I have a few suggestions mostly concern the placement of the sub-forums. I got the ideas from look at an old Hogwarts forum roleplay (now closed). I never got to roleplay there, but I think it was healthy since they only went out because of nasty infighting.

Each of the Corridors (all 7) had their own threads along with the 3 levels of Dungeons, each of their 1st post carrying what main rooms could be found on that Corridor. So the 1st Corridor would have it's own thread or whatever it's called and it's say on the top has such and such rooms on it (eg The Great Hall, etc). More than that however it'd also have the Common rooms in that thread. One it put everything together and makes it easier to find, but even with the rooms having their own section it didn't make it feel connected to the school. However actual classes will remain separate.
->> Instead of a Diagon Alley sub-forum. It should be a World Beyond. So that you have a place for events and such to happen like Quidditch matches or guild plots to happen. Might be a good place to have a news thread or something. It'd again keep everything together and might make it easier to get things done.
My last suggestion comes purely from my experience. It's an outside instant chat site. You can pick anyone you want, there are plenty that are free. I suggest it since it's a great place for people who don't have enough time to post maybe, but want to keep in contact. Also it's a nice way for everyone to go and chat about ideas for character plots or just plots in general.
