There has been another rash of people telling me they want a dog 'just like mine' because Elsie's been a gem in public lately.

Why don't people want a dog 'just like yours'? lol

I had people say they want a dog just like Dexter, simply because he is a black tri and never leaves my side when out in public. Most of these people have never had to deal with a dog as protective as Dexter and in another persons hands he would most likely have been dumped in a shelter somewhere.

He is and has completely changed my world. Sometimes I don't know what I would do with out him, or Finn.

when my dad and sister first started talking about getting another dog they asked me if i thought an american dingo would be good for them since they love stowrm so much, i reminded them that all her hyper enrgy is not a phase and they never looked into dingos again.

ive had a few people tell me they wanted one because of how cute stowrm is. somtimes i dont mind people telling me that, i would love to see more dingos everywhere, but when its lazy people that i already know dont walk or do much with their dogs then i do my best to quickly talk them out of it.

so im guessing you have to do more mentally with them than physicly?

also when i say they dont do much with their dogs i mean training aswell as walking. most of the people i know dont even train their dogs to stay, just site. they want just a lazy animal to lounge with them and not need much effort put into it, which is perfeclty fine, thats just not what a carolina dog is good at

Yeah.

Although, lately most of what I've been doing with Elsie is exercise, but when I exercise her we're also working, so...

He is adorable. Especially when he's trying to fit in my lap. When I get home from a stretch of overnights he spends at least an hour trying to stay as close to me as possible. I'm dreading dropping him off at the kennel tomorrow. I'm afraid he's going to think I'm abandoning him, or he's going to be too stressed to eat, or he's going to manage to bite the incredibly dog savvy kennel owner who's also a friend of mine and refers people to me constantly, or, or, or...
Then of course it's also possible that over the 2 days he's staying there he'll make friends. Not a big possibility, but still.

I hope he exceeds your expectations; dogs often do.

I hope so too. I really hope that he's at least comfortable since we may need to board him again in the future.
