Now that she had some supplies to start her journey, Mila decided to enjoy a trip to the local park to take in the sights. Perching herself on a nearby bench, the girl fished her camera out of her bag and began snapping shots of her surroundings, including the famous sweetstone that she had kindly been given a few samples of. The sugary treat had perked her right up, eliminating any previous fatigue from the long trip she'd taken from Kalos. Twig and Taxi were also big fans of the candy, and were now playing together in grass as their trainer changed gears and traded her camera for a sketchbook.

She enjoyed taking photos, but there was something immensely satisfying to Mila about sketching pictures by hand instead. Like she was living through the scenes instead of just preserving them. After some deliberation, Mila decided to sketch a nearby tree where she could see a Hoothoot sleeping peacefully in its little hollow. It was rare for a Pokémon to be still enough for her to sketch, so the new trainer was very excited.

She was so focused on her drawing that she didn't even notice a wild Swablu as it drifted down to nibble on what was left of her candy. It wasn't until the friendly bird type floated up to land on her head that Mila finally realized that she had company. She tried to gently shoo the little bird away, but the Pokémon simply nipped her hand away with its beak before curling itself up like some kind of fluffy crown. Resigned to her fate, Mila returned to her drawing and finally finished her sketch just as Taxi and Twig returned to her side after having their fill of play time.

"I kinda made a new friend." She told them when the two stared at the little cloud on her head. As if sensing that it was being talked about, the Swablu unfurled its wings as it chirped out a greeting to the other Pokémon. Mila tried gently shoo it off her head again, but the flying type wasn't having any of it and batted her hands away with its wings.

"Fine. Have it your way." She grumbled while standing up from the bench. "But if you're gonna be my hat, then I'm expecting you to shade me from the sun."

Chirping out an affirmative response, the Swablu curled itself up again but with its fluffy wings more spread out this time. It may have been stubborn, but at least it would keep its word. Continuing her stroll, Mila eventually found herself talking to a local park ranger who offered her some cash in exchange for her help in tidying things up. As a recently homeless/jobless individual, Mila gratefully accepted.

Her team chipped in to help pick up trash, including Mila's new Swablu who was especially enthusiastic about cleaning things up. Once he was satisfied with her work, the park ranger paid the girl and the Pokémon were returned to their balls while Mila decided to wander around town some more while there was still light left to burn.

"Maybe I should look for some more work..."
