________________________________________________________ Character Name - Masaru Kazan
Aliases - The Volcano of the Mist
Gender - Male
Age - Thirteen
Affiliation - Kirigakure
Rank - Genin
Personality - Masaru has a case of dissociative identity disorder. Most of the time, he is a very quite and dormant person. He could even be considered to be a bit timid in some ways, keeping to himself rather than being outspoken. His other personality functions the exact opposite way, being very loud and hot headed. This side of him is most often shown while he is training or in battle, and many people consider this to be an influence of Son Goku, since he has animalistic tendencies and will often get carried away, willing to put the lives of himself and others at risk.
Kekkei Genkai - Lava Release (Yōton)
Chakra Nature - Fire and Earth
List of Weapons - Naginata Occasionally uses the Hiramekarei and Nuibari
Character History - Masaru was born to the Kazan Clan, who originated the Lava Release. As such, their lava techniques are stronger than all of the others who have used the techniques over the years. When he was three years old, he was captured by several ninja from Iwagakure, who saw him as the perfect vessel for Son Goku, since their lava techniques would make each other stronger. Iwagakure's original plan was to seal the bijuu inside of the boy and then allow him to return to his village and destroy it entirely. This would have worked, had it not been for the Mizukage. Having foreseen this turn of events, the Mizukage went to Iwagakure alone and rescued Masaru. It was their that she managed to stabilize the seal on Masaru.
Over the course of the next few years, Masaru showed very little talent in ninjutsu while he was in the academy. He preferred techniques revolving around his father's naginata, which he often practiced with. When Masaru was eight years old, his father was arrested for treason against the Mizukage, and the naginata was left to Masaru. This naginata was special, and allowed the flow of fire and earth chakra simultaneously to create a blade of molten lava.
Masaru graduated from the academy towards the middle of his class, having very little skill in genjutsu and even some relative trouble in ninjutsu. He had never really been one for ranged combat, and so he focused more on the style of combat that was practiced by his clan. Masaru does not have a very strong bond with Son Goku, as the monkey finds him to be a very weak individual who is unworthy of his power. Despite this, it has stayed relatively calm within him and has never once tried to tempt him with the devastating lava techniques in its arsenal. Both of his parents are part of the Seven Ninja Swordsman of the Mist, and as such, Masaru has access to the Nuibari and Hiramekarei.

Masaru's Ninja Handbook
• Yōton: Yōyū dangan - Masaru makes his hand in the shape of a handgun, and then fires off a small ball of lava at an insane speed, which has nearly the same impact as an actual bullet and can melt anything it touches on impact, even flesh. This is Masaru's self created technique and tends to be his signature move in battle, though it is currently still imperfect. • Yōton: Yōgan Bunshin no Jutsu - Similar to the Water Clone technique, Masaru creates a clone out of lava, which can burn anything it touches. • Yōton: Yōgan yōyō - Masaru forms a string of chakra and connects it to a ball of lava, then proceeds to swing it around like a chain, which burns anything it comes into contact with other than Masaru. • Yōton: Tanki-sha - Masaru spits out a steady stream of molten lava from his mouth. He is usually seen using this technique outside of battle, spitting out random balls of lava whenever he sees fit. • Bunshin no Jutsu • Henge no Jutsu
Jinchuriki Techniques
• Katon: Monkī-en - Masaru kneads his chakra into flames within his stomach, and then fires it off as a concentrated beam of green fire. He currently cannot use this without the influence of Son Gokū. • Bijūdama - The Tailed Beast Ball is the ultimate technique of a tailed beast. To form the attack, they gather both positive black chakra, and negative white chakra, shape it into a sphere, and then compress it inside their mouth. The black and white chakra needs to be balanced at an 8:2 ratio respectively or it will backfire. The ball can be fired differently, either in sphere form, which can be detonated for a wave explosion or launched to form a dome-shaped blast which flattens and erases everything around it, or as a concentrated beam of energy which gives it explosive penetrative power. A Tailed Beast Ball is incredibly dense. When used in close proximity to other tailed beasts performing the technique, the Tailed Beast Balls can be combined, vastly increasing the attack's destructive power and size. The power of the attack is relative to the power of the user. • Kakazan - While influenced by Son Gokū, the user creates an enormous torrent of lava that violently erupts from the ground, before rushing upwards towards the target. • Yōton no Yoroi - The user envelops their entire body in a coating of lava that enhances the damage of their physical attacks. Due to the extreme heat generated by the lava, the user is capable of burning the target without coming into direct contact with them. In addition to the offensive damage the armor can inflict, it can also be used for defensive purposes, as it acts as a deterrent towards those who wish to attack the user physically. Masaru is currently working on trying to use this technique without the influence of Son Gokū. • Yōton: Shakugaryūgan no Jutsu - The user expels a large amount of lava from their mouth, which quickly solidifies into multiple boulders of molten rock that are fired towards the target with tremendous force. Due to their composition, the boulders can melt through most objects with ease, and because a considerable number are dispersed over a wide range in quick succession, they are also difficult to avoid.
Currently unusable techniques
• Yōton: Yōkai no Jutsu - Masaru releases a large amount of lava from his mouth, which spreads into a broad, thin sheet as it travels through the air. Since it is shot upwards in an arc so as to descend onto the targets from above, it prevents the intended individuals from jumping up to avoid the attack. A great deal of smoke is created afterwards by the effects of the lava, so should the targets still be alive, a follow-up attack can be conducted while their vision remains obscured. • Yōton: Sekkaigyō no Jutsu - This technique makes use of the Lava Release kekkei genkai where the user expels a large quantity of quicklime from her mouth, capable of inflicting damage to an opponent. This ability can also be manipulated in order to restrict the intended target's movements, as after the initial blast the remnants of the substance can act in a similar manner to quick-drying cement. However, the technique requires the addition of water to set off the necessary reaction to make the substance harden. This can be easily achieved through the use of a Water Release, which can also serve to increase the area covered by the substance, thus further increasing the potential range of the technique. This makes it ideal for a shinobi of Kirigakure, as most of Masaru's classmates have water release techniques. • Yōton: Gomuheki - The user creates an enormous torrent of lava from the ground directly in front of them, which then forms into a wall possessing immense durability due to its rubbery consistency that allows the material to deform when attacked, meaning it can both absorb and dissipate the force behind a blow rather than just simply obstruct it. This technique can also be used to provide reinforcement to a pre-existing barrier. • Yōton: Gomudama - The user expels a large glob of lava from their mouth, which quickly solidifies into a hollow ball that can be used to protect an object by surrounding it with the durable rubber-like material. The properties of this substance mean that it can both absorb and dissipate the force behind a blow when struck, resulting in it either deforming or bouncing upon impact.
