Unfortunately, the grumpy rabbit was long gone by the time Fjorgyn and Tomiko burst into the main wing of the nursery. Upon the sight of rows and rows of small sprites still sleeping in their beds, Fjorgyn was suddenly conscious of how loud her footsteps had been and looked sheepishly at Tomiko. How rude of her to rush off like that! Tomiko must think of her to be at best a clumsy, galumphing fool.
"I am sorry," she whispered extra quietly. Again, Fjorgyn was tempted to leave it at that, but with Tomiko... she felt like she owed her friend more words than she wanted to give. If there was one thing she'd learned from that night in the woods, it was to never take for granted the company you kept. "Next time I see Ostara, I will try to talk to him," she added, and chanced a timid smile. She looked back at the door to her own room, wondering if they should go back, stay here, or go elsewhere.

Tomiko had only caught up to the giantess when she stopped in the main wing of the nursery. It appeared that they had lost the little bunny friend. Although their steps in the hall had been loud, especially Fjorgyn's, none of the other sprites seemed to wake up because of them. It would have made her frown that they weren't such light sleepers, what if there was danger? But, she didn't want to wake anyone because she had wanted to pet a bunny. Slowly, she reached up to grab Fjorgyn's hand. "It's okay. I guess a cat would scare a bunny a lot. I can understand his running. I wonder where he went....do you know other parts of the nursery? I've never been down the hall where your room is, are there other halls like that?" She asked her friend, looking up at her with a happy smile in response to Fjorgyn's timid one.

"I have been outside the Nursery, back when I first awakened," replied Fjorgyn cautiously. She remembered her adventure with Erm with a certain measure of fondness, but she was unsure whether to encourage a repeat scenario -- the thought of Nanny's admonishments upon catching the two out of bed still made her cower. With some hesitation, she continued: "I saw only a small part of the vast world that extends outside of these rooms. There would be many places for a rabbit to hide."
As she spoke, Fjorgyn could not help but let her gaze stray toward the door she and Erm had gone through to leave the Nursery. It seemed to beckon to her, with the promise of adventure.

"Outside the nursery..." Tomiko said as she tried to think of what it would be like. A large smile grew on her face as her imagination went wild. Trees!! And the full open sun! And grass to lay in and birds to watch! A little oasis was forming in her mind and she desperately wanted to get outside the nursery. Which was when she noticed Fjorgyn's gaze drift towards a certain door. "Is that they way out?" She asked. Taking a few steps forward, she tugged on the giantess' arm. "Lets go!" Tomi whispered with excitement.

Fjorgyn felt a smile twitching at the corner of her mouth, despite herself. Tomiko's enthusiasm was somewhat contagious. ."Yes, that door leads to the rest of the castle," she said.
She stumbled a little as the cat sprite pulled her toward the door, unable to shake her reluctance to be breaking the rules again so soon. There really seemed to be no excuse she could make that would justify disappointing the adorable Tomiko, however. Perhaps the door would be locked. The giantess tried the knob and sighed; no such luck. The door swung open with ease.
Fjorgyn looked behind her at the peacefully sleeping nursery of sprites, then at Tomiko beside her. "Let's go?" she echoed.

Things didn't seem to be all that they appeared. The large giant girl stumbled when Tomiko pulled her forward and the look she spared behind them after the large door swung open with a soft woosh seemed to show her reluctance. Tomiko's eyes grew larger after the door swung wide open as she stared into the hallway beyond. As much as her enthusiasm was contagious to Fjorgyn, Fjorgyn's reluctance was almost palatable for Tomiko and it wasn't long before she too started feeling a little weary about what they were about to do. Her right ear twitched and shortly after, her left, listening for anything further down the hall, but to her dismay, she heard nothing. But as her moment of hesitation grew longer, her doubts grew bigger as well. "Well...ma-maybe we should just stay in the nursery..." She didn't want to seem like a, well, scardy-cat, but what if they got caught? "What happened to you the last time you left the nursery? Is...is it safe?" She asked timidly. Her little nose twitched as she tried using all her sense to see if there was danger ahead or not.

Fjorgyn peered out the door, looking from side to side. "It's safe," she said distractedly. "But we musn't get caught.". The coast was clear, and her chin went up in determination. "Quick!" She darted out from behind the nursery doors, eyes peeled at all times for the sign of Ostara... or overbearing nursemaids.

Although Fjorgyn didn't answer all her questions, she did say the way was safe and that they only couldn't get caught. Tomiko's excitement overcame her worry of what would happen to them if they got caught. And before the little sprite knew it, Fjorgyn was darting out from the nursery! Tomiko took off just as quick once she realized her giantess friend had left. Her little legs worked to keep up with her but paused in her tracks once her nose caught a wiff of something. "Fjorgyn!" Tomi called out softly, "I-I think I smell something coming from that hallway!" Could it be Ostara? It smelled similar, but the hallway was kinda scary looking! There wasn't nearly as many lights as there was in the hallway they were currently in.

A smell? From there? Fjorgyn sniffed the air, but smelled nothing but general castle smell. "What do you smell?" Fjorgyn said, equally softly. The dimness didn't daunt her, especially considering that hopefully Tomiko's eyes were as good as her nose, but Fjorgyn still hesitated to get unduly lost.
"Ostara?" Fjorgyn stage-whispered, not really expecting an answer. The rabbit was a fickle creature and belonged to no one but himself. Fjorgyn took a step toward the hallway that Tomiko had indicated, then stopped. She turned to the little cat sprite. "How good is your sense of direction?" she asked. She searched her pockets for something that could be used as markers for where they'd been, but found nothing.

Tomiko's neck stretched as she put her nose in the air as most animals would and took a few deep breaths. Her nostrils flared as she did so and she took a moment to reply to Fjorgyn. "I..I think I smell Ostara. But there are lots of smells down there. Not...sprite smells I don't think, but I don't know what they are." She cocked her head now as she turned upward to look at Fjorgyn. Her sense of direction? Tomi frowned a bit, she could always find her way to her bunk, and around the nursery so she thought it was good? "I think I have a good sense of direction...but..." She paused, wondering how they could find their way back instead. Then, remembering the disdain of some of the sprites that cleaned the nursery when she ran around to much. "I know what we can do!" She said as she started kicking the floor with the heel of her boots causing there to be a dark scuff spot on the floor where she had kicked. "Do you think that will be good?" Tomi said with a smile again. Sorry it took so long!! D:
