A New Beginning

Hello to anyone who still looks at this guild! As all of you know, it is well and truly dead. However, a lot of people still miss this old place, and the fun we used to have here. If you are one of those people, this message is for you.

I am currently working on development of a new guild. A successor, or sequel of sorts, to L&L. Systems that were never quite finished here will be complete and operational in that guild, along with many new systems to make the experience even deeper and more realistic and enjoyable. This isn't going to happen right away though. I've been planning it for a few years now, ever since this guild died off, and only recently have been able to dedicate time to it.

But, as many ideas as I have, one man can't do it all. And that is why I am here. If you want a new L&L, and want to be a part of building it, post here. I won't be accepting everyone who posts. Right now I need people who can work, and work well. I want to build the best guild possible, so I need the best workers, and best ideas, possible. If you are a good worker, and want to be part of this project, post here. In your post you should give a short, but detailed summary of your skills, what areas you'd be best at. Links to any previous projects or systems you've worked on will also enhance your chances a great deal.

For those who don't want to build the guild, but do want to be a part of it when it's opened to the public, simply post here saying so. I'll send invites to everyone who posts in this thread when the guild is ready.

And if you have any suggestions for things that could be included, but either don't want to do the work, or have been declined, post those here as well. We want the best and most enjoyable experience possible. Your ideas can help make that reality.

And for anyone who is worried over copyright and all that fun stuff, Mistah gave me permission to make this new guild years ago, and while he has not been active on Gaia recently, he is a member of it. One we hope will return and be a part of it soon.

This project isn't dead!

Just in case you were wondering.

With other guilds requiring my attention, and life having become a bit more demanding, I haven't gotten a whole lot of work done yet. But, now that those things are for the most part out of the picture, I've resumed work on the guild. It's a bit rough going since I'm working as hard as I can to make the best, and most unique, systems possible for the guild, giving everyone as much freedom for customization as possible while still retaining order. But, progress is being made, slowly but surely.

As I said before, if you want to help out with this, just contact me. Any help you can give is not only appreciated, but priceless. Since the guild is being built up from scratch, with the old systems only being used as a reference and jumping point, there's a lot of work to do, and it's hard not to get stuck once in awhile. Having input not only help, but motivates. So if you see yourself as a creator, a planner, or just someone with cool ideas, I want your input.

With other guilds out of the way, I hope to get this project done this year. I won't guarantee it, because that's the best way I know to fail, but I will make that attempt.

Because input is key, I've decided to let you guys all wander into the new guild early if you want. It's not complete, obviously, but you'll be able to watch it come together as the completed bits are posted, and I'll be able to give you updates, and you'll be able to say what you like, dislike, or would like. I find that a crew thrives most when the regular people are there to appreciate what they do, and it's my hope that with you guys there, we'll get the job done that much faster.

Holy Crap! I miss L&L!!!!

I know I'm hella late with this, but yea, I'd love to be part of things!!! I finally have a house and internet and free time all at once! You don't have to worry about me disappearing for a good looooonnngg while!

I know your name. It is incredibly familiar, and I feel like it was important in some way, but I can't remember at all... Ah well.

I wouldn't say you're late at all. The guild's not quite done yet, though at this point I'm hopeful to have it done by the end of the year, assuming I can keep up or hopefully even improve the working pace on it. Just have a couple major systems to complete, a bunch of minor systems, and the world itself to build. Technically I could build the world now and it'd be playable, but I like to have all the major bits in place first.

The guild has developed well beyond just a "Remake" nowadays. Every system is custom built from scratch, and optimized to remove all the flaws in the old systems. Some different systems are also in place or being worked on that allow for a wide variety of play styles, and while any character is capable of learning or utilizing any of the skills and systems in the guild, actually making a character capable of everything is incredibly difficult due to the amount of time that has to be dedicated to each thing. So presumably, people will never actually run out of things to do.

Anyone still interested should pop by using the link in my previous post. I'm accepting pretty much all applications at this time, since the only people who know about it are people I've invited or those who see this thread, though I do ask that anyone joining during development attempt to give input or suggestions towards anything being worked on. Customs are also opened for everything as soon as the systems and formats for it are finished, so members can spend their time waiting during dev to make customs for themselves or even the whole guild.

There's still a few final touches to put together, but I'm ready for players to come start making their characters, and crew applications are open as well. L&L Beta is officially OPEN, with RP hopefully being available in the next few weeks.

I know I promised this a long time ago, but life went way sideways real quick and I'm just starting to settle enough, and get bored enough, to get back to work, but now we should be ready to roll, so follow the link above or in my signature to come on over! The more players active the more motivation we'll have to get more places to go and things to do, so invite your friends as well!

And if anyone knows how, someone get Mistah to check in already, jerk went AWOL on me and hasn't checked in in forever.
