"I would love to come by." Pasha admitted, lashes lowering against her cheeks. It was kind of Wasa to invite her...she knew the woman wasn't one to surround herself with company. "May I...invite a few friends? No one rowdy, I promise!"

She glanced up to judge the Artist's face, a bit self conscious at having asked. "And I can help with the cooking and dishes?"

Melisande realized suddenly she was being more than a little selfish, prattling on about invitations when Wasa was potentially securing the soul of her new ward. "Oh! Any nibbles?"

"I don't see why not. I mean, Christmas is a time for friends, right?" A Christmas party would be just as fun she assured herself. That's what a nice large house was for, after all. "I'll see if I can find some recipe books in the kitchen, make up some nice things. And there would be room enough for plenty, if they wanted to stay. Lots of rooms."

She gave the rod a testing tug, the line going slack then slowly tightening again. "No, don't think so... but here." She reached into her bag and pulled out the corner of a scone she had been nibbling on. She rolled some of the crumbly treat between her fingers to loosen up some morsels. "If you want to see some fishes." She sprinkled a few out over the edge of the peir. "Maybe one might take notice."

Pasha set down her tea and reached her hands forward eagerly. She peered down into her cupped hands as Wasa sprinkled the crumbs, and suddenly, she felt like a Frei again. She remembered her days in the garden with the Artist...the way they marveled at the curly ques of the snap peas, and the way fireflies would rise and fade. For a moment, she remembered Aki as well, and Melisande sprinkled some of the crumbs somberly into the water.

"Thank you." She said, voice quiet. The Muse watched the fishes rise and mouth at the water's surface, not seeing her own reflection in the fractured surface. "Don't worry, you'll be together soon."

Pasha glanced up, sidelong, to the Artist. "You and the Frei. Don't...ignore it, okay? Listen to it?"

The question might have seen out of place to many, but to the absent minded artist it struck a sharp chime. She was not the best listener. With so many threads of thought running through her mind it was very hard to put a finger on them and silence the hum. It was even worse when every other word from the speaker's mouth put out another strand, so when the Sigel gave her advice she stamped down on every thought in once tense moment of mental silence.

"I will, Melisande." She nodded to accent her words, then turned to look at the muse for greater measure. "I promise."

Pasha met Wasa's eyes, and flashed a sudden smile at the woman's response. She nodded in return, and dropped the rest of the crumbs. Hungry little mouthes dented the surface, and she brushed her hands briskly together.

"It's going to be a wonderful Christmas. Oh, will you made that thing? That you used to make? With the nuts, and the flaky crust, and the powdered sugar?" Pasha brightened visibly, and nibbled the last crumb from her own finger.

"The bastilla?" Wasa looked a bit sheepish, snuggling down in to her shoulder blanket. "Oh, I never stopped making that at Christmas." She spared a hand from her rod at held it out for Pasha's to give it a squeeze. "But this year I'll have someone to share it with."

Melisande's smile dimpled, and she 'scooted' closer to the artist...giving her hand a squeeze in return. "I can't wait! Thanks again, Wasa." The sounds of the pier, when they were quiet, were soothing. The knocking noises of distant boats at rest and the constant lap of the water were soothing, and she didn't release Wasa's hand.

"I miss her." The Sigel said quietly, eyes focused on a bridge in the distance. "I'm glad we have this." There wasn't much else to say.
