Sayoko had found herself awake earlier than normal and instead of waking Akira, she just figured it best to leave her sleeping. She managed to sneak out without a problem. It was once she was away from the grumbling bear that she encountered a problem. She was starting to feel it sinking in, the feeling of how alone she truly was and that only led to more negative thoughts. Her heart was starting to weigh down with negative feelings and her mind overtaken with horrible thoughts. This was the ultimate low for her, as thoughts of her past came back to her about how selfish and naïve she used to be, was it payback for then?

The saddened mare forced herself to walk forward and out into an opening that held flowers and a source of water if you walked just a little more. It was a patch of colorful flowers, a variety really, nothing to special but they were something special to her. The patch gave her a chance to get all sorts of different smells into her nose to sort of clear her head and make her feel just a little better. Although today the patch of flowers didn’t seem to be working their magic for her. Was the darkness that overtook her mind and heart really that bad? Sayoko found herself looking around as if the patch of flowers could somehow produce a cure of some sort.

Not knowing what else to do and not really feeling like returning back to Akira, she found herself moving on past the flowers and towards the stream. It was rather easy to get to since her side of the stream was nothing but ground, trees and rock but the other side of the stream was a little more grown over. It was the side with more trees and lots more weeds and rocks. She wasn’t all that thirsty so she just stood there and stared into the clear water. The rocks almost shined as she looked at them on the bottom of the stream but if she looked hard enough, she could see her own reflection and she wasn’t too happy with what it was she was seeing.

Her smile was gone, her sparkle and spark for life that she once had was even gone. There was no shine to her eyes anymore either, everything that she considered amazing and beautiful about herself, everything that someone else should love was gone from her. The light was sucked from her life, she gasped at the realization that darkness had set into her so deeply. Her eyes were glued to her reflection; waiting, hoping that some form of light would return if she just stared hard enough.

Lyric Amachi had decided, again, that he wanted an adventure.

He wasn't quite sure what this meant as of yet. He had only just discovered the fact that he was now able to leave home without worrying if his mother would panic if he didn't return home for supper. The world was vast, and he was eager to explore it, but one thing set him back. One thing reminded him that he just wasn't ready to do such a thing. He lusted for adventure, and he longed to run off and explore the deserts and jungles, but he couldn't. Not yet. Why?

He didn't want to do it alone.

Now, Lyric was a perfectly independent soul. Quiet, clever, and smart, he didn't need other soquili. He just wanted it. He wanted someone to take care of, and someone to take care of him were something bad to happen. He wanted someone to speak to at night. He wanted a traveling partner, and what was so wrong with that? It wasn't that he was lonely, he simply wanted to share the wonders of the world with another. He didn't quite know how to describe it, but the male wanted a friend.

Blue eyes viewed the patch of flowers cautiously as he stepped out. His bells jangled sweetly, the ones by his head the loudest. He could hear water, and he longed for it. He hadn't taken a break in awhile, and perhaps a drinking break was both needed and wise. And so, he walked towards the sound of running water. The woman he saw startled him, and he had to bit his tongue to not yelp in surprise. He didn't want to go scaring her. Currently, he needed water, then maybe he'd strike conversation. So, without much of a word, the male slipped near her and lowered his head for a much needed drink.

She had been so absorbed in trying to find herself again, she had not heard anyone approach her or get close to her. His reflection beside her own surprised her, yet she found herself looking at his reflection in awe. His blue eyes seemed to shine against the water, dazzling and full of life. She pulled herself away from the water’s edge and looked him over. He was unique in color and markings as she was almost, his hair and eyes seemed to stand out the most to her. In fact, as she thought back to how his eyes seemed to shine, it made her heart ache. At one point, she had thought her green eyes had shine to them but now they just seemed so dull and lifeless.

Her eyes caught sight of the bells adorning his hair and neck; she wondered what they could possibly be for. His bells weren’t like the normal small bells that she saw on other Soquili. “Oh I’m sorry I’m Sayoko.” She was actually apologizing for staring because she had forgotten that she was only supposed to do a quick glance over of him. He was just so colorful and unique like her, she had found herself staring at him. Her mind had wondered off in curiosity about his bells and where he could have possibly come from, she had never seen him around here. “I love your blue eyes.” She couldn’t help herself, she had to come clean and let him know that she loved them. They were just so full of life and they drew her attention above all else.

He hadn't noticed her staring. Call him oblivious, but he was much more interested in collecting some hydration. His tail jangled as it flicked, stirring the bells at the base into a frenzy of chimes. His concentration on the beverage was broken when a voice interrupted his thoughts. Mm? An apology? His head rose, an eyebrow raising in question.

"Sorry? For what?" His voice was smooth and calming, though it did hold curiosity. He offered a reassuring smile, tilting his head to the side. "Ah. Nice to meet you, Sayoko. My name is Lyric Amachi." He tilted his head back down to take another sip when, suddenly, his eyes were complimented. His tail flicked as his head raised in a startled snap. His eyes? A small, crooked smile touched his face as he chuckled playfully, smile widening.

"Well, thank you. I quite like yours."

