Any and all happy phonies were extra welcome at Sunny's place. She beamed at the fillies, trying to usher them inside. "I like clouds too! Not as much as sunshine, of course, but they're my third-favorite weathery thing, after sun and rainbows! And just before snow. But I still like snow, y'know."
She could have gone on about the weather, or the specials, or why Cloud Nine was fantastic, but it looked like something serious was going on. "Oh, my. Well, what is it?" It took a lot of effort to put on her serious face, which she hoped was somewhere between stern and understanding. Whatever the problem was, it couldn't be so bad that they couldn't fix it.
"It's my fault!" Buster blurted out. "I broke the window!"
That had taken a huge effort, but she couldn't let Sal say everything. Not when it was really her fault. "We were playing ball and Sal threw it but I'm the one that hit it at the window- by accident, really- and I'm sorry! Really sorry!"
Even though this grown-up seemed nice enough, Buster couldn't help but shrink behind Sal again once she was finished with her confession. What if, now that she'd 'fessed up, the grown-up got mad? Or tried to shake her down for money? Or started sobbing? Dozens of possibilities floated through her mind, each one worse than the last.

Surprised by the filly's sudden confession, Sal watched her for a moment before frowning. Even if Buster was the one that hit the ball, it's not like she was completely to blame. "Well...though that may be true, it's kinda my fault seein' as I got'er all riled up with a little insult that I said. I meant no harm by it, I was just tryin' to encourage her but eh, it worked far more better then i'd imagined..."
Now that the truth was out in the open, there was still a matter of attempting to make things right with the mare no matter what happened. "I promise i'll do anythin' to make it up! I c'n always work or somethin'...try and pay up fer whatever bits I may have lost 'cause of it! I c'n try 'n do somethin'!" She hoped that the offer was taken seriously, but then again, who'd ever trust someone that broke their property? If the adult was really that sore, she could even rat them out to the phony police! Yet, no matter what amount of bad of terrible possibilities flowed through Sal's mind, there was always that hint of faith that kept her from cowering in front of the mare. Well, save for the feeling of and impending leg wobble that was probably going to happen soon whether she liked it at all...and her head was head low but that was more out of condolences if anything. "I'm really, reaaaallllyyyy sorry as well, miss."

Sunny listened carefully, without saying anything, or even moving. Once it was clear that the fillies were finished, she nodded. "I see." That may have sounded somewhat ominous. In reality, she was just trying to think of a way to tell them that she wasn't at all mad, without spoiling the courage it must have taken them to come and talk to her.
In the end, she did what she usually did, and plowed right into it. "I'm glad you told me! I was wondering if I had angry neighbors or something. Don't worry too much about it, though. Windows break all the time! They're practically made to break. I've already had to replace this one, since I slipped on some milk and accidentally threw my egg beater at it. Boy, that was a mess!"
She paused, confused for a moment. What had she been talking about? Oh, right. "Anyway, it's okay. Why don't you two come on in and have some cocoa and tell me about what happened? It sounds like a great story!"
At the total lack of any repercussions, Buster practically had to pick her jaw up off of the ground. It was, she supposed, possible for a phony to not mind getting their window broken too badly. But this one seemed to be happy about it! Or at least able to treat it like a fact of life, and not like something bad.
She didn't know how to react. Should she offer to clean up, at least? But she hated cleaning, and the grown-up didn't seem to want her near the glass. She had no money to offer, and no idea how to fix a window. "Uh... aye, we could tell ye the tale. I guess." She shot Sal a confused look. Was this how lubbers usually reacted? Were they just supposed to go in and drink cocoa like nothing had happened?

It took a moment for Sal herself to register what happened as well, blinking a couple of times in shock. "...Huh?" Her confusion that had been verbally uttered soon melted into relief, a show of happiness evident on her expression. She knew there was nothing to worry about here, and the fact that the mare wasn't even shaken by the fact and was thankful well, like said earlier, bonus points!
Glancing over at the other filly who seemed to be completely confused, the yellow phony gave a little chuckle before a shrug. It made sense that there was confusion, considering they'd both worried the worst. But hey, it was more a lucky break than anything! Salvo was pretty sure herself that not all restaurant owners were as lenient about broken windows.
"Sure we can tell the story! Dibs on the marshmallows!" She yelled, already bounding off towards the direction of the kitchen.DivineSaturn ((Wanna call it a wrap now?))

At least she wasn't alone in being totally lost. Buster took a small amount of comfort in that, which was enough to let her start easing into the situation. It was possible that this wasn't some sort of trick or a ruse. Somehow, she had managed to smash the window of one of the few phonies in all of Phonyland who apparently didn't care. Couldn't she be thankful for that?
It took an effort, but she managed to grin. And then, when Sal claimed the marshmallows, she bounded forwards, using her wings to propel her. "Not so fast, matey! That's my loot too!"
"Now that's more like it," Sunny said cheerily, ushering them in. She would have to warn the others about the window- after all, Cloud Nine wasn't her place alone, nor would she want it to be- but that was a small price to pay for smiles like these! "I'll put some milk to boil, and you two can just get nice and cozy and tell me all about it!"
