Barley were her eyes open. A solid blue and a light grey. Staring out at the open world before her. Coahulia, or Coah for short, was sitting at the mouth of her family's den. The snow was almost all gone, instead replaced with lush green and popping daisies. Looking over her shoulder, Coah grinned as she saw her mother and siblings were asleep. Plus with dad not paying attention, who would miss her for a few minutes?
Being the adventurous pup she was, the young female scampered out of the cave and went to explore the newly revived world. She pawed and nipped at flowers, chased butterflies, and took off like a hunter after a grasshopper. "Best day ever" Coah yipped, giggling and romping further and further from home. Just excited about seeing so much even though she was still very young. Acting as if she was seeing the whole world right under her paws.

Flit was newly awoken, still groggy and sluggish. The sun rose early in him, though was unsupervised to see his sleeping companion, the tired mother she was. A litter of girls would do that to you, he thought with a roll of his eyes. He'd been preoccupied by watching the snoring trio to realize their fourth ball of fur had sneakily left their den.
A flurry of panic struck his chest like lightening. Immediately he was out, sniffing her trail. It didn't take long to discover the little black pup in the sea of green, but be restrained, watching with a rueful smile. She was quite adorable, wasn't she? He didn't know how to take this whole dad thing, yet, but if it had someone as cute as this one, how bad could it be?
Sneaking, Flit edged closer and closer to Coah, silent as a mouse. He crouched, inched behind her, and just stared, waiting for her to turn around and realize.

Coah had found a mouse in the field, young and as curious as herself. She engrossed herself with sniffing the tiny creature all over, the same going for the young mouse. They knew not they were to one day be predator and prey, or rather snack, thus examined the other with curious stares. Then all of a sudden another mouse came along, its mother Coah assumed, screamed at her, then took the baby away.
"Ahhh, we were just playing!" She called after them, pouting as the mother and baby went out of her line of vision. Stupid mothers and their over bearing ways. Not that she didn't love her mama, but she was more of a daddy's girl. He understood her more it always seemed, being abit more bold and outing then her sisters.
But soon enough her attention was drawn once again to something else. A white butterfly fluttering past her. Giggling, she stood up and turned around as if about to chase yet another creature when a larger one caught her. Coah stood absolutely still, knowing she had been caught red handed. "H-Hi papa. She tried to play innocent, giving him a wag of her tail and a big loopy pup smile.

Coah wagged her tail a tad faster as she heard her father's voice, glad to see he wasn't too mad. Unlike mama, her father wasn't as smothering and seemed like the type to want to travel. The pup gave a whine and bent her head, trying to escape her father's musings.
"Its so BOORING in there Papa, I wanted to get out and look around." She defended her self, sitting onto her rump as so she could smooth down her fur. With no such luck as it just fluffed up again. Shruging, the female pup bounded back up and attacked her father's leg. Clawing and pawing at him, obvious for his attention.
"Papa, papa! Take me to see more, please? I'll go back quietly if I get to see more!" She yipped, pushing with her front paws on his front leg. Different colored eyes pleading up into her father's normal blue. Coah wasn't so self conscious about her eyes around her family, unless one of her meanie head sisters said something, thus used them to her full advantage. She was no dummy, this pup knew how to use what she had.

"Oh? Well in that case I'm the safest papa out there." He smiled proudly, reaching out and pawing her her head more, muffing up her short fuzzy pup fur. After a moments of light growling and gnawing on each other, Flit sobered his attitude. "Don't be so hard on your mother, little one." Flit used a serious tone, eyeing her purposefully. "She loves you more than life itself. As do I." Grinning again, to soften his words, he liked her cheek.
"I do ask though..." Flit felt almost bad not discussing this with Lochen first. "Would you return to the desert with me? If you were able? It is not an easy life to chose, my little one." Flit knew all to well the harsh lands, little game, few shelters, and even more scarce water. "Its nothing like the land here."

Coah giggled and fell to the ground as her papa mushed with her. She battered and nipped, trying to put up a good fight. Coming down from her high, the pup whined slightly and lowered her head to the ground. She knew mama loved her but...she wanted adventure. She wanted excitement! Not some stable little life here on the mountains.
"I love you both too." Coah spoke softly, wagging her tail, disturbing the new grass. The pup sat back on her rump, head tilted as her father asked her a question. Go to the desert? Chase down jack rabbits, defend against rattle snakes, many even fight a mountain lion?! She grinned and jumped up, puffing out her chest again.
"Of course I would papa, you need more then yourself to start a pack after all." The multi colored pup laughed, seeming quite proud of herself for her decision.
