from moving on for the sole purpose of getting his revenge. He had saved her life, and now, she was giving him the chance to avenge his own, and his family's. There was only one way that Daniel wanted to do this, and that was to take everything that the elder thief had, every, last, thing; the girl seemed pleased with that answer, and soon they devised a plan to do just that. This is when they contacted the Guild of Echoes.

[Quest: To catch a Thief] - The servant girl prepared the vial, and the compass to track Daniel; together, they setup their plan for revenge.

••••••Allison, the witch

Guildmates: 2-3
Mission Duration: To completion.
Intensity: ✯✯✯✯
Description: Allison tasks you with locating and subduing a great thief in Sol Sadoth. This thief is renowned throughout the four kingdoms for being incredibly slippery, tactical, and tricky; he's responsible for the theft of hundreds of gold coins and the deaths of many innocents in his path towards profit. Allison wants revenge for a friend that lost his life due to his plans, but she doesn't want him killed. Along with the quest, she has provided two things; a vial filled with a mysterious liquid and a compass, one that seems to sway to and fro. It doesn't point north, and it will supposedly track the great thief wherever he goes. She has given a great advantage to finding the otherwise elusive thief, but that doesn't make this any easier. The thief himself is proficient in archery and throwing knives, but the real issue and danger comes from the countless city guards and band of thieves that follow him; all willing to fight for this thief. Your goal is to hunt him down, and make him consume the vial of liquid after being subdued. Allison says that the job will be finished at that point, but if they can bring his body back with them if need be that'd be preferred.
Setting: Sol Sadoth, over rooftops and back alleys that thieves and rogues call home. This will a hunt throughout the city, prepare well and be wary of guards and thieves at every corner.