The ringing of chimes brought her attention to his tail and she noticed bells that were tied to his tail. As his head rose up, she snapped her head back towards his and smiled awkwardly at him. “I can’t help but admire your beauty.” She thought it best to be awkward and honest than to try and make up some stupid lie to spare them the strange truth. As she watched him get more water to drink, her mind trailed off the think about the sound his bells made. They almost sounded like they made music all of their own. She was a little mesmerized by the sounds that his bells made when he moved. “Lyric Amachi is a very fitting name for you.” She found herself smiling easily at his name and how it fitted him so perfectly. She had just met him but there was something almost rhythmic about him.

Although everything that was pure and uplifting about their moment, it stopped when he complimented her eyes. “How could you? They are dull and lifeless compared to yours..” As the words left her, she found herself looking down at the ground. She was no longer able to look at him; she didn’t want him to look at her broken eyes. They were not worthy of being looked upon, she wanted conversation but didn’t like when it turned to her.

He smirked as she made a remark on his name, head dipping down as a quite thank you. He caught her viewing his bells, flicking them once more just for her amusement. He hadn't been complimented like this before, and he wasn't sure if it was awkward or he liked it.

"Am I? Thank you." He quietly dipped his head again, freezing when he noticed her response to the comment of her eyes. He stepped closer, slightly, and lowered his head to view her eyes. His smile was sincere, if a bit worried, and he cleared his throat as he attempted to fix what he had mistakenly done.

"Well, to me I see a light in them." He admitted, and he did. A small, dull one, but it flickered as if it was fighting to be let out. He smiled quietly, head tilting to the other side as he shrugged. "It's small, but it's fighting to get out. Maybe you don't notice it, but it's there, and I like it." Ah, he was sounding sappy, wasn't he? He quickly tossed his head to the side, slightly embarrassed, and pawed at the ground briefly before slowly glancing over to view her wings. A slight smirk touched his mouth as he viewed Sayoko once more, nodding towards her wings.

"You're quite lucky. Your wings are beautiful. One of my sisters has wings, but they're far more delicate and I'm not sure they can support her."

Sayoko had only nodded when he had thanked her for the words that she had said to him. As he stepped closer to her though she found herself holding her breath in anticipation of what it was he was going to do. The breath she had been hold was let out in a rush of shock when he cleared his throat and spoke such honest words to her. Could it really be possible that someone else could see a light in her eyes? She raised her head to look at him again; some sense of hope was starting to fill her again.
Whoever this Lyric Amachi was, she was starting to have a good sense about him and herself. Within just a few moments, he had lifted her out of such a deep darkness by just promising that there was some sense of light still there trying to reach out. “I wish to thank you for such kind words, I’ve been filled with such darkness for a while but I feel filled with such a new hope.” She found herself smiling though it was a small one, it was still a smile and it was genuine.
Though he spoke of her wings, it made her think not only of herself and flying but of his family and what they might be like. “I don’t think I really fly all too often, I like to travel on the ground as strange as it sounds.” She laughed at herself because she had wings that could support her though she chose not to really use them.

His head shook at the thank you, rejecting it only because he did not need it. He had simply told the truth, nothing more. "I was speaking the truth. No need to thank me."

He viewed her wings carefully, twitching briefly. One of his sisters, Claves, was a jealous little mare. She longed for wings deeply, and Lyric only hoped that she never heard the words coming from this woman's mouth. While harmless, the words might hit Claves hard. Shaking his head with a smirk, he decided to just cast aside such thoughts for the moment.

"It's perfectly fine, I'd probably do the same. I like the feeling of the ground. Now, if I could have aquatic features that's an entirely different story." He never longed for the skies as Claves did, or feel jealous over Timpani's wings. No, what he wanted (sometimes) was the water. Yet, again, something he decided to store away for later as he turned his attention towards the lovely Sayoko.

"Am I bothering you, perhaps? I came for water, but I could leave now that I've had my fill."

She chose not to speak for a moment but instead to let his words just sink in; she wanted to think seriously about them. “The truth can be such an amazing thing.” It seemed almost cliché as she spoke, the words she was speaking was even a form of truth. Her mind only continued to wander and think but it wasn’t of herself. The thoughts that were racing through her mind were thoughts of him with aquatic features, his sister and how she must look with delicate wings, and in the end only did she think of herself. She considered the possibility of if she should take more consideration of her wings, she took them for granted and never really used them.

“I don’t believe I am afraid of the sky, I just like the ground view, but perhaps the sky view would be even more amazing.” She grinned at him; the potential excitement of something undiscovered being adventured upon made her heart beat a little faster. “Can you imagine being able to see things from underwater or from the sky? A different view of the same things you get to see all the time.” She looked back at the water and then up at the sky.
She chose not to answer him about his question as to whether he was bothering her. Sayoko had hoped that it was evident he was not a bother to her because she continued to talk to him. There was no major idea in her head as to what it was she wanted to talk about though she just enjoyed talking to him. Somehow he put her to ease just being around him, she wasn’t sure just what it was about him yet but she wanted to find out more.
